I wake up every morning hoping that Mori will growl at me. I've always thought her cover of "Fly LIke a Bird" was her best Mariah song. To get a real taste of her talent, may I suggest "Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw", obviously sung in Tagalog, one of her native tongues. It's her latest, and sung in front of a band.

It's obviously that she was over flexing the fact she could scream at the very top of her lungs. And that gets boring to the reasonable listeners in an instant...

There are even people who talks and sings the same but very strainy. Her style is just really different. If you want to hear her real talking voice watch her video of "Defying Gravity and "She used to be mine" because in that video she shared some things about herself and she was talking in her normal tone/talking voice. Her voice in this video is what we call pa-cute (talking like a kid or high pitch because it's somewhat seen as cute for some reason). Hope this explanation helps. Stumbled upon Mori's Wish Bus videos back in 2018, it was her original Akin Ka Na Lang and cover of Rise Up by Andra Day. It was sooooooo amazing I really felt the song that it got me hooked, up until today it's become a daily endeavor to watch and rewatch her performances. LOL She has put out a lot now, slayed covers and released new originals. It is a deeeeep rabbit hole. Love how technical your reaction is.

She can sing; we can’t deny that. The tendency of some singers to drop their larynx to create a more rich/full sound (like Christina Aguilera) is just not my thing, though.
Seriously, the only way I can enjoy MC songs are when Mori sings them. On talk, she uses her Tagalog accent which is like that, bright and forward. She speaks a minimum of 3 languages and they all sound different :) Love your opinion which changes as the song goes along. Every song with her is different and in line with what the song requires.

Stumbled upon Mori's Wish Bus videos back in 2018, it was her original Akin Ka Na Lang and cover of Rise Up by Andra Day. It was sooooooo amazing I really felt the song that it got me hooked, up until today it's become a daily endeavor to watch and rewatch her performances. LOL She has put out a lot now, slayed covers and released new originals. It is a deeeeep rabbit hole. Love how technical your reaction is.

She can sing; we can’t deny that. The tendency of some singers to drop their larynx to create a more rich/full sound (like Christina Aguilera) is just not my thing, though.
Seriously, the only way I can enjoy MC songs are when Mori sings them.
On talk, she uses her Tagalog accent which is like that, bright and forward.
She speaks a minimum of 3 languages and they all sound different :)
