My daughter went for a casting in 09'. So I KNOW this is all most likely true!! My daughter is a natural redhead, and for whatever reason they always want them for supporting roles🤷🏻♀️. They wanted her to be in flip flops (not weird) but then they wanted her to do this "footsy dance" alone in the casting room. I said "No Fuqin way & dipped." I was the ONLY mom to leave. Every other parent was saying "c'mon, hurry up learn the dance. Go in there, go in there. Do whatever they tell u." My daughter cried the whole way home. I couldn't tell her why I made her leave. I didn't even have any concrete evidence that it was sexually inappropriate. It just sent up 🚩🚩🚩 for me. I questioned my decision, my hubby questioned my decision. We thought I overreacted & it was a missed opportunity. My daughter is an adult now and has thanked me.........MANY times!!!😊

As a former child actress- I have to say how important it is to have parents on set WITH YOU. You're required to have a gaurdian in set- but too often it's either not a parent or they're too lax and don't follow you around and assume you're good because you're in the studio/theater. Your gaurdian has permission to go EVERYWHERE you go- but often times they don't. I'd also like to point out the stark difference between between America and UK for example- child actors are treated EXTREMELY differrently everywhere else. Take Harry Potter for example- none of those kids had a breakdown or life crisis...America doesnt view child actors the same way as other places do. Here, child actors are more or less just speaking props and viewed as such by most execs in the industry.
My son was the finalist for a reality show. The release form was over 100 pages. I read ALL of it. There were paragraphs of where it said my son would be away from me 8-12 hours a day and i was not allowed on/near the set. He was 8 at the time. No f’in way. I was happy when he didn’t make it. The host might not be a perv but i guarantee he would going to be around perv people or their perv contacts

You say you understand but still, we can't blame the victims though. It's just not their responsibility or their fault for this. Plus, it might not even be their choice- because part of the problem is that victims are silenced in so many ways. Like, look at the public backlash and hate speech that always gets spewed upon the victims in high profile rape cases. Whenever a survivor speaks out, there are consequences. For this specific story with the (former) child stars, industry blacklisting is a huge one. Those are just examples off the top of my head. But there are sooo many ways that victims are forcefully silenced and thwarted regarding attempts to take action, bring awareness, or simply speak aloud their true life experiences! It's these various systems that keep these predators in power and oppress the vulnerable, marginalized and disenfranchised. It's our culture. We have a sickness. (Especially amongst our various elite "powers that be", where our society's social and political influence as well as wealth are all concentrated) But even if it is their choice not to speak about their trauma, abuse/violence survivors have the right to their privacy 100 percent. And it doesn't make them bad or selfish or anything like that. They're the ones who suffered what nobody deserves and can heal however they need to. Their healing should equally be our goal on tackling this problem, just as much as bringing the perpetrators to justice is (and keeping them from harming others, of course). P.S. Sometimes, the victim commenting publically can even make things *worse* for certain cases against the perpetrator. Meaning, the victim talking about their abuser's crimes/misdoings in certain contexts can actually benefit the perpetrator (instead of exposing them). Yeah, it's a horrible position survivors are often put in- which is a huge flaw of the justice system, the media and much more. But that's a whole nother topic. Insidious shit 😩

What Dan does is called “fetish farming” and it is not ok at all! It’s very common online as well even here on RUclips. It’s where someone with an uncommon fetish approaches naive people (usually minors unfortunately) that don’t have knowledge of the fetish and has them unknowingly participate in said fetish. The foot stuff is absolutely just that.
I'm pretty sure most of the actors he hired on his shows were really uncomfortable showing their own feet onscreen. Also (and again an assumption) I think that's why Jeannette refuses to come back for the Icarly reboot. Not just because of the foot fetish but because of the way Dan generally treated his employees. I'm not exactly familiar with the term but I do know that in a specific episode of a T.V series meant for grown ups, an actor's bare foot was showcased multiple times (the series was "The Office"). Yet people didn't complain about it as much. Why? Funny thing (not really funny) is that it's happened to so many child actors; My generation it was the two Corey's. Its mindboggling that these kids I admired when was also a child where being molested on a constant basis.

Being a 90s kid who’s basically the same age as Amanda the toe scene reminds me of even being 10 and being confused even then with the toe skits. I only ever watched the Amanda show and drake and josh (I’m from the uk) out of all the programmes Dan made and it was clear then something wasn’t right with it. I filmed a show at Nickelodeon studios in Hollywood about 7 years ago. Although I never met Dan , I remember signing STRICT contracts about how we could not take pictures in the studio and couldn’t tell anyone we were on the show.
It’s crazy because my mom knows an agent In LA who has sent some kids to audition for Dan before and some of those kids have been on his shows before and I’ll just say that some things that has happened most people don’t even know about🤦♂️ it was best for the kids that the Amanda show was canceled. And yeah I’ve been people are VERY STRICT there about taking pictures in the studios or anything similar to that
i’m worried that some of the main actresses still have to “support” him because dan has blackmail or something on them. he could have photos he could leak or something, it’s a scary thought. i still see these women as victims and i’m not going to call them “sketchy” like a lot of other people cause you don’t know the full situation

I remember Dan as the "fat guy" in Head of the Class. I vividly recall how he had gone through some major diet program to lose weight, and upon returning for the season premiere, he wore a fake fat suit saying that he'd taken a job as a pizza guy and had eaten most of the pizzas. Then he took off the fat suit, and everyone cheered. My mother was really happy for him having lost some weight herself. It was a happy moment in 1980s television (was probably featured in those tabloid mags that I've never looked at, too). Sad to see what became of him, but it's another cautionary tale that I take very seriously as the father of teenagers. I wouldn't let them anywhere near a Nickelodeon Studio if they were offered a starring role and millions in royalties.
The guy that was shot with the pimple was Frankie Grande, Ariana’s older brother. I also recall a rumor/theory that a lot of the boy characters from his shows are modeled after him (Josh, Freddie, Gibby). I think Freddie is supposed to be the ideal version of himself in character form, where as Josh (from the earlier seasons) and Gibby are his versions of himself of how he looks in real life).

