I am sooooo happy that Mason FINALLY got his shot!! It’s been long overdue! Of the three QB’s he’s got the best arm and I think he will give Kenny all kinds of competition which he absolutely needs. He’s had no pressure on him from Mitch and Mason might as well been on Mars because Tomlin wasn’t about to play him.

He was starting quarterback for almost an entire season with a 36 QBR in 2019. He played great but he also had his chance.
@@PQ28120let’s be real. That O line was horrible. And the receiver core wasn’t as good as this one. I was a doubter but Mason proved he can succeed with this roster. The way he went through his reads and the way he took care of the ball was very impressive! I was wrong.
Was NOT an entire season, it was 8 starts lmao. Compare his first 8 games to A LOT of other QBs first 8 and it stacks up well
This is the first game I’ve enjoyed watching since Ben retired. I think the defense could’ve played tighter but three takeaways….okay, they can keep their 350+ yard game. At least they kept them out of the end zone which is the most important thing. And I’d like to see Mason play next week and see if he continues to bring the same fire. This is the Steelers team I have missed!!

We still have a lot of issues but I believe that is the type of QB play we need going forward. Mason EARNED the praises from last night performance and should play next weekend. Kenny won't be 100% and the Steelers need a QB at it's best.

Did you notice at the beginning of the game how the Stadium was full of fans regardless of the previous games. We are hardcore fans. So happy for yesterday’s win!!!!!!
The fans wanted to see Mason get an opportunity to play. If it was Mitch playing the stadium would’ve been half empty, fans have seen enough of him.

Tomlin said he started Mitch over Mason last week because he didn't want Rudolph playing. He believes more in a guy that THE BEARS rejected over a guy who has a winning record at starting qb. Tomlin prides himself in coaching mediocrity.
@@wrestlingwithart Trubisky has basically the same winning record as a starter over a lot more games, with a higher completion percentage and better TD to INT rate than Rudolph. Other than that what you said was correct...

@@JamesTheDireWolf Mason is the best pure pocket passer on the Team. But, Pickett is the QB1. The Issue with Pickett is mental due to the early season bad offensive line play. Pickett win games and has 7 4th Qtr comeback wins. We were 7-4 before pickett got hurt in the Arizona game (OL). Mason has never had the weapons they he has at his disposal now. DJ, Pickens, CAIII, Robinson, Muth, Washington, Heyward, Boykins. Mitch is terrible proved it in 2022, but Tomlin or Rooney was too stubborn to move away from him due to the 10 MIL, that money should have been given to Sutton. And we should have kept Dotson the Guard and Witherspoon CB. Cut Levi Wallace (2Mil), Never Signed Patrick Peterson (7 MIL) . That's 20 MIL in wasted money. Plus Chuks is being paid 10 mil to side on the bench. 30 MIL wasted!

He so deserved this. And if it is the last time he does evet start. For any nfl game. He can have this one as a night he will always remember. It truly was a magical night for him.

@@DonMulioVery many Steelers fans have been saying Mason is better for at least this season, and some beyond that. It is not at all an uncommon opinion that someone would lie about. Personally I thought two preseasons ago showed he was better than Trubisky or Pickett on the field. But this is a stubborn coaching staff.

Steelers second best game of the year... at Cincinnati. I was very happy to see the team play better, after a season wrecking three game stretch. However, let's not get carried away after another win against a terrible Bengals defense. Looking forward to seeing how they finish the season.

As a UGA fan we all knew George Pickens had a screw loose , but as you can see when you throw him the ball the dude makes plays.
Screw loose is a little strong. He's a 22 year old kid that wants the ball and I don't blame him. Look what happens when he has the ball in his hands.

This win just makes me question Tomlin more. Why didn’t Mason play for injured Kenny ... or after Arizona ... or after NE? This offense has talent, but is young. They’ve needed more than just a “player’s coach”.

@@cmdrfunk That’s crazy. Even if I never considered it, I’d never admit that. I’d say it was a consensus (which translates as “not my fault”) after careful consideration by the offensive staff (and offensive they are).

