  • Apologies for the audio on this one- I'm fighting for my life to get my microphone to work with me ;-; I'm hoping to upgrade my tech setup as the channel grows! Tia for your understanding :)
Today we're looking through an old sketchbook of mine, and talking artistic growth and developing art styles. Of course this is all my opinion, and I'd love to hear yours as well! I feel that while art styles can be important in a professional setting there is waaay too much focus on developing style at an early point in your artistic career. Focusing so much on making sure your art has a 'look' to it can lead to you being less creative, and less open to finding the aspects of your work that make it authentic. My best advice is to really take the time to learn what about your own art and the work of people you admire makes you love to draw, and try as much as possible not to force it. (I know first hand how hard that can be!!)
