I upload a window view video the Limited Express 'HOKUTO' from Hakodate to Sapporo on the JR Hokkaido Railway Line.
The Kiha-281 DMU will retire on September 30, 2022.
Hokkaido has a lot of magnificent nature such as the Funka bay, Mt.Komagate, and lake of Onuma, so tourists are able to enjoy to see them, but the speed up and reduction of time was very difficult for these reasons.
The Kiha-281 DMU was start to service for solve these problems on 1994. The DMU has contributed to the speed increase by reducing the time by 30 minutes compared to the previous.
Although it has been in operation for nearly 30 years and will be retired due to obsolescence, the achievements of the Kiha-281 DMU will live on in people's hearts!
