It's funny how Tony gets rejected by a woman once in his life and he is ready to question everything.
Like all of us
Just like his son lol
...and I took that personally.
Some of us are rejected by every single one of them so
because he views them as mother figures and craves their love and affection, the same love and affection he craved from his own mother
Janice was pure evil. Scaring the shit out of little kids who had just lost their mother? All calculating to move in on Bobby? What a mean psychopath.
and she is fat.
By far her most irredeemable moment is pouring out Bobby Jrs chocolate milk into the sink
Furio to Ralph: : "U gotta bug on your hed."
Stupida facking game
@@Dee-1969 He bedda lamb chop it
You mean "a rug on your hed." Ralphie wore a piece. But Chrissy was so high on skag it could have been his mother's muff on Ralphie's head and he wouldn't have known it.
Ralph: THEY DIDNT HAVE CREW CUTS IN ANCIENT ROME!!!!!
Furio: Stupid-a-fuckin haircut
The numerous supernatural elements woven throughout The Sopranos (ghosts, the medium, Chrissie seeing hell in his near death experience, the Virgin Mary appearing at the Bing) are my favorite parts of the show. Ditto the dream sequences and coma episodes. You either love 'em or you don't, and I love 'em. I never noticed the wine glass thing; and would definitely chalk that up as another metaphysical Sopranos moment.
It's supernatural on making a comment 4 weeks on a video that came out today.
I think the medium was probably part of a scam that was set up by Paulie's girlfriend
You forgot the magical mystery hand that catches Richie Aprile's chair after he shot
@@PissedOffBanker That's a good theory. Never thought of that.

*Ah, yes, the ground is made of ground*
Doesn't he make these videos to explain the episodes? He explained the episode yet you're shitting on him.
@@ridleycrouch You got me all wrong. I’m just pointing out how much that story beat was played across the series. Love Kino and his reviews.
@@lewiskazinsky7334 ok good
you must've been the top of your class
@Nick Name Is it a hanging offence?
The end of the episode with that creepy dream Tony has really freaked me out. It’s very Dark, you get just a real haunting vibe from that woman (figure/apparition) slowly walking down the stairs and it’s basically just her silhouette and as you see Tony’s eyes start to try and focus in on her he wakes up in a panic sweat.
Janice has to be the most Manipulative human being on the entire show. Can’t we even call her a human if we are totally honest. The whole Sopranos family has always been Manipulative. At least Bobby say what you think of him being the Mob, has somewhat of a heart for people.
If Tony had asked me to clip Janice, I would have.
Yeah unlike Tony who is such a nice guy
Tony would’ve been alright too if he didn’t get himself involved. The only thing that would’ve gotten him in trouble was getting himself in too many affairs, eventually being put into the MeToo movement
She is her mother's daughter
@@fowler8510 makes you wonder how Johnny fell in loved with Livia!?
What can Booby possibly see in Janice? Tony once told Richie Aprile that there are guys in prison better looking than Janice.
Shadow Livia was absolutely horrifying! That dream sequence was scarier than what most horror movie writers come up with. I always liked it when The Sopranos went macabre and creepy. Virgin Mary at The Bing, scaring the ever-lasting piss out of Paulie. The Near Death Experience Tony had while in the coma (The Mansion in the NDE is the same as the one in this Dream). The dream about Gloria after she committed suicide. Big Pussy showing up in the mirror at Tony's house at his mother's wake. Christopher visiting Hell while comatose. The cat staring at the photo of a deceased Christopher. The psychic that saw all Paulie's murder victims looming behind him. Janice's wine glass moving on it's own etc...
I love that The Sopranos would add a paranormal element to the show once in a while, and totally pull it off without being cheezy or suspending reality or the viewer's belief. The dreams and encounters are realistic and believable. When they got their creepy on, they pulled it off splendidly. I didn't notice Puss in the mirror at Tony's, or Karen's ghosts moving Janice's wine glass the first or even third time watching. The subtleties and little details on this show make it an absolute masterpiece. A timeless masterpiece.
That Virgin Mary scared the gabagool outta me.
Shadow Livia sounds like an anime transformation

