I really like how you show many of the "what happens if" such as you can't get the parts apart - they are rusted together. When you use heat to break the rust seals, where to apply the flame, what to avoid hitting with the torch - awesome! So many of these type of videos show only the basic "how to" doing the procedure on like-new cars where everything comes apart quick and easy, and I swear before they make the video, they actually DO the procedure, deal with any issues, then record their video so everything will be quick, easy and clean without issues. This was a TREAT - looked like this procedure was the worst possible case - never saw that much RUST on any vehicle except those that were in a junk yard for years in the rain! Also indicating the torque values and even order of tightening - Thank You!

Thank you for this guide. Took me a few goes. I struggled with the bolts that hold the wheel hub. I could'nt get them lose with my wrench. After a week of thinking about it, I nearly bought a compressed air tank and air hammer, but instead opted for a breaker bar and those stuck bolts came off like butter. Side note, if you're working on a car jack with zero good angles to leverage the breaker bar, there's a rachet attachment from supercheapauto that allows the breaker bar to work like a ratchet - so all angles were open for leverage following. By the third go I was a pro, and did the job in 20 to 30mins (including correct torque pressure for tightening all bolts). This guide saved me a $950 bill at the dealership. Instead paid a total cost of $350 for an aftermarket wheel hub @ Repco. Not sure why they quoted 3 hours labor to do the job at the dealership, a professional should not take this long to change one wheel hub.
I have to replace the dust shield that rusted away and wont hold the pin for the ebrake anymore on my Vibe GT, which is the same as a Matrix XRS. It has rear disck brakes, though, and I dont want to damage the hub assembly. I cant find any videos on this but this video should help a bit. Thanks!

Very interesting. I believe that this is in my future for my 05 Corolla so it's good to know what to expect. Great job.

You did a good job on Shawnee exactly how you doing
The lug nuts are 19mm. Also, why didn't you use a slide hammer?
I’m still hearing the wah wah wah helicopter noise after replacing both rear hub and bearings on my matrix. Any thoughts?
Should have mentioned all the new brake parts you put on as well. Pretty good vid, though.
So you don't need to do an alignment. Perfect

How do we get it out if we don't have an air hammer or torch?
excellent vid ! Thanks
I really would like to do this myself but .... this looks like a possible nightmare.
Awesome
Ah yes I agree, we should not be breathing brake dust, break cleaner is much crisper
Gravity bleed is enough just disconnecting 1 line . I've never had any problems.
Neat job
Looks like that car came from a junkyard. Thought my hub assembly was rough.
Good
Rusty land
Dang! That was a chore
