You look great Suzi, it will all be worth the effort. We sold a house and lived in rented for 6 weeks before we moved and it’s very unsettling. Hope the purchase goes through smoothly xx
You’ve done very well going through all the changes of selling, renting and buying a new home. The older we get the more stressful it is. Our bodies take quite a hit from the stress. Congratulations on your new home! What I love is you have made friends of each person you meet; you’re a lovely woman and very gracious with your kindness.
Your skin and hair look amazing Suzi! I really like the hair band look on you. This is a very nice air bnb and I’m truly looking forward to seeing the flat you’ve bought for yourself! I admire how brave you are!
The funny thing about boxing things up for a move is that you forget what's in the boxes and then realise you never really missed any of it! It's such hard work, it's making me weary just watching you. I could never live in a dark flat. I take a compass with me when viewing to make sure which direction the main rooms face. Anything North facing would be a definite No - they are always chilly!
I so agree with you re: boxes, I'm off to the Storage as soon as I have the energy to do more decluttering!. I took a compass too but there's no way I would buy that dark downstairs flat. I've made an offer on the lovely light one with the balcony! Fingers crossed. Suzi x
You are 100% right. I moved in April 2024 the removal company were so good which took the stress out of it all. Before the move i decluttered so much things. The transition into my new home was great, and you know what I do not know what a got rid of 😮. It’s like I never had them. Now I’m in my new place I am on the road of only having what I need and use. If I buy new I donate/ get rid of the old. It’s makes you wonder how much money one can save . If you have children I totally understand the need for things . 🏡🌳🪴😎💖
Susie darling I do have a top tip. In the smelly cupboards put out bowls of fresh ground coffee. I can’t remember where I learned this but it really works. Forget baking soda. Get the cheapest coffee and put in several containers. Wide and shallow is best I think. It’s also great for a smelly fridge or freezer. Please try it.
Im with you-we've just moved to a smaller house. We gave so much away and we're still choc a block. We stayed in an Air b&b for two months and only took suitcases as though we were on holiday.
Well done Suzi in completing one of the worst tasks, decluttering and moving. Hope the next stage goes smoothly for you and look forward to seeing you with Jo
I downsized five years ago and was very strict on decluttering. Or so I thought! In the end I had a walk-in cupboard rammed with things I didn't need and had no room for. It took about another year before I could summon up the energy and enthusiasm to tackle it. It's now my utility, albeit a very small utility but it does the job. It's utterly exhausting, mentally and physically, but it will be worth it once you're settled. Until then, take good care of yourself. Pace yourself and stay hydrated!
It's such a stressful time - but you are on your way now. You are so right about decluttering. I remember when we moved into our current house I thought I had really gotten rid of so much-and I had! But as the movers were bringing the things in, I kept vetoing items and telling them to put it to the side outside. I took so much to the charity shop directly out of the moving van! You look lovely and rested. It's good you are caring for yourself.
My biggest moving tip if doing a small move using a a car is the big blue Ikea bags! For clothes, bedding and anything non fragile they are a must! Boxes are just not user hand friendly if you don't have strong hangs and they take up a lot of space! Also I really wouldn't recommend buying anything for the new place until you have the keys in your hand. Also its great to move into a place fairly bare to really visualise what will work in that space. Good luck to anyone moving out there. I've moved about 20 times in my life and my last move was hell in earth!
Yes I agree, and thank you for your toptips. have enormous bags you haven't seen! The boxes are all in storage and men will move those into the flat. So not a problem, apart from having too many which I will reduce whenever I can. And I am only buying things like a hoover which I will need wherever I go. We are actually safe to shop after Exchange and that's when I will go shopping. But thank you so much for your tips. Movng is hell and I hope this is my last move having done at least a dozen. But I had forgotten how horrible it is as I haven't moved for 15 years! I would say to anyone downsizing, start declutterin a year before, even 6 months wasn't long enough! Suzi x
@@AlternativeAgeing Definitely agree. Hope things go very smoothly for you and exchange soon. A fresh start will be lovely. I've enjoyed watching your moving journey. Best of luck 🤞🏼
@@jacquijohnson740 I really feel for you it's a terribly vulnerable time. It's definitely when you know who your friends are and what your new neighbours are like no matter how fancy the building is sadly. If I could do it again I would have decluttered the lot and moved with a suitcase . Hope things are better for you now!
