    Thats too bad about those chew outs . Now you have educated wolves. That makes it more challenging . Best of luck.

    Losing those other wolves was really unfortunate. Sometimes stuff happens. Keep you chin up. We learn from our mistakes and press on. Life is too short to stress about things that have already happened. Appreciate all the work that you put in to this. Have a Great Christmas and a happy New Year.

    Ya sucks when those thing happen I’ve had that same problem with those blackout snares what I started using was a 1/4 by 20 stainless nut and smashing it on in a vice the threads. Keep it from pulling through just an idea, but I have had that problem with the blackout style snares. Beautiful catches. Always fun to watch. Thanks for sharing.

    Well I'm glad that you caught a nice black. It is a beauty! Sure unfortunate that those other ones got away. I will give you a little tip if you want to keep those stops from pulling off. Take a hammer and bend that cable sticking out at a 90 degree angle to the stop. Takes very little to bend it but it will then stay in that position. Makes it nearly impossible for the stop to pull off. Best of luck to you.

    The black cable is a great product...I use a file sander to burn off the plastic coating...also add some liquid soder to ferrel end ...we use the same cable on our fishing gear with the shark bait.

      Maybe try and unwinding the cable and .make a loop by back braiding an eye and then clamping it with your Farrell like a cable sling.

    I had the same ferrule problem and what I did was put a double ferrule on and loop the cable back through, pull it so it is kinked tight to the ferrule and crimp it. I haven't had a problem since. very nice black, good luck and keep up the pred cont.

    Take a double Ferrell and loop it back through like your gonna make a loop but cinch it tight then crimp it. It will not pull out.

  • @FarmCat777

    Nice video. It looks like you are pretty successful but I was always told never to drag a wolf out or they won't come back.. they also said that wolves recognize trail tape so they blaze their trees high to mark them so when it's deep snow they are still eye level LOL... They will actually avert wolves by using trail tape on purpose sometimes to trick them off a trail onto another trail with traps or snares... If you have established wolf trails around a bait, you can also toss a glove on their main trail so they go down a side trail to your trap or snare. Happy Trails

      Thanks for the tips ..I usually use clothes pins in the trees for my marker at my wolf baits or I don’t use any markers .. this is a new bait site so I put a few markers up till I memorized everything then I remove them ..

      @@BusterCreekOutdoors clothes pins is a good idea! If the squirrels don't steal them. Teehee. I know wolves are heavy but apparently you're supposed to carry them.. we always wear snowmobile helmets and are never cold even at -50 F ... Everyone always wears a helmet for warmth and I feel bad for folks who try to bundle up!!

    • @thecamocowboyoutdoors5693
      @thecamocowboyoutdoors5693 Год назад

      I haven't showed it on a video, but just take that tail end of the cable that is sticking through the ferrule. Instead of leaving it straight, bend it sideways and give it a couple whacks with a hammer. The cable will then stay bent at 90 degrees . Makes it nearly impossible for them to pop the ferrule off. Hope that helps. Those Wolves are tough enough to catch sometimes and then to lose them really hurts.
