I guess we’re lucky in Hertfordshire we’ve had hardly any rain for months but yes today started out misty then sunny now gloomy and thunderstorms forecast tomorrow. Here comes Autumn . Ooo I do love a bread & butter pudding mmmm😋 I hope it was as nice as it looked. It is hard to believe you are all talking Autumn you still have two weeks to go,September 22nd.You also still have 15 more minutes of daylight than we do in New York City,at least Birmingham does,as I have Brum weather on my phone.My Mom made bread,and butter puddings,but she never put that much bread in them,hers was a custard,with dried fruit,and a layer of bread on top.That pudding is very similar to an American bread pudding,you would cut the bread in cubes,add fruit,make a custard of milk,cream,sugar,eggs,and a little bit of cinnamon,then soak the bread in the custard, making sure after the bread soaks it’s still a little liquid left,then put in a greased dish,and bake.Main difference is the American version is a lot less greasy,no butter.😊

And talking about the price of Lurpak they have not only doubled the price but they have cut down on the weight of the packs too . Bread and butter pudding looks lovely. My family are faddy and i have to replace the mixed fruit with jam on the butter, i like it both ways. Cant bear slugs, give me the heebies! Garden is looking lovely, well done Mick
Love bread and butter pudding just a little tip that I do is melt butter and dip bread in it bit quicker and leave crusts on for top pieces as go nice crunchy with the sugar. Looked lovely Maria.
I know the weather is miserable but what a lovely cosy Saturday vlog 😊. My ex husband wasn't at all practical around the house and I've been on my own for so long there's loads needs doing 🙄. Well done Mick 👍. I don't drive either so the weather sometimes puts me off going out - I sound really miserable don't I 😂 I'm not really lol. When I was young we lived next to a market and I'd go out in all weathers, even worked on a stall for a time for exactly £1 a day. I must say, watching you makes me want to make my legendary (to me!) bread pudding 😋. Thanks for sharing your Saturday x
Hi Maria, I am making a bread and butter pudding today as well. I put sugar between the layers but might try your idea and put Demerara sugar on the top. I just use milk and no cream but we eat it the same day it’s delicious.❤️❤️

If you use milk and no cream. Blueberries instead of dried fruit. Sweetener instead of sugar. Use the milk and bread as healthy extras you could make one syn free x