Decluttering is so difficult. We moved two years ago. I spent the year before reducing items by 50%. It wasn’t enough! While moving in and unpacking, we tried to reduce another 20%. The belongings needed to have a place or they had to go. This worked, we didn’t have too many regrets about parting with the things we loved. Looking forward to seeing your new flat decorated by Suzi!
Suzi, I wouldn't sleep in that DAMP bedroom, it will be full of spores that you will breathe in whilst sleeping. Better to sleep in the spare room and look for another flat as the downstairs is DAMP too, you do not want to get ill, remember that little boy aged 2yrs died because of a damp flat, serious. Other than that fantastic flog, I had one of those multi bead necklaces from Brighton too, basement flats are dark, cold and damp. Well done in loosing all that social media crap, life is too short, two months will fly bye and you will be in your fabulous new flat, well done, x
Suzi well done on all you have accomplished, another great vlog and your looking fabulous as always. The pink was quite cheerful and I don't mind clothees at all.☺
Congratulations, you've done it! Loved the vlog! Great find with the Air B&B and what a wonderful man Ray is.❤ Can't wait to see ALL of the new & exciting things coming up. BTW, your skin looks amazing.🔥👍🥰
You’ve achieved so much Suzi, well done! Very happy you have secured the flat, you will be setting up your permanent home in no time. Onwards and Upwards……hugs from Oz ❤️🐨
I’m in the exact same boat Suzy - just about to move for the third time in three years 😢 Definitely declutterring everything apart from the essentials this time as I’m downsizing now it’s just me. I threw a load of dried herbs away the other day 😂 It’s a nightmare isn’t it xxx
It’s just a Swatch, water resistant . I think it was about 60 or 80 Euros. It’s my go swimming watch and sadly it has been swapped for an autumn watch now! x
Love the flint 'walled garden' something that I have always wanted. Although I love quirky (to a degree) the flat was a bit too hickily-pickily, but the lounge and park outlook was wonderful!.
Oh Suzi what a challenge for you,but exciting times ahead. Thank you so much for sharing all this with us.Can’t wait to see you settled in your new flat and lots more fun videos ahead❤
Get a good rest now one part of your move is completed. Its very exciting and i am so gald you got the flat you wanted. Can't wait to see how you style it. Grsat video as always ❤
Great to see you with so much going on in your life. I've always found moving so stressful. Thanks for the tour of your air bnb. Take care and relax now.🐞
I’m thrilled that your offer has been accepted and you know where you’re going to be living. So fast! I’m still living in limbo waiting for another buyer for my maisonette. I’m living the move vicariously through you 😂Exhausting exciting times. You give me hope ✨
I will miss your lovely house. I guess I can say where I met you! As I get older, I become more amazed at the amount of stuff I've accumulated. Trying now to declutter and downsize. What an emotional rollercoaster. Things that meant so much, I find are now causing me distress. These younger people are smart with being minimalistic! Can't wait to see your next adventure - moving in.
Glad your eye/s are healing nicely. Good luck with your check up. You can relax now for a bit in your air BB. I’m interested in your fast. Proton was it? I would love to know more.
It’s doing very well thank you and can't wait for the all clear tomorrow so I can start having saunas and doing more exercise. I’ll do another fast in a month or so with Prolon and tell you all about it then when I have all the packs. I’m trying to get a reduced in price one! And I won’t just have moved so will have time to talk you through it! x
Great news about the flat, Suzi. You’re halfway there already! You’re looking very happy and more relaxed 😎 Brilliant video and never long enough in my opinion 😊 Love your energy and your content. 🎉 Good advice on downsizing…I’ve got it all to come next year 🫤 Enjoy your half-way-home xx
Dear Suzi, know you had to put on a brave face , of course moments of reflection and lots of happy memories. I was even teary eyed thinking of little Jack during last clip of your lovely room but you are of course making best decision to downsize ,Wishing you only full speed ahead to next happy chapter. In between how sweet of you to mention Jo ❤
Congratulations Suzi! Great job on your move so far! Downsizing is a difficult task. I wouldn’t worry about the rest until you move in. Place your items that you love and store what you have room for and pass the rest on to someone else. Looking forward to seeing your new flat decorated! ❤
hi Suzi great vlog the flat was nice but not for you with those stairs sadly we have to think about stairs and difficulties as we embrace our age. The rental is only for a short time and won’t be home but like a holiday as you say. I thought you looked great in your dungarees and very glowy. All over for a bit and nice things on the way for you I wish you a stress less time ahead with a happy ending when you finally move into your new home see you next week. You really give me so much joy to watch on Sunday mornings thankyou from me ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐😊
Moving is tedious. So glad you are finally moving! You need a good massage. Can’t wait to see your new home. :) Have a great weekend and week ahead! God bless you.❤
You must take a moment and savour all you’ve accomplished in the last little while Suze! Thank you for sharing…a lot of food form thought as we all reach this stage of life! Well done ❤
We lived in Clifton Terrace for 16 years(whole house). Beautiful house but yep, the basements are dark. I did love it but the stairs(and the hill!) got to me after a while - Wick Hall is definitely better for older people and I do so love Hove.
