  • Hi guys!! hope everyone is doing well :) Today we're working on my iPad while chit chatting about digital art, perfectionism, and sharing some of my favorite digital illustration tips! It's so cool to see how every artist uses procreate so differently, I'd love to hear in the comments about your digital art process!
Like I mentioned in the video, I'm using and iPad 12.9 inch generation 5 and Procreate. I'd like to mention that this is a tablet I use as a professional artist- in no way do I think getting this type of tablet for illustration is necessary for starting digital art. Before this tablet I had a much smaller and cheaper one that I used until it died. If you can try before you buy or start smaller than this for your first tablet I would highly recommend that!! I always like to reinforce that the materials you're using can be helpful but you can always learn art, no matter what your budget is!
    Happy drawing :)
    ✰Thanks for your support!✰

A pro create for beginners would be awesome!! You would have my undying gratitude. I want an IPad Pro with pro create and the retro brush pack for my birthday in June. However, I would be completely fresh to AI Art. I’ve always drawn and painted IRL. Thank you Gabbie 🤗

I’ll add it to my video ideas!! Digital art can be daunting to learn, but so fun!

I love the bit about shading on a multiply layer and how people tell you not to do it, but you do it anyway. I like to do the same thing and like the effect too. Screw the haters haha!

this is SO cute! and the idea to treat it like you are doing a coloring book is awesome. i am on a long string of unfinished work because i want it to be so perfect that i never actually finish it, so I might have to give this a try!

Dude I have tons of unfinished stuff sitting around too 🥲 I highly recommend giving it a shot! Sometimes just finishing one low stakes thing really helps break through! Finished, not perfect is best 💗💗💗

The paperlike screen protector is good, although it is matte and has a texture so there is friction when you draw/write. I find it nice to use when I am writing with a metal tip on my pen but really annoying with the normal pen tip just because it sometimes makes a funny "creaking" noise... think back to wacom tablets and the pen tips wearing I think that is the best comparison. I think it is definitely worth the try as I think is also comes down to a personal preference! ☺

I’ll have to grab one and give it a shot! It’s funny, I’ve never even switched my pen nib out before 😳 do you like the metal ones?

@@patchysourkids Highly suggest metal tip for controlled writing, feels like pen on paper but feels to scratchy when drawing - for me personally!