The mental gymnastics the national media does to shield Tomlin is amazing. When they play terrible (ie the whole season and last) it's not his fault at all and we should be happy. Mason Rudolph is a starting QB. He is strong in the pocket, (like Mr Brady), has a strong, accurate arm. He can lead & anticipate receivers open. He doesn't get intercepted. Goes to check down, hit reads, or throw it away. Fearless in pocket (like Big Ben). He can run if he needs to get to the sticks. Look at the offense body language in the huddle/ on the field. He has confidence. Steelers would have 10 wins now if he started against AZ & NE. A fast start creates confidence & Mojo!

Mason yes! He energized the whole team,they knew he was their best chance to win for weeks and couldn’t understand why Tomlin kept him on the bench. They all saw Mason outplay Mitch and Kenny at training camp!

Yeah that’s my biggest frustration with Mike Tomlin. Sure he’ll pull out a winning season, but he’ll do that with some atrocious performances against bad teams. At the worst times at that.
That's why they should clean house with coaching staff during offseason. Get a young coach who is offense minded, like the Miami Dolphins head coach. You can keep a lot of players, just replace coaches.

I don't get how's this shows. how Mike Tomlin is great. If anything, it further shows his incompetence. He refused to move Mason Rudolph in the depth chart and stuck with trubisky way too long and then put Rudolph in. He should have went with Rudolph as soon as pickett went down and the steelers probably wouldn't have lost 3 games in a row and would be in a much better position for the playoffs right now. I'll say Tomlin should comeback if they get a playoff win. If it's another year of no playoff wins it's time to move on.

Besides being mediocre for over 10 years. His hiring of coaching staff not good bur Canada was his worst then he had to be forced to let him go after his team started going at each other, then still putting players on the field or starting them who have not been having success yet refusing to give others a shot, bad play calling, bad red flag challenges, and had a hugh part of not only stalling Kenny's growth but other players as well. He actually had gotten some of his players to the point where they checked out and were not playing good team football. Quitting on plays and players. So I am sorry all this season has managed to do us prove how much it is beyond time for Tomlin to part ways . The Steelers need to after the season reach and do a trade for Tomlin and hire their next 10 year plus coach and turn the franchise back into their winning ways and post season wins. These are just facts.

Actually that's where you're wrong Rich. We expect that kind of total team performance EVERY week. The Steelers always play up to good teams and struggle against bad teams. That's what happens every time under a Tomlin-led team.
Every good team gets a bad beat now and then. Under Tomlin it has been almost always.
Yeah! That was a good win! With the way they played, they could end the season 10-7, maybe make it to the playoffs! But, that doesn't exonerate Tomlin, he's still the one that chose Trubisky to replace Pickett when he got injured, the one that decided to keep Canada around and the one that decided that Trubisky would start the game against the Patriots! He's the Head Coach, when it comes to the games, the buck stops with him! Let's see what happens if the Steelers make it to the playoffs! Is it going to be the same or they would make it further! We'll see!
The only problem with Tomlin is he consistently gets guys with questionable character knowing he can't control them. Other than that he is a great coach.

But it is interesting that the team balled out for Rudolph. That says more about how the team feels about Pickett and Trubisky than Tomlin.

They drafted Rudolph because he was Big Ben. I've said, ALL ALONG, that he should have been the starter from the day Roethlisberger retired. They didn't even give him a chance to replace Ben. Same ol', same ol' with NFL coaches/management. There are a LOT of quarterbacks that are better than the ones that are NAMED the starters sitting behind them.
I wouldn't get TOO excited. This is the worst Bengals defense in quite a while with a lot of guys hurt. Not to mention Browning turned back into a pumpkin and straight gifted y'all 3 turnovers (like, just terrible throws). This was more of a total meltdown from the Bengals than it was a glimpse at anything special from the Steelers. Also, before anyone gets TOO excited about Rudolph. Browning looked great for 3 straight games lol ... backups are backups for a reason. There's a 1% you've got a Kurt Warner on your hands.
Guys - now we know what Trubisky is. He had his chance. Let Ma$e play in Seattle. He's earned that opportunity. BUT HEAR THIS - all the coaches are on notice for being inconsistent. We HAVE the right players. Give them a gameplan that works.