I think you've done really well... eye op, viewings, packing, selling home buying flat...exhausting. Sorry about the damp... so bad for your health so great that you don't be there for very long. Thank you for the video. Well done Suzi, take a bow!
Happy to see you getting settled into your airB&B. Moving is so traumatic and I think you have have handled it much better than I ever would have. Can’t wait to see you finally settled into your new home. Take care. Get some good rest. See ya soon.
Well done Suzi 👍🏼 that must have been very stressful for you. Hopefully you can rest up and chill a bit now till you move into your new flat. Good to hear your eye is doing well. Take care ❤xx
You’ve done really well. You can always declutter later on but totally understand what you mean, everyday things are replaceable, it’s the memories that aren’t such as photos, letters etc.. Hope you are sorted soon.
Well done Suzi, you have done it the first big phase so far. I miss your dear little house.... Did you mention to Greg about Sox the Fox? She is going to miss you... I like your Airbnb. It’ll do for now. You will have some new lovely adventures coming your way. Fun,fun! Xx
Not much fun at the moment, things have ground to a halt on the flat, the weather is awful but yes all is good really. Sox the fox disappeared back in March. I was very sad. More on foxes in next weeks vlog! x
I really appreciate you not doing sponsored videos anymore; I usually speed through anything that one of the RUclipsrs I follow that are sponsored even though the RUclipsr will say they love the product, I still feel that there is that element of trying to sell me something because they are getting paid or getting something for free. However, if a RUclipsr like yourself buys something and likes the product, then I’m much more inclined to stop, listen and actually look at the product because it is a genuine review. I’m so pleased for you that you’ve found your new flat and that it is everything you wanted. Moving and downsizing is sooo stressful, we just did that almost two years ago and I still remember what a difficult and overwhelming time it was (we are the same age as you, so I can totally relate to what you are going through). We also made the same mistake by not downsizing more when we packed up our 3,500 sq ft house to move into our 1,100 sq ft condo; we thought that most of our furniture would fit; however, when we got it here, we realized that the furniture that looked small in the house overwhelmed our condo. We had to sell a lot of that furniture and purchase, smaller pieces, but now it looks so cozy and we love it. The lifestyle is perfect for us at our stage of life, we can just lock the door and travel, so instead of having to take care of a yard and a big house, we can concentrate on doing the things we want to do.
Well done Suzi for getting through a stressful and exhausting time, wishing you lots of happiness and hope it won't be long till you move into your own flat, take care, Margaretx
Of well done Suzie for getting everything done up to this point, what a stresser. Sounds silly but I am slowly decluttering (age 69) and I am not moving!! But it will happen as I age and I am doing it now while I am relatively fit. Seeing what you have been through, and what you are saying is making me more determined.
