I was there that night! Glad you caught this song - I asked about it later, they said it was a totally improvised version of "C Jam Blues." Great band!
This is a gem, all the crazy solos etc. But Watching Shaye giving orders to everyone and the members knowing exactly what to do is clearly just amazing. having a leader like that, they must all love her.
Thomas Timlin I think you are exactly right. This band has held together for a very long time, and not because they are rolling in money. Band members have deep affection, for each other and for Shaye in particular. I've heard that business management courses sometimes study Ernest Shackleton as a case study in how leadership can work. I think they could also study Shaye to understand how sweetly but firmly she directs this band.
Sunday morning, rainy outside and then you get this on your play list; no better way to start your day. All the ingredients for good tasty music, fantastic bunch of musicians. Thanks again.
I am sure that you JAZZ fans in the USA know just exactly how fortunate you are to possess such outstanding interpreters of this amazing art form.Green with envy I can only stand by in YT and enjoy!Wonderful band!
The tune in the begining is a sixteen bar piece strongly resembling "The Buckets Got a Hole in It." The solos are then on a 12-bar blues sequence and then at the out choruses they revert to "Bucket."
Just recently discovered Tuba Skinny. Now I'm hooked. I have one of their albums. I am going to buy the other two, and I'm hoping to them autographed by Ms. Lewis and Shaye.
I think they are out of town according to their facebook page: Tuba Skinny will be playing over on the North shore today, our last show before we all leave town for the summer and head out on tour. We will be at Pontchartrain Vineyards, playing an outdoor concert for their Jazz in the Vines series. Come out and see us if you can. We are playing from 6:30pm til 9
I looked at some of the Man Overboard videos and enjoyed them. Great quality videos and great music... nice! and thanks for posting. Whenever we have seen Tuba Skinny play and have videoed them, they are always very friendly and very nice people to be around.
I like that the bass drummer is rocking an Aquarian Super kick with a pearl resonant head with a port hole. Not meant for a scotch drum like that but still sounds great.
Shaye's playing a cornet. But I got curious that you seemed to know Ewan's name even though you didn't mention Shaye by name, so I went to your channel, thinking you might be from the UK where Ewan's from and saw your very cool Man Overboard band videos, with you and Ewan! I had also found you guys doing Puttin' On The Ritz. Is that his regular band? I've seen him in several videos with Tuba Skinny and in a jam session with Matthew Bracken of Yes, Ma'am and he's a fantastic clarinet player.
It's just because, all along, we wish the band included Ewan Bleach and Jon Doyle. Everyone knows that Shaye's the greatest, but she should have Jon and Ewan with her. Then with Robin, Todd and Barnabus, it would be the greatest band on earth. BTW, notice that the banjo player played his entire solo in the wrong key?
@@gordonbainbridge8371 Absolutely agree. I often think about how much better Tuba Skinny always sounded with Ewan and Jon taking the band to another level.
I strive to enjoy everything in my life as much as that fella enjoys playing the washboard ! Pure electricity running through that room!
10 out of 10!!!!! Nice Dancers - Very Good Washborder/Drummer - All very GOOD!
Shaye best timing ever and great body language enjoying the music
What a cool dude on the washboard.

Love the way Shaye directs the solos.
So good to see Shaye smiling!

I love this! Keep it up Tuba Skinny! Shaye must be the reincarnation of Cleoma Breaux!

digitalalexa > You forgot to mention the name of the clarinet player.
Actually the clarinet player I miss nowadays in this very nice group.
Shaye rules, and she's hot!!
Sorry, I do not know. This rendition of "Gotta Give Me Some" is one of my personal favorites.

Way to drive that band Shaye!
My sister knows one of the band members and told me I have to check them out. I'm in the New Orleans french quarter on vacation... How do I find them?
Танцуют все

8 people dislike this? Hahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's a good one! :)
What was Ewan doing with his mouthpiece?
Who is on the second Sax?
except its a cornet not a trumpet.
Not a striped jacket and straw boater in sight.
