There is absolutely no vocoder using in this demo, only vocal transformer and some other effects. No synth is needed for these effects, you get them in a DAW like Logic Pro. Vocoder supposes to use a mike which lets the hands free, because you need to play on the keyboard.

I bought one on the strength of this demo, as first impressions out of the box (audio not visual), it's naff, send it back, so I return here to see if I can replicate the same things and yes I can. I feel better now. Although the "Radio" option hasn't been demoed, it sounds rubbish on my unit, just sounds like the megaphone setting with distortion, is there a fault? The clear glass green leds are horrible. Thanks for the good demo David very helpful.

I guess my question is, how/is it possible to: automate the pitch modulation so I can get actual note frequencies - and then record that into Ableton (audio either from Mic into Vt-3 or via dry audio in Ableton sent to Vt-3, I don't mind). Nope sorry mate.. it has no midi what so over.. how ever i would advice you towards a "electro harmonix v256" or a "electro harmonix voicebox" or a "tc helicon synth". They cost more but may be what ya are lookin for

i got win 10 so there is no driver to download. it says the vt-3 will automatically install it but it just won't work. i keep getting Code 28. My pc finds the vt-3 but it seems like it just won't install it. anyone got a fix? or maybe could send me the win10 driver?

Very good video to introduce Roland AIRA VT-3
