Y'all get her to check out Atlantic! 👇 You want serious deep moving lyrics thats the one. I come from a classical background and from that perspective that song is both a masterpiece and hands down my favorite song of theirs. Every part of it is so on point I get chills every time
when i hear jaws, it makes me think of a predators jaws, like a shark. hes saying dont hold back, give him everything you have even if it hurts. show me love is show me everything. the good, the bad. the pleasure. the pain. if im your prey then take a bite. show your teeth. im yours.
Excellent interpretation! I love this. I think you interpreted it as Vessel wrote it. "Show me" doesn't mean "let me see," it means "I know you have teeth (things that will hurt me), so bear them to me." I feel like this is an early example of the theme of "love hurts."
@qscott777 yeah, it's a theme throughout the songs. Vore. Offering. Sugar. Give. It's a reoccurring theme until take me back to eden with the lines of bite back in anger.
"Show me where the delicate stops" to me feels more like getting to the point where you've just had enough mentally and emotionally. You're broken and unwilling to let another come close. So wanting to find where it stops is like a plead to that person that you understand that and want them to bring you closer but knowing deep down it will never "stop"...
This is easily one of my favorite Sleep Token songs. It's so sensual and intimate, and the message of show me your trauma, scars, flaws, vulnurabilities, etc. has always really struck a chord with me. I'm really glad you reacted to it! it doesn't get enough attention as it deserves as it is an older song of theirs. Always excited for more Sleep Token reactions from you! Edit: I also would like a reaction to Acensionism. My favorite song on the album!
Apparently this music video was supposed to be for another song that was supposed to be released as a single (I can’t remember which one, for the life of me). The record company thought ‘Jaws’ would be better received by listeners and put the already made music video from the other song with this one.
Yes, word on the street is the video was actually filmed for the EP track Nazareth but was repurposed for Jaws as the bands promoter saw this track as the more marketable track (correctly assessed IMO). This video throws everyone off. Still in my top 5 all-time Sleep Token tracks.
There’s just so much reaction gold with this band! Every song is different except that they all have great lyrics. Oh and the messages in each are very connected!
This is before Vessel’s mask changed. This is a video depiction of the song Nazareth from the TWO EP. If you haven’t listened to that, it will make parts of the video make more sense, the cockroach is such a cute little detail. It stars in the Nazareth video and I believe it is also one of the Ludin in the Chokehold visualizer (however adorned in battle armor). I think Jaws is all a memory of Vessel’s that is being corrupted by the deity Sleep. There is a whole story to it, but this is before the trilogy starts. Love your reactions to ST
This song is about someone who has gone through something(s) and now has their defenses up and that causes them to lash out. About the other persons involvement with them though obviously.
Ok so my primary focus was abnormal psych w pre-grad & grad & I had my suspicions when Jaws came out along w many of the the other references to teeth & mouths in other songs, then they dropped Vore & IT CONFIRMED 💯 Vore is a paraphernalia (seggy fetish) to want to consume or be consumed by your partner- like fully realized can = a kinda segual cannibalism but in mild form= leaving them physically & emotionally exhausted or “taking their essence” (like some of the scenes in the movie Saltburn) This song is incredible bc the opening beat & builds both in suspense & tempo & feels like a predator stalking then going in to capture their prey, & the lyric “I’m not here to be the savior you longed for only the one you don’t” sung almost like a submissive sacrifice in the first verse, repeated towards the end to feel very “I’m in here to fix you, I’m here bc I’m a predator too” then the music is chaotic & finally ends w the intro changed to add/emphasize an almost calm heartbeat
A simple and modest tip for Feature Friday. A Brazilian alternative rock/indie rock band called Far From Alaska. Its lyrics are in english, with synthesizers, heavy riffs and a unique sound. "Dino vs. Dino", "Cobra", "Thievery" and several other spectacular songs.

Atlantic is my favorite ST song. I can listen to it on repeat constantly.

My personal favorite sleep token song, mainly because of II, the drums in this song are incredible.

This is a song about Vessel being very intimate with a girl after binge watching all the Jaws movie with him.

Nezareth
Thank you!
Interesting. Yeah, Jaws is definitely an easier listen then Nazareth
Yeah it's kinda a fan theory that this matches better with Nazareth. It's definitely possible.

Early Sleep Token is very interesting, fresh, the birth of their sound. Would love to see your reaction on their 2018 single: The way that you were.
I love seeing a new reaction to this song! It's one of their best!

Friend of mine discovered them with this one, she decided to share them with me... oh man what an amazing discovery it was
You've gotta react to Ascensionism by them!
Especially considering her focus on lyrics. I agree.
Yeeeeah, finally Jaws! In my top 5 by them for sure.
You should have heard to all their discography in order of launch, then you would had understand the story he is telling us.
omg thank u for doing this

If you interpret this song from Sleeps point of view your brain breaks a little
Sleep Token has been an interesting band. There three albums tell an overall connecting story.
We need Imminence again, something from Heaven In Hiding album😊
I have been waiting for more Sleep Token.

The Jaws video is actual for the song Nazareth!
I love this song but im used to hearing will ramos sing it and theres just so much he adds to it that i just cant get into this.

There’s a reason Nazareth keeps getting mentioned. Might raise more questions than answers. But having the right question is a good place to start
