Fred Gray, Rob Hubbard, Martin Galway (+Ben Daglish and Matt Grey) - we salute you all!
cheers mister burteriksson
and the guy that came up with the technique that could make the c64 sound like more than 3 notes playing at once was Chris Huelsbeck
He found that out and won a competition.
Later on he composed some legendary game music
These guys are my heroes.
@2:24 the guy got it wrong - it's not 0.7Mhz, it's almost 1.0Mhz
Like that makes a difference. The 6502 was a nice chip to program but it was 2 and a half times slower than the Z80. Mind you, most Z80 systems had zero hardware support so it balanced out.
Yeah but what about all the 3d software on the zx spectrum 48k and 128k...

The sound example following 5:00 does *not* demonstrate the arpeggio technique that Galway describes just before it. Get your footage right, please.
The same goes for the extro music, which is a traditional multitrack recording that canNOT be played on a C-64's SID chip!
I was wondering why they used that track after he talked about his technique for fast arpeggio-simulation of multiple notes at once with a single oscillator. They used a good example with Commando for the next clip, tho.
