SMAnthonyW I felt like after 2012, they started using Jessica for her high notes only so she chose another route. cuz before that, it was her and taeyeon that had the most lines. they made the group clean. but after a while, sm just felt like because she wanted a different career path and not to dissapoint the fans, they kept her for that reason.

It's actually the truth. CMIYC was supposed to somehow be the anthem for the Tokyo Dome concert. Jessica was supposed to stay for one more album before willingly leaving the group, that is why Divine was also supposed to be her gift to the fans before leaving. Then Jessica was removed from the group much quicker than she was supposed to be leaving, so they had to redo the entire song and video without her. If it seems to you that the dances SNSD have for their songs are off, or that they have a gap between some of the members, that is the spot Jessica was in, simply because they did not have enough time to redo and relearn the dances without her in time for Tokyo Dome.

Just my opinion but if SM gave Jessica more activities regarding GG, she would've stayed. It seems as though she's always had a passion and a good eye for fashion ever since she was young so its inevitable for her to chase after anything else. I mean she probably had to think about her fashion business for a long time and because she saw the possibility of handling, however hectic it may be, both her business and being an idol, she went for it. Whilst most of the members had activities of their own at that time, Jessica seemed free doing nothing outside GG except that variety show with her sister. I think if SM kept her occupied with something like a solo, a collab or a sub-unit, it would've kept her focused on being in the entertainment business. Then again if I look at it that way, that's kinda mean since you're purposely hindering her from pursuing what she's always wanted to do besides from music so...