Tony is having those dreams you have when you accidentally fall asleep with a nicotine patch on.
Jesus is that why I've been having wild dreams lmfao
Ever wake up in the middle of the night with pulses going through your head that feel good n they just keep happening n eventually you end up laughing?
Lol so true
Wouldn't know.
Really? All I dreamed was that I’d gotten an extra pillow from the linen closet to sleep with. When I woke up it was gone and I realized I’d never actually gone to get the pillow.
This season? Was Paulie ever trustworthy? Wiseguy doesn't get that old unless he's a real snake bastard
Snakes spontaneously reproduce! They have both make and female organs!
Sun T-Zu made that observation too.
He's one of the biggest rats on the show. The biggest rat that isn't in bed with the feds. Its hilarious because the actor (who plays on the fact that he was an "associate" of one of the families, which I personally believe to be only partially true. He was probably Matt/Sean level at most - real gangsters keep quiet about it unless they get out via Witness Protection or somehow another like Michael Franzese) said he would never play a rat and the writers turned him into the rattiest of Tony's inner circle. I think that the writers did that on purpose and were having fun with his "I wont play a rat" schpiel.
Somehow i had forgotten about Janice tricking Bobby's kids like that. Janice was such trash.
Once you see the shadowy figure of Tony's mom, you can never unsee it.
My son & I were just talking about that. Sooo creepy. Remember right after she died AJ was home & heard a noise on the back stairs & said "Grandma"?
@@samanthab1923 yeah and he was all alone!! I had heard of the moment with Tony's mom several years ago on my first watch and was totally expecting AJ to see her there. Just creepy as hell.
@@samanthab1923 Lol it's like that one scene from Hereditary
@@PissedOffBanker hereditary was good asf, with the whole family takeover thing
@@isaacster5027 scared the shit outta me lol
2:45 let's not forget that after she scared Bobby's kids, she went and smoked a joint. She was still smoking when Bobby called and responded with "Oh hey Bobby, what's up?" in a ... I guess, sultry voice? And then she followed it up with "Oh nothing, just doing housework."
Goddamn I hate Janice so much. Lol. Fantastic actress.
Great analysis again. Just a little detail...The insect on Ralph is actually a moth. The symbolism is different between butterfly and moth. The moth usually has darker meanings, usually supernatural undertones and death.
Explain further? Never heard this. Butterfly represents change which I thought meant his death in the context of this dream. Dr. Melfi asks Tony if this friend had undergone any changes, to which Tony lies in response and says "no".
@@the_local_bigamist Sure. Well, the insect on Ralph's head was a moth and not a butterfly. So there is that detail. You are correct, the butterfly does represent change, not so much as in death, but rather as in re-birth or transformation, resurrection, or light over dark. The moth on the other hand usually represents transformation into the underworld, death, or an omen of death or someone who has died. In my opinion the moth/death symbolism aligns better with the episode and themes of the show.
@@silbug Interesting. I hadn't heard of the moth symbolism before.
‘Shadow Livia’ is an effective piece of cinematography!
Bobby was too good for all of that, just a product of his environment. I like his character, it was interesting to see him develop as the series progressed as well
To bad he married jan and then you know what happen next
@@yaviercruzcruz2687 Yeah.
He gets into model trains.
WHY BOBBY?!!!!!
Quasimodo predicted all this
Ahh, you with the cynicism
In Funhouse, during the dream sequence, Sil says, "Our true enemy is yet to reveal himself," then the echo "Paulie". As David Chase said, it's all there.
Never noticed that. Nice catch.
What about Paulje?
@@budwhite9591 I believe he double crossed Tony in the end
Janice eating that ziti is like watching her eat Karen's soul out of the family..........
I hate when someone eats my soul out
How long has Karen’s ziti been sitting in the fridge? Potential health hazard that no one ever brings up?
@@RFSpadeDan Its in the freezer. Don't tell me that you don't know how a freezer works?
Later when Janice makes lasagna and Junior tells Bobby Janice stole the recipe from Carmella
@@keithharper1470 I don't think she stole the recipe. Janice gave a lasagna Carmella made to Bobby and passed it off as her own.
I always thought the Janice-Bobby relationship was a bit too sudden. It’s a TV show so I get that they have to move the plot along. But a guy like Bobby would take longer to get over his wife’s death, especially since he felt bad about arguing with her before she died.
I get what you mean but Janice played the concerned friend for a long time before they became an item. She basically groomed him to be her boyfriend and later husband by "being there for him", helping with the kids, bringing food etc. She played the long game and it worked.
We see it in a short term but in the show timeline, it's been over 6 months.
The caterpillar alludes to Ralph changing when his son gets injured imo.
Good theory. I thought it just meant his death.
Janice was the most despicable character with zero redeemable qualities.
AJ is definitely the son that Tony deserves
But not the son Gotham needs.
"The lowest Janice has ever been..."
You do remember she murdered her husband, right??? XD
He beat her and was an asshole anyways
@u wot? imagine being so stupid that you genuinely hate a fictional character.
A. He was a hewah. B. He hit her. C. That wasn’t her child he was carrying.
He had a bee on his shirt
They weren't married yet, but I get you.
Paulie was never trustworthy. Let alone this season...
He is the biggest snake of the crew
@Jabroni Destroyer Paulie was the next in line, with Silvio in a coma, right or wrong?
@Jabroni Destroyer If Paulie took over then the DiMeo family was basically over. The guy was useless - even smothering an old lady and stealing her stash to kiss Tony's ass after realizing he'd been played by Johnny Sack when Carmine didn't know who he was. There's no way he could run a family. He'd have them all dead or in jail within a year. I reckon Paulie's fate would've been to turn informant on the NY family and give them as much as he had on them, which was probably not a lot, and he'd probably just about survive working as an associate with a crew in NJ working under NY and being an informant to keep himself out of jail. Remember he didn't even have a regular legit income.
Hell no, Tony is the biggest snake. Think about how many of his own crew he’s killed and mostly for dumb shit (Ralphie with the horse…Chrissy..)
@jabroni destroyer FACTUALLL!
Janice isn't interested in Bobby. She's interested in a meal ticket.
I don't get it, when i was young I watched your sopranos episode reviews and they were great, Now I'm old and they're still great.
Loved the podcast with Don Borkocorleoni
Janice always has something scheming but this episode literally made me feel sick. Great character writing to make someone so despicable, poor Bobby though. I remember being like OH HELLO NO when you see Janice eating the ziti too!!! Was so pissed at her that I never noticed the wine glass moving - Karen 's out heeeeaaa!
that scene was creepy with his mom walking down stairs i also never knew the wine glass moved and ive seen that episode
The wine glass certainly moved on its own if was moved by the table cloth it would have went more towards the direction it was moved from not an exact 90 degrees. I would say it was surely hinting towards the super natural element of The Sopranos
That ouija board trick was prime Janice haha she was sociopathic. Played beautifully by the actress
OOHHH, the debut of Brainless the 2nd over here.
Get the f**k outta here!!!
Janice wants Bacala to move off of his dead wife and onto her - EWWWWW...THERE'S A LOVELY MENTAL IMAGE!!!
The clip with the wine glass moving, I never noticed that before!!! Wow!!!!
That livestream was kickass.
(4:20) New York Bosses say they want to Re iterate & Tony says : If ya do , Yer gonna clean it up !
Aida Turturro is a great actress. I hated Janice so much. I even hated the way that she would eat.
I actually think the dreams telling Tony that death is coming for him as he continuely see's it with Tony Blundetto and him shooting Phil is a great insight into how Tony B. sealed his fate with that move.
Phil never got over how Blundetto killed his brother and at the end of the day and that was Phil's main reason for trying to whack Tony.
That shadow is terrifying.
Dude. That wasn't Janice moving the matt. That was the ghost unsuccessfully trying to dump that wine onto treacherous Janice's lap. We saw Pussy in the mirror. The supernatural is part of the Sopranos world building. (JMO) Anyway, it's way more fun that way. 😉
By far the creepiest dream of the entire series. Solid horror vibes.
The dream with Livia coming down the stairs was way creepier.
Can't wait to watch, before I do I just wanted to say: Awesome job on the first episode of the podcast Kino! I don't even like podcasts and it was great. I'm not a Borko fangirl either, but that was one hell of a crossover! Definitely set a high bar for episode 2, looking forward to seeing where it goes from there!
This is the episode when Janice’s wine glass moves on the table right?
Edit- 3:40 haha guess so.
"He´s not really seeing results anymore". Yeah, Kino, you're right. That might be true. I think the fact that he's a fucking mobster, has something to do...
Worth mentioning that he said it was “hot in the car”
Yooooo kinooooo I got this notification while I was at my community service and I couldn’t wait to get home roll up and smoke I’m currently rolling right now much love KINO your the fucking best around
Carmine Jr's story about the finance minister was misunderstood.
The finance minister clapped his king in irons because he earned more than his boss. Johnny Sack was an underling and wanted to earn more than Carmine Sr earned. Moral of the story, never let anyone under you gain more power than you.
It was Tony who wanted to earn more than Carmine, which is why Little Carmine told Tony the story
"Calling All Cars, Pure Kino is going to announce the Follow up The Wire series soon!"
Why do people want to watch a program about a bunch of guys who went to slip and fall school? The wire is unwatchable, bored me. The hood doesn’t interest me at all.
@@ledflaplin2001 maybe having an introspective on the show may make you feel differently. The show deals with a very grounded and more realistic take on crime and its effect on multiple facets of city life. The cops arent painted as always being in the right, the environment and circumstances that drive folks to crime is discussed, and how often politics and personal ambitions hamper the efforts of those trying to get their jobs done. The show becomes pretty good when you give it a chance, plus it has idris elba and lance reddick

