Brilliant podcast fellas, keep ‘em coming! You’re speaking truthfully on issues we all need to be coming together and conversing on.

I salute you both for “going there.” It is a very remarkable election year, and the conversation I think is a very good one to have. The two party system seems to have heavy gravitation at its extremes and I’m not sure what can be done about that.

Love the “besitos para llevar.” While some disagree, I also wanted to add that you guys make some of us feel less alone. The abandoned middle has a home here ❤ Love to you both. See you in The Arena!

💯 I feel politically homeless and in the middle… this makes me feel so much better that there are people I respect so much that are also in the same boat!!

I love this. I feel maturity between adults plays a part in talking about politics. You can agree to disagree. Don’t push so hard on trying to get the other to change their mind.
Family members of mine have become so ugly with their racial comments.
If you’re a true follower of Jesus, he would be to happy with some of his people.

Just wanted to say that you are the most Jesus oriented people I follow, and in such a different way that it is so refreshing! Maybe if people who comments every week would take the time to follow you, they would know better 😅

You could revive the Battle Ready brand if you combined it with Equestrians...Battle Ready Equestrians has success written all over it. Or Equestrian Shift. Just rolls off the tongue lol - I love listening to you guys. Thx for staying at it...great thinking and dialogue.

Kanye said he couldn't pray his way out of debt. I would argue he meant that on a much deeper level than financial (granted both are in a questionable current positioning). This has always been my biggest challenge when it comes to finding community and a romantic partner in the faith landscape. From my experiences, it appears to be much easier for people to default to God, grace and prayer, than it is for them to go on the internal journey of fear, pain, and healing. For me, this was the adventure of a lifetime that ultimately lead me to meeting, knowing, loving, and liking Self. Because I know me, and I know God, and I love both unconditionally, I now have this unwavering sense of compassion and love for all. Conflicts are no longer reasons to close and ball my fists, they are now an opportunity to open my arms. I'm so cognizant of the fact that I would have never been able to get to this place without crossing both bridges, the internal and the spiritual. One without the other would have created a gap between who I was, and who I was created to be.

So many great points. I agree that it isn’t great to call someone a “dumpster fire” personally; but my understanding was you meant her as a politician not as a human being. (And for some reason it’s ok for people to call republicans much worse than this.) I get the point you were making. And for everyone so angry that they point out the issues on the left… there are already sooo many people pointing out problems on the right but very few who point out issues on the left. Both sides scare me!

Agree, the context of Jesus is Near Eastern and specifically Jewish, 24:39. Not sure about Buddhism … but it (Jesus’ context) is definitely not Western, and is more Eastern. In the gospels, salvation (Jesus’ miraculous interventions, before the cross), seems to be more about restoring individuals, including restoring them to their community, one individual at a time.

I have to admit the whole "if we don't have the same political values and say things the same way, we can't walk together" perspective (ie. the first lady you both were commenting on) gets a bit old in the church. It would be nice if she realized we are all becoming who God wants us to be. Who I was 10 to 20 years ago is far different than me today. I had two disagreements with communal members from my place of meeting and we didn't say alarming or any other word that makes it sound like our behaviour is anti-biblical..Good job on calling things out Ms Manus men!

I look forward to this podcast every week. I think politics is a toxic duality that is meant to divide us. I understand that we are approaching an election but I personally would rather hear about who you guys are and the wisdom you guys have.

What does it mean when the government struggles to bring up a relatively young, experienced, eloquent politician, In favor of senile, bitter old men. When even the smartest and experienced politicians endorse the most unlikeable politicians, there must be a reason why our government wants us to stay fearful and longing for something better. Government is not a meritocracy. I’d like to believe it. We want to believe it, but it ain’t. If a few companies dominate a business it’s a monopoly, but when two parties are the only ones allowed to run that’s sufficient representation?! It wasn’t a problem before when politicians were “seemingly” capable. Polarization has always been a problem but now that social media exists the flaws of our political system are made apparent and more people distrust the government and the media more than ever. I’d like to be impartial but at the moment it’s seems likely that whatever the outcome of the elections, everyone will continue insulting each other on the left and right and politicians will continue to get away with anything and their followers will turn a blind eye.
