- We finally got to explore the ruins of Winstanley Hall. What remains is a shamefully neglected building and a disgrace to see. Originally built in 1560, one of only 3 Tudor buildings in the Borough. The Hall was extensively altered in the 1800's. Why has this neglect be allowed to happen?

Wrought iron and stain leaded glass still intact in a couple of places. A true gem. I was surprised that you climbed those steps in the clock tower. Thank you for recording this relic.
Thanks, I couldn't resist those ladders !
Very well factually documented Dave !👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼.. never seen wooden foothole ladders like that !!.. people will be looking back at your video and thank you for documenting decaying history ! That knight and horses sculpture 😍 ! Nice addition the pictures of 10 years ago!.. gives you a better idea of it’s former glory !
Thanks Antonio I only wished I'd have got to explore it before the main rooms collapsed.
Hi new subscriber here. Love you're videos mate keep up the great work.
This is used as a filming location in the Jeremy Brett, Sherlock Holmes film, the master black mailer. Just thought you might want to know.
Yes I'd read that somewhere, thanks for Watching
sad to see.
Hi Would you know anything about the Welsh Winstanleys please in the 13th century- 1400's? Thank you.
I know that the Winstanley family who built this hall made their money from sheep farming in Wales. There was an older building near this site built by the Winstanley's but I don't know the date.
@@OvergroundUnderground Thank you for that and I enjoyed seeing your video too; thank you.
The riff-raff trespass yet again. Why don't they just mind their own business and find something better to do?