"AJ being AJ." In other words the most annoying and useless character in TV history.
I just remember this one for the Max Payne cameo
Kino is part of a family. . .the family of early man!
I kind of like the idea of the wine glass moving on its own but if you look at the bottom edge of the screen, you can see the plate moving as well
Great video, thanks again. Can you make a video on the supernatural aspects of the show.
That's a great idea!
Janice is just as methodical, and definitely more cold, than Tony. It's written that the family wrote her off because she "went her own way" but she just found somebody easier to manipulate. A real chip off the ol block. To add, Bobby is one of the best characters in the show. He grew as a person only to realize too late that he grew around the wrong people.
"We're having cake later... carvel"
My oldest sister reminds me of Janice in so many ways it’s fuckin scary
Bobby had such sweet kids. Felt sorry for them.
I know right. They end up losing both parents in the end.
Enjoyed this one even more because of your joint show with Borko, or whatever happened there.
It may be this, it may be that, it may be VA FANGOOL!
The wine glass moving on its own is wild.
6:22 I think that is similar to when Tony sees his mother in the house during his coma dream, and the house is like heaven and is family was there, he is already a family member in this scene, maybe its about a death wish, or a womb wish, seeing how its always going back to his mother
Loved the podcast. Can't wait for more
I didn't notice the wine glass moving before
Versales! Nice touch! 😃
Built by King Lewis
The way they pronounce the town in Illinois.
Janice is so gross 😝. Turning the screws on Bobby to get over his dead wife when it's only been a few weeks, maybe months.
Carmine's diatribe about Louis the whatever's finance minister is underrated
Explain
@@mr.galactico7544 Carmines little spiel about King Louis's finance minister when he's having dinner with Tony and talking about Johnny Sack. Very allegorical.

