Did a show with them a few years back…fuckin great guys!! When Rich found out we paid the label 500 bucks to open the show (yeah, crazy, but we are insane fans) he promptly took us to the bar and blew 500 plus bucks on our drinks!! Love these guys!!!
Pft, one can spend his money on worse things. You guys spend money for what you love, there is nothing crazy about that. No one bats an eye when women spend half of their salary on make-up or people waste their money on scratchies. At least you will always have the awesome memories you did not have otherwise!

This is the deal about gigs. They pay you. Not the other way around regardless of opening or headlining. Never ever pay to play. If your band is so desperate to make it big then do the mind dead shit on the broadcasts talent shows on TV begging for peanuts or votes or some non talent mutherfuckers beind a table giving you a thumbs up or down. You should know that.
You can pay to play only on whores and in casinos. But begging to play and paying ain't good.
What's your band's name? I would like to check it out. Even hooked get paid. I know because I have told them they would have to pay me. Not a bad name for a band with a story behind it. Yall ever thought about Whore for a band name? With the story behind it, it could go a long way.
But man any venue will hire you if you pay them to play. No matter how bad you suck people still drink so win win for that venue.
So what's you bands name? Some bands suck for sure. I tell people that even. But I am the pure redneck, down in the dirt mutherfucker that won't lie that wears leather from time to time and still ride sans a 1 percenter patch with long hair and a beard that lived the life. We can go from Waylon and Hank Jr. to Metallica, Pantera and ACDC to Merle Haggard and so on.
So your band needs to be your own. If you are good then people will listen and so what without a contract from a record company? Do you really want that even. Bit yall paid 500 dollars to open for a band that actually made money playing a gig. For what? Paying to play another gig?
As far as investments go, sounds like that one paid off really well

This band puts on a great show. I saw them in Atlanta with Black Label Society. It was badass
i seen them in older Sacramento California with another Oklahoma working in northern Cali came picked me up to surprise Carl low e surprised Carl was such the greatest friend moments that weekend OMG great band to see in person seriously great he's nice their great huh or don't enjoy our pass on my dear people

Let's face it. This band sounds pretty good and if it weren't for Pantera, this signature heavy metal sound just would not exist. Pantera still lives on in many different forms and this is obviously one of them and I'm grateful for it. lml