Wow, what an exhausting week for you but a very productive one. The start of a new chapter! I’m sure I speak for everyone when I say I’m looking forward to coming along for the ride. That last flat you viewed was absolutely beautiful but I fully agree with you, so many stairs and different levels not ideal, although very spacious for a one bed and a lovely garden. Huge congratulations on getting the flat you wanted, so exciting! I’m looking forward to seeing what you do with it. Have a great week 😁
Love all your chats you are fab I wish I lived near you so I could have a proper chat lol good luck you deserve a medal for all that moving and thinking you have had to do!! ❤
Hats off to you Suzi, proud of you. It's very stressful moving but there is light at the end of your tunnel ✨️ top tip buy a Minky heated clothes dryer they are fantastic & cheap to run. Best thing ever if you can't dry outside, especially with all this rain we are having. Good luck lovely 😍 xx
Suzi you deserve a medal AND a holiday! For the past few years I've been trying to persuade my hubby to move to an apartment on the shores of Belfast Lough but it needs a lot of renovating plus there's been different tenants in it for the past two years and let's just say they're not very fond of housekeeping!! However, it's bigger than our current apartment and of course it has a lovely view of the Lough. I know hubby's right to dig his heels in about it because he's the wrong side of 80 (just) and I'll be catching up next year but to say I'm obsessed with the place is an understatement! I do admire your energy and determination. The latter I have in spades but a bit lacking on the former I'm afraid. I look forward to seeing where you will choose to live. I've just found your channel so I am trying to catch up on your previous vlogs. Best wishes from Northern Ireland. 🎉
Hi Suzi, A new adventure ahead for you. How exciting! I was going to suggest, if Kevin would permit, for you to take a few pics of the flat layout with furniture in situ. I recall that his layout is elegant and minimalist. Think you have a better plan in which Kevin has invited you to come to take measurements. Of course he would, as you make friends wherever you are. Congratulations on your move into your new home! ♥
Well done for completing phase one of your move! Hope you can relax for a while now, get back to normal and look forward to moving into your new, lovely apartment. X
It is so fun to follow your steps in the moving process. Happy to meet the new owner of your house who seems to be a wonderful man. Thank you for all good advice, I have an attic absolutely full of things I never will use again, time to take care of that. Today’s flat looked very nice but I agree not exactly what you are searching for. Take care ❤
Hurray! Yay you! Look what you have accomplished. I'm so happy about the new flat. It is the one I would have chosen myself, so my vicarious pleasure is intense :0)
So pleased for you Susie, its all working out for you. Please keep your vlogs on RUclips as I love following you. You give me so much inspiration as i think I am the same age as you.
Keep looking. Beautiful property but its all polish and style. Reality is its dark, (you have enjoyed a beautiful light bright airy home....this is the opposite. More for a young professional and not a home to enjoy retirement in. Im 70 and i would find all the steps everywhere too dangerous. Think winter not summer. Please keep looking .....
'Had to research "twitten", and then you showed us anyway ❤. 'Gorgeous flat but not at all flat. 'Silly number of steps and stairs. Really fun video. Rest and restore from all the stress. 'See you soon!
Wishing you every happiness in your temporary home! It's been fascinating joining you on your flat hunt. Having grown up in Hove and now living just outside it was lovely to see old haunts! Also an old friend of Jo!!
Well done you for getting all that done!! You are looking gorgeous.I didnt like all those steps in the flat today.... New owner of number 1 seems terribly charming and will no doubt really LOVE your beloved home ,and doggy will LOVE the deck too.Cant wait to see your new flat ,but meanwhile hope you recharge ,and relax a little🎉🎉 Looking back to see if I can find the new flat !❤❤ Doubt
Have you tried AG1 yet. Like the air BNB, with a little work on the owners part it could be really nice. Rest relax recharge for the move ahead. Best of luck.
Buy some Kitty Litter , and some charcoal briquettes and something to put it in, and place in all the damp spaces. It will absorb the dampness. Hope this helps
Totally agree about that flat. I thought as you walked into that bedroom from the garden that it would be so dark with all those steps outside blocking the light...especially in winter. Depressing. All the steps inside too, just not practical. I'm about to get a new kitchen, so all my kitchen stuff has been cleared into boxes and my house is in chaos, I can imagine how you feel. A declutter as I unpack it all is deffo on the cards. I try to do it often but somehow kitchenalia never gets included. Well done Suzi, it's been a huge undertaking. Take care and get lots of rest whilst in your temporary accommodation.
Good job, well done! I wouldn't be in such good spirits, had I just gone through this move. I am in awe of how you carry on with "living" while under the stress of such an event. Brava!
Yes, Suzie, that flat screamed drainage issues. Dump all your boxes into the new place and run off to Byron Bay b4 it gets too hot 😊 unpacking can wait 😆
I'm not able to move into the new place for at least another month if not 2 sadly. Too much paper work to run off but I will as soon as I can! Lisbon probably. BB next year. x
Attitude is everything, Well done you! Moving again at the end of October as developers keep encroaching. That’s 3 moves in 2 years and I’m still downsizing….lol. Looking to find the perfect place next time round. So glad you were able to find such a wonderful apartment. Wishing all the best ❤🇨🇦
You look great Suzi, it will all be worth the effort. We sold a house and lived in rented for 6 weeks before we moved and it’s very unsettling. Hope the purchase goes through smoothly xx

Hiya Suzi, All looking good for the future ……you made it through! Don’t forget to get a good bottle of champagne to celebrate! All the very best Suzi.