Look a the very bottom of the screen only. You can clearly see the table mat moving.
Finally caught up to your videos
Did Little Carmine give Tony a mellifluous box?

I just started rewatching the series so good
4:05 There is no table mat. Cheap plastic table it looks like though so maybe it rocked. Nice little detail, never noticed.
I love Johnny sack he was the best character in the show, cunning, manipulative, smart, suave, sophisticated, scary etc he’s one of the best characters on TV ever
Another upload of sterling quality and thanks again Sir...
Never saw the wine glass move before! Even if it was just moving the mat I wanna still add this to the sopranos’ spooky list.
Never caught the moving wine glass before!! Surely no coincidence
There were some weird paranormal stuff in the sorpranos. The Virgin Mary statue vision in the Bing, AJ hearing footsteps after Olivia dies, Pauly hearing some weird crap from the spiritualist that would be impossible for him to know. Very uncanny at the very least.
what footsteps?
Dude I never noticed the moving wine glass! I'm on #7 and I've missed that every time! Idk Janice is pretty evil; it could be Karen trying to warn Bobby or some other kind of evil Janice brought into their house/family haha
Great job again man!!
That was not Anthony Soprano in the dream. It was Kevin Finnerty.
100 bucks says the moving wine glass is accidental and not part of the production
Why did Janice call herself ‘rising damp’ when talking to Bobby’s son online? I never got this.
I'm wondering how you commented 4 weeks ago lol

On the Sopranos podcast w Imperioli & Schirippa they briefly discussed this and Michael explained what that was related to but Totally forgot 😂
What kind of voodoo magic is going on here??
@fabRic_jAck Timeline got fucked up.
Hey man big fan of the the channel, keep the videos coming. I really enjoy your insight. I was wondering if you could do a video on fatherhood in the Sopranos. A lot of the mobsters have different ways of raising their children. Some of them are even objectively good fathers like Bobby, Pussy, and Johnny Sack. Some are obviously bad fathers like Tony. However, fatherhood effects a lot of decisions these guys make in the show. Would be interested to hear your take on it.
That's a great idea!
Ralph looks like he probation officer that sent Feech back to prison.
the ending dream was one of the best dreams
Hey Kino, when you get to the episode with Tony having the dream about that animal Blundetto shooting Phil Leotardo in the street, don't forget to mention that a ton of characters from the show living and dead can be spotted in the crowd randomly behind everyone it's a really cool little bit of "blink and you'll miss it" from Sopranos.

Mostly Everyone in this show are Ruthless…but damn I hated Janice !!! Good actress tho …
100% David Chase wrote the dream sequence with no meaning just to get people talking about it. It’s what writers do. Open to interpretation
1. Little Carmine didn't have a brain in his head. 2. The occult angle really came into play when Paulie went to the seance with civilians, and the leader actually gleaned facts from Paulie's life from someone in the nether world. 3. The dreams throughout the series were important links to the stories, but they were not pleasant to watch; very strange, not unlike real dreams. David Chase is a genius.
I always thought the shadowy figure represented the devil, and the house represented hell.
This Kino is more creative than speilberg, where's my members only jacket?

I wanted to have a PC and play Max Payne, but I compromised. I played Tetris on my GameBoy instead
Question for the expert. On season one, i think the producers made a mistake. The guy that was killed later for being gay (Vito), walked in the bakery and he is called by the clerk by the name of "Gino". Christopher that was there didnt even recognize Vito?? I think that they had to use someone later as Vito and though no one would noticed if they were to use the same actor (scene on which Christopher shoots the clerk on the foot). Awesome by the way...