Not surprised at all. I worked at a small restaurant when I was 16 (most of us that worked there were under 18) and the owner and his male relative that owns the place was always VERY CREEPY TO US AND WEIRD AND DIDNT SEEM TO UNDERSTAND PERSONAL SPACE. My daughter went for a casting in 09'. So I KNOW this is all most likely true!! My daughter is a natural redhead, and for whatever reason they always want them for supporting roles🤷🏻♀️. They wanted her to be in flip flops (not weird) but then they wanted her to do this "footsy dance" alone in the casting room. I said "No Fuqin way & dipped." I was the ONLY mom to leave. Every other parent was saying "c'mon, hurry up learn the dance. Go in there, go in there. Do whatever they tell u." My daughter cried the whole way home. I couldn't tell her why I made her leave. I didn't even have any concrete evidence that it was sexually inappropriate. It just sent up 🚩🚩🚩 for me. I questioned my decision, my hubby questioned my decision. We thought I overreacted & it was a missed opportunity. My daughter is an adult now and has thanked me.........MANY times!!!😊

Let's just say him and his wife are recently citizens of Greece, where certain sexual preferences are not acknowledged as a crime the way they are here.
As a former child actress- I have to say how important it is to have parents on set WITH YOU. You're required to have a gaurdian in set- but too often it's either not a parent or they're too lax and don't follow you around and assume you're good because you're in the studio/theater. Your gaurdian has permission to go EVERYWHERE you go- but often times they don't. I'd also like to point out the stark difference between between America and UK for example- child actors are treated EXTREMELY differrently everywhere else. Take Harry Potter for example- none of those kids had a breakdown or life crisis...America doesnt view child actors the same way as other places do. Here, child actors are more or less just speaking props and viewed as such by most execs in the industry.
Daniel Radcliffe definitely did have a little crisis in his later teens but he just got everything sorted out and kept acting
My son was the finalist for a reality show. The release form was over 100 pages. I read ALL of it. There were paragraphs of where it said my son would be away from me 8-12 hours a day and i was not allowed on/near the set. He was 8 at the time. No f’in way. I was happy when he didn’t make it. I never knew why my mom wouldn't let me go into acting because she had always supported literally anything else I wanted to do, and I was so angry about it because she never told me why. now I'm 25 and work as a comedian and a production assistant and whaddyaknow, she was fucking right all along

You say you understand but still, we can't blame the victims though. It's just not their responsibility or their fault for this.
Plus, it might not even be their choice- because part of the problem is that victims are silenced in so many ways. Like, look at the public backlash and hate speech that always gets spewed upon the victims in high profile rape cases. Whenever a survivor speaks out, there are consequences. For this specific story with the (former) child stars, industry blacklisting is a huge one. Those are just examples off the top of my head. But there are sooo many ways that victims are forcefully silenced and thwarted regarding attempts to take action, bring awareness, or simply speak aloud their true life experiences!
It's these various systems that keep these predators in power and oppress the vulnerable, marginalized and disenfranchised. It's our culture. We have a sickness. (Especially amongst our various elite "powers that be", where our society's social and political influence as well as wealth are all concentrated)
But even if it is their choice not to speak about their trauma, abuse/violence survivors have the right to their privacy 100 percent. And it doesn't make them bad or selfish or anything like that. They're the ones who suffered what nobody deserves and can heal however they need to. Their healing should equally be our goal on tackling this problem, just as much as bringing the perpetrators to justice is (and keeping them from harming others, of course).
P.S. Sometimes, the victim commenting publically can even make things *worse* for certain cases against the perpetrator. Meaning, the victim talking about their abuser's crimes/misdoings in certain contexts can actually benefit the perpetrator (instead of exposing them). What Dan does is called “fetish farming” and it is not ok at all! It’s very common online as well even here on RUclips. It’s where someone with an uncommon fetish approaches naive people (usually minors unfortunately) that don’t have knowledge of the fetish and has them unknowingly participate in said fetish. The foot stuff is absolutely just that.
I'm pretty sure most of the actors he hired on his shows were really uncomfortable showing their own feet onscreen. Also (and again an assumption) I think that's why Jeannette refuses to come back for the Icarly reboot. Not just because of the foot fetish but because of the way Dan generally treated his employees. I'm not exactly familiar with the term but I do know that in a specific episode of a T.V series meant for grown ups, an actor's bare foot was showcased multiple times (the series was "The Office"). I filmed a show at Nickelodeon studios in Hollywood about 7 years ago. Although I never met Dan , I remember signing STRICT contracts about how we could not take pictures in the studio and couldn’t tell anyone we were on the show.

As a mother of an 8 year old daughter who loves all of these shows. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for posting this and keeping us informed about these disgusting men. I'm disgusted and horrified that these things happened to these poor kids.
I remember Dan as the "fat guy" in Head of the Class. I vividly recall how he had gone through some major diet program to lose weight, and upon returning for the season premiere, he wore a fake fat suit saying that he'd taken a job as a pizza guy and had eaten most of the pizzas. Then he took off the fat suit, and everyone cheered. My mother was really happy for him having lost some weight herself. It was a happy moment in 1980s television (was probably featured in those tabloid mags that I've never looked at, too). Sad to see what became of him, but it's another cautionary tale that I take very seriously as the father of teenagers. I wouldn't let them anywhere near a Nickelodeon Studio if they were offered a starring role and millions in royalties.