I have enjoyed your videos on searching for a new home… what a journey, you are an inspiration 💕
Start now is all I can say! But thank you so much. I have really rested up since I moved out and my energy is coming back. Suzi x
Congratulations! Hope the rest of the sale goes well and you're happy and heallthy in your new home. On to new adventures!
Congrat on move Part 1. Glad you have the price sorted on your new flat. Almost done.
You really give me so much joy to watch on Sunday mornings thankyou from me ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐😊
Thank you so much lovely. so glad you enjoy my witterings. x
Moving is tedious. So glad you are finally moving! You need a good massage.
Can’t wait to see your new home. :)
Have a great weekend and week ahead!
Congratulations 🎊 so chuffed you've agreed a price on that lovely flat. Fingers crossed all goes smoothly.
I think you've done really well... eye op, viewings, packing, selling home buying flat...exhausting.
Sorry about the damp... so bad for your health so great that you don't be there for very long. Thank you for the video. Well done Suzi, take a bow!
Well done Suzi, you're nearly at the finish line. Im so happy for you 😊.
All the very best in your new home. X
Never boring Suzi, great vlog x
Happy to see you getting settled into your airB&B. Moving is so traumatic and I think you have have handled it much better than I ever would have. Can’t wait to see you finally settled into your new home. Take care. Get some good rest. See ya soon.
Aww bless you so pleased things are finally coming together for you💗 You deserve every happiness 🥰
Well done Suzi, rest and take care of yourself now. Thank you for keep doing your vlogs through this busy and stressful time ❤
Well done Suzi 👍🏼 that must have been very stressful for you.
I so agree, thank you. x
You still look great for such a stressful time...I really enjoyed the video TY
Well done Suzi for getting through a stressful and exhausting time, wishing you lots of happiness and hope it won't be long till you move into your own flat, take care, Margaretx
Thank you. x
Exciting times Suzie can’t wait for you to move into your new place , in the meantime will watch your vlogs with interest ❤🎉
It'll be a while but I am praying it's before the end of October. x
What a great send-off for you to stay at Rays your last night...looking on at your former home and dreaming of the new!!
Love all your chats you are fab I wish I lived near you so I could have a proper chat lol good luck you deserve a medal for all that moving and thinking you have had to do!! ❤
Good luck with everything Suzi, there is light at the end of the tunnel now! We call those little alleyways”twitchells” up here in Nottingham😂 xx
Oooh thank you so much for the Minky tip, I will have a look at it now. And thank you for your support and all of you on here! So grateful. x
Congratulations on getting the flat! Woohoo!! Can't wait to see how you set it up once you move in! xo
Suzi happy n sad for you. Thanks for a great video. Happy Trails ❤
Jo did so well on This Morning
Well done for completing phase one of your move! Hope you can relax for a while now, get back to normal and look forward to moving into your new, lovely apartment. X
It is so fun to follow your steps in the moving process. Happy to meet the new owner of your house who seems to be a wonderful man.
Thank you for all good advice, I have an attic absolutely full of things I never will use again, time to take care of that.
Today’s flat looked very nice but I agree not exactly what you are searching for. Take care ❤
Glad you liked the new owner Greg. just wait till you see his dog! Good luck with the attic. x
@@AlternativeAgeing 🥰
Hurray!
I will promise. Now I'm not working with brands it is my one true love, filming what I like, when I like! x
New owner of number 1 seems terribly charming and will no doubt really LOVE your beloved home ,and
doggy will LOVE the deck too.Cant wait to see your new flat ,but meanwhile hope you recharge ,and relax a little🎉🎉 Looking back to see if I can find the new flat !❤❤
Doubt
John put the links below my intro at the top. Hope you find. x
Thanks for that tip…I will try that at mine
Thank you, chaos is just horrible isn't it! I feel much more relaxed in this rental with nothing much else I can do! x
Exciting times Susie. Great blog as always x
So happy for you I really know that your journey has been stressful but the end will bring you such delight ⭐️🌈
You look wonderful. I’m glad things are all going well for you.
Hiya Suzi, thank you for the updates. Blessings luv Ontario Canada 🇨🇦🐝
BB next year. x
Exciting times! I hope everything goes smoothly for you xx
I am so excited to be on this journey with you as you move and share your updates another great vlog ❤
