@@miku39chan I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to say, save for that you think Zoe Laverne should be given more leeway. It is not normal or acceptable (or an oopsy) for a 19-year-old to have any form of non-platonic relationship with a 13-year-old (even platonically it's a bit weird). Zoe fully understands the maturity gap as evidenced by her mocking a 13-year-old and saying they should go play with barbies. There are no blurred lines here- she sees 13-year-olds as immature and yet chooses to have a relationship with one. Also, just cause it's legal doesn't mean it's right and the age of consent can have layers. Technically a 12-year-old can consent in my country too- but there's a two-year buffer so they could not consent to relations with someone older than them by two years (this two-year buffer continues up till the person turns 16). Sure, your brain completely develops by around age 25, but it doesn't mean there aren't vast differences in maturity from age 13 to 19. I'm 17 and I see the 12-year-olds at my school as children. Our understanding and perception of the world are so vastly different- our ability to assess what is good for us and what is harmful is too. You can't be perfect as a teen but it isn't hard to avoid predatory behavior.

But before you turn 16, you can ONLY consent to people your age. And it is understandable because they have similar levels of maturity. I used to have a best friend who was just like this. She lied about what other people were doing to her in order to gain sympathy and support from people. For example she told us that her husband was abusive and she was leaving him, that her grandmother was dying and she spent her nights in the hospital with her. None of it was true. Her husband was completely unaware anything was going on and she was actually spending her nights at a dude's house, cheating on her husband. Only once she couldn't keep the lies going and just up and left with her side guy did we realize what was actually going on. She abandoned her husband, kids and friends because she didn't want to be held responsible for her lies and she honestly didn't seem to care or feel bad about it. Keeping someone supporting her at all times, no matter what lies she spewed or what she did, was more important than anything, apparently.

Shocked me that the interviewer didn’t mention the age difference as an issue, completely floored me. Does anyone know if the UK doesn’t have any age cut off of when it become pedophilia? And most people, especially mature ones, feel bad for losing their temper and yelling even if they were provoked into doing so and literally weren't given any other option. Because that's what female abusers do. They corner you so you're only way out is to attack them verbally or physically so they can play the victim. And that is how they manipulate you. Game, set, match. If your Significant Other is pulling this behavior on you, you are in an abusive relationship and you need to seek help immediately. It never gets better and only gets worse. That's what's so evil about female abusers. Their favorite hat to wear is that of victim and that's how they keep you from ever leaving them or ever telling anyone what you are experiencing. They trick you into thinking it's all your fault and they're an innocent victim and use shame and guilt to keep you silent and keep you from ever escaping them. They play the victim to the whole world and paint you to be the bad guy and the abusive one in the relationship.

In 2018 she asked a friend of mine’s younger sister and their friends to have a sleepover with her. She met them while they were taking a walk and she knew they were fans. This situation terrifies me because not enough people talk about how often young adults do take advantage of children qnd teenagers. I remember my friends in high school thought I was a cool freshman for having a nineteen year old boyfriend. He literally treated me like a doll. It is not normal or acceptable (or an oopsy) for a 19-year-old to have any form of non-platonic relationship with a 13-year-old (even platonically it's a bit weird). Zoe fully understands the maturity gap as evidenced by her mocking a 13-year-old and saying they should go play with barbies. There are no blurred lines here- she sees 13-year-olds as immature and yet chooses to have a relationship with one.
Also, just cause it's legal doesn't mean it's right and the age of consent can have layers. Technically a 12-year-old can consent in my country too- but there's a two-year buffer so they could not consent to relations with someone older than them by two years (this two-year buffer continues up till the person turns 16).
Sure, your brain completely develops by around age 25, but it doesn't mean there aren't vast differences in maturity from age 13 to 19. I'm 17 and I see the 12-year-olds at my school as children. Our understanding and perception of the world are so vastly different- our ability to assess what is good for us and what is harmful is too. You can't be perfect as a teen but it isn't hard to avoid predatory behavior.

But before you turn 16, you can ONLY consent to people your age. And it is understandable because they have similar levels of maturity. I used to have a best friend who was just like this. She lied about what other people were doing to her in order to gain sympathy and support from people. For example she told us that her husband was abusive and she was leaving him, that her grandmother was dying and she spent her nights in the hospital with her. None of it was true. Her husband was completely unaware anything was going on and she was actually spending her nights at a dude's house, cheating on her husband. Only once she couldn't keep the lies going and just up and left with her side guy did we realize what was actually going on. She abandoned her husband, kids and friends because she didn't want to be held responsible for her lies and she honestly didn't seem to care or feel bad about it. Keeping someone supporting her at all times, no matter what lies she spewed or what she did, was more important than anything, apparently.

What actually blew my mind is I was watching a series that popped up on my feed here on RUclips and I believe it’s called “Real Life Documentaries” and this particular series was about Teen Mom/Teen Parenting it took place in the UK, my take on it was that it was a UK Vee iOSon of the US mtv series Teen mom. Honestly, Cody is really mature. He tried to make the video as mature and raw as possible. I actually feel pretty bad for him because she was manipulating him. That being said, he was a teen at the time, and while that does not excuse his behavior, it does imply a level of impulsiveness and immaturity. The fact that he admitted he shouldn't have done it and that their relationship was toxic from both sides (not just Zoe's) makes me believe him when he says he "intends to learn from his mistakes."

People like her are why I talk to my son all the time about consent and predators. They come in all shapes and sizes and you have to be careful. He's 11 and he's pretty smart, I just hope what I say sticks in his mind so he looks out. God people are gross.

Unfortunately, some people don't experience the mental and emotional growth needed to see themselves as adults. She still thinks of herself as "a little girl" and saw the 8th grade boy as someone the same age as her, emotionally. That's how a lot of the young predator cases happen. You see it a lot with female teachers especially. Young attractive college graduate teacher sees a "manly" 16 year old and... the rest is criminal history.

This situation terrifies me because not enough people talk about how often young adults do take advantage of children qnd teenagers. I remember my friends in high school thought I was a cool freshman for having a nineteen year old boyfriend. He literally treated me like a doll. Dressed me up in ways he wanted to see me, demeaned the things I enjoyed, hugged and gave affection in ways that I didn't like, but because I was naive and had been groomed and assaulted before, I didn't think his behavior was predatory. I often thought "how could he be predatory if we were both teenagers?" I'm in university now and just having to deal with and face all that trauma. I wish I'd known sooner.
There is such a maturity gap between even nineteen and seventeen years old, let alone nineteen and thirteen. That boy was taken advantage of and it makes me sad. There isnt a point to this comment than to tell other young teenagers - please. You are not the exception if someone older takes an interest in you; you are the rule. They don't love you for your personality, they enjoy that you are easier to control. Please be wary even of older teenagers. Not all predators look like a creepy old man; some might be the pretty and popular seniors at your high school.
I was 16 with a 20 year old and he had quite literally told me "I want you to get so high so I can rape you" at first I was okay with it because I was 16 and I liked to get high. I didnt understand it and I figure because it was his kink id play along. But I had gotten so high I couldn't put my shoes on and he tried to walk me to his car and I tried to fight back and eventually started screaming. Point of the story, sometimes age gaps lead to ppl taking advantage of you. I felt like because I was a sophomore or something and he was in college that I had to listen to him and let him do whatever he wanted to do to me.

My mom "adopts" our friends. She's known as "mom" to every kid that we introduce to her. She had a gaming channel (team speak) called "disfunction gaming" years ago. It was a safe place for gaming minors as my brother was a victim to a preditor a year prior. Everyone called her mom. We still talk to a few of them and my siblings and I see them as our siblings.
