I've drawn; painted; created things to some degree my who life, and in this past while, my inner critic wound up getting in the way to devastating results.
In the last few years I've hit major burnout, for a few different reasons, but I think the loss of my primary outlet has probably been the major factor... I'm a different person, a better person, when I'm drawing, and I let my own ego rob me of what gave my life meaning in the first place (I know, so dramatic)
I'm trying to get back into it again, and it's a challenge because I get hung up on the lost time I could've improved, and how rusty I've become, but I know now I won't survive in this world if I can't find my way back to this space.
Watching this gives a lot of perspective, at the end of the day all we want is to create something that we can love and call our own, if for no other reason than to just take pride in having followed through with something meaningful to us, and we can be so relentlessly harsh with ourselves that it can seem so impossible at times.... but being able to see other artists doing their thing and giving themselves grace, makes me feel like I can too. So, thank you for sharing, from one artist to another, I appreciate the video, and your work is beautiful :)
(also apologies for the life story you didn't ask for 😅)

Awwww thank you so much for taking the time to share something so vulnerable! I enjoyed reading it, and I feel so grateful you wrote it. I totally know what you mean when you say your ego and inner critic get in the way, I also battle with that as well! Especially when us artists can be such perfectionists 😂 I hope you can conquer your burnout or at least learn to tend to it with grace and compassion 🥰 the fact that you have passion for art is so meaningful, and I hope you can hold onto that 🤍 don’t worry, we all have to start from somewhere and it’s never too late to start or restart 🤍 the time will pass anyway, so we might as well take the little steps towards what nourish us🥰 best of luck on your journey!!! 😍 thank you again for watching! I’m glad you liked the video and my art!
