Literally the only question I have about your channel is, why don’t you have a million subscribers already??! Your videos are amazing and you do great work. I love this channel it’s my favorite, I don’t drive trucks nor do I paint, but it’s super cool to see your works and watch the change on these semis… this is my favorite one so far, that’s sick
I love your confidence and attention to detail on these hard working old trucks! I’d like to see these owners have the aluminum and chrome professionally polished.
ANOTHER MASTERPIECE !! RICH LOOKING PAINT SCHEME! GREAT JOB RAY!! DON'T MIND THE UPPER CAPS , AFTER 52 YEARS ON THE ROAD THEASE EYES DON'T WORK LIKE THEY OUNCE DID. GREAT CHANNEL !! HAVE A GREAT DAY!
With my 40 years experience as a truck and heavy equipment painter I can appreciate all your hard work but please protect your health by wearing a paint suit and get a fresh air breathing mask . Keep up the great work and stay safe .
Absolutely extraordinary work sir. You are a master craftsman. Very thorough. It is nice to see someone that still takes pride in doing a job right and actually has the knowledge and skills to do so.
Good looking work truck! One of the last reliable years. Have you tried spraying rubberized undercoating or something similar on the inside of those fiberglass fenders? Wondering if it would help prevent them starbursting so easily.
Those particular fenders have a foam layer built into the center to prevent stars. sometimes ill just use spray paint to blacken them out though. Thanks a lot!
thanks a lot! Certain chassis and trailers get the underside painted if the situation calls for it or if the customer requests it. of course...their price would reflect such things. If you check out my FB page and go back a few posts...you'll see a chassis and a couple of trailers we did a few years back for a North Dakota oilfield transport company in a memory I posted fairly recently. In that post, theres numerous pics of the entire underside of some of the equipment we did for them for you to look at.
There are many different schools of thought and answers to this question. I use the same paint on chassis as i do trucks. A single stage 2K urethane. Stay away from sherwin williams paint though. That includes valspar and martin senior as well. overrated garbage. PPG, Imron, Nason are all good brands. I shoot 2 coats of epoxy primer on chassis. sometimes 3. Then 2 coats of a quality 2K urethane.
Upton, Wy. Ive done more than a few classics in my day. Great trucks. of course I would be willing to pencil one in. Just find me on FB ( Flash Industrial Painting) and get me on messenger if you are looking to make that happen. Thanks!
quantity I guess. 600ml vs. 5l or so. he can paint without stopping and re filling the 600ml reservoire of a paint gun. the only thing I want to know is how much thinner he uses to clean up this tank and 1000 mile hose hahhaa
A siphon gun is what I've always used and am most used to. I've purchased and tried 2 different HVLP guns before, but didn't like the size or location of the reservoir on either of them. For all the tight spots I end up getting into with my spray equipment...having the tank on the bottom just works better for me. Plus, you can set them down anywhere without concern of spillage. However, on this particular truck...when I both primed and painted in black...I used my 2 and a half gallon pressure pot simply because I was laying out so much material and didnt want to be interrupted with the constant refilling.
One was a fiberglass replacement that was poorly installed and was broken in a few spots because of it. Repairable... but combined with the fact that it was cheaply manufactured to begin with...the customer and I agreed that a new set would be the best solution. The other was stock and had cracks forming in the side of it and was hailed out as well...so the decision just made sense

Ray I had blackened the inside of the fenders because they are not neutral and look brownish.

Love that paint scheme
I think it's the third or fourth one like it we've done this year. It's quite popular and gets requested fairly often around here!

I so wish you would do mine.. great body but in need of paint badly..
One of the best channels on RUclips Ray. Get much much more views if you optimise your video titles and descriptions.
Well I certainly appreciate it!
What a beautiful job
Thank you so much!
another great job
I certainly appreciate it!
Superb work 👍
Thanks a million!
Love your work, this isn’t a negative comment at all, . Do you go underneath and paint? I’ve never seen you actually under the truck painting
thanks a lot! Certain chassis and trailers get the underside painted if the situation calls for it or if the customer requests it. of course...their price would reflect such things. How do you get the color combos right on unbelievable how good you are!
Well I certainly appreciate that, Buddy!
Nice work, Are you using single stage paint on these trucks or base/clear?
thank you very much! I use a single stage 2k urethane most generally.
Where are located, I love your work.
Upton, Wy. Thank you very much!
Hey Ray, whats the best paint after sandblasting a frame on a trailer.. someone told me bridge paint... any suggestions

Hey! New subscriber here.
Awesome! Thanks a million and welcome aboard!
How long does it take for a typical repaint
1 to 2 weeks usually.
Hi Sir. Where are you located? And wood you consider painting a Freightliner Classic, both truck and chassis
Wyoming

How does someone get a hold of you to have some work done?
Typically, a person will just go to my FB page and message me from there. Thanks!
Cat power
And this one is a fresh rebuild. It's gonna be pulling hard for a good long time.
As a laymen, is there a reason you choose a sprayer with reservoir on the bottom vs. the typical sprayer we see painters use? Thx
quantity I guess. 600ml vs. 5l or so. he can paint without stopping and re filling the 600ml reservoire of a paint gun. the only thing I want to know is how much thinner he uses to clean up this tank and 1000 mile hose hahhaa

That makes sense I guess

I typically go through a half gallon of thinner cleaning my pressure pot. You're right about the quantity though.
@@teams.t.e.a.m6214 wow!
what kind of paint u use?
I use a PPG 2K urethane
how much for paint job?
Day cabs are typically in the 12 range and sleeper trucks are around 15...depending on the scenario.
how much does cost some like this ?
one like this typically runs in the 12 to 15 range
What was wrong with those fenders?
One was a fiberglass replacement that was poorly installed and was broken in a few spots because of it. @@teams.t.e.a.m6214 oh ok. Just wondering cause they looked ok on the video. Thanks for the explanation.
