    Loved the field trip. And very interesting to hear the breakdown of booth costs. I also really like your idea to make a list of festivals and their costs, effectiveness in selling art, etc. Also, Teresa's paintings are beautiful!

    It is a beautiful setting for an art show! I am in LOVE with “Awakening!” Congrats on breaking the 200 subs mark, Anne! There’s a handful of your videos that are doing really well. Be sure to celebrate your success🎉!

    Congratulations on 200! I totally agree with your advice to make a list of shows that you want to attend. I also make notes of the type of products that have a history of selling well at each show. Some shows are more upscale and people are willing to spend more, and there are some shows where I bring mostly “smalls” or less expensive items.

    • @annelivingstonart
      @annelivingstonart  Месяц назад

      OOO, great idea, the type of products that have a good track record at different places! Another thing I notice when walking around as a "customer," is that there are very few things that I myself feel compelled to buy. And paintings? It's a tough sell unless the painting really knocks me out!
      BTW At this fair, there were mostly smalls for sale, but a few booths had large options. There was one artist from whom I bought a larger painting many years ago at a farmers market(!), and she still sells large works so cheaply! I was shocked at how affordable her work was. And then there was a guy who literally had THREE paintings total in his tent. One for each wall! And each painting was mostly sky/atmosphere, with one tiny animal on each painting (a bird for two of the paintings, and a stag for another). My friend told me that last year he sold like 10 paintings (and they were 1,200-2,500 range!!!). He's been at it for many years, probably decades.

    I loved this so much. It was so much more interesting than just the stats, and it just felt great. And wow! Your friend's work is beautiful, and her booth setup is amazing. Such a smart build. AND 200!!! 🎉🎉🎉 I'm celebrating this milestone with ya!

      Thank you, Jackie! I agree, the stats vids only go so far unless there's something notable to debrief about. I'm really glad that it felt great to you! This is wonderful feedback. Thanks for the milestone celebration! :)

    What a beautiful place for an art walk/show. It’s been so awesome for me that you share the behind the scenes. Like how much does it cost to rent that spot for a weekend and how the person renting space is also responsible for set up etc. it shows how much goes into these weekends. I’ve wondered about it many times. Several years back….like decade ago😂 I finally got brave to put my art out at a local art walk where the stores in a nearby city invite artist to show their work. I had a school mate that ran a cute shop and she encouraged me to show. I sold all the pieces I showed that night and it was an amazing feeling to feel supported. That was my photography. I go in phases with what I create. Great to meet your friend, her art does hold emotion and is also relaxing to take in. She had the perfect spot with the ocean view.

      @@annelivingstonart I love your videos because I’m a fan of art and I love to support other artists. You also make great videos. My channel doesn’t highlight my art practice because I have little faith in my art abilities however I feel often art heals and when I’m having a rough time it’s a calming thing for my overactive mind. It did feel mighty good to sell all my photo prints and truly it was a pleasant surprise.

    I really enjoyed watching this Anne! Teresa's booth was set up wonderfully especially with a backdrop of the sea for her sea paintings! How did you record walking along the pathway? - it was so smooth with no bumpiness! Very good advice about seeking out a potential art fair before signing up for it. Hope you have a great week ahead.😊

      Hi Simone! For the smoothness: I just tried to walk smoothly...? And I think because I sped it up at 2x speed somehow it looked less bumpy, but I'm not sure. I have purchased a gimbal but have yet to really master using it. Man, when I work that out, it's be nothing but glide-y smooth vids from here on out! hahaha! Hope you have a great week, too!
