Great news that he's back, though I have to say I'm sensing a worrying look in his eyes so I don't know if he'll actually be able to go deep in the tournament without triggering an injury.
Roger fan for life that slowly began to have grudging respect for Rafa some years back… it’s the greatness of your opponent and the contrast of styles that elevates a mere sport into something transcendent…Fed will always be the most graceful duelist of attacking tennis but Rafa remains the primal beast. Novak has exceeded them both but his tennis will never light fires the way these two did . Novak is great but his tennis - precise, calculated , with all its smothering depth, doesn’t pass the eye test when compared to Roger s liquid whip and Rafa s insanely heavy spin.

Djokovic😂won a lot of crucial matches by using strategic racket break, toilet breaks, and body languages and screamings which were anti sportive. He introduced nastiness into tennis, in a very smart and efficient way. He is very intelligent

It's a great satisfaction to see Nadal in good spirits, in good health, and willing to return to the courts, despite the list of physical problems he mentioned. This reminds me of a Spanish football player, who had to abandon his budding career due to serious injuries. This player was called Júlio Iglesias! That's right, for those who don't know, Iglesias started out as a talented football player. While he was recovering in the hospital someone brought him a guitar and the rest is history. I've followed Nadal for the last 20 years and I've really enjoyed his moments of glory (I watched two of his victorious finals at Roland Garros), and I've also suffered from his moments of sadness. I feel like the end is near, the age has arrived for tennis. However, he is still too young for many other activities. I'm sad about the prospect of Nadal disappearing from my imagination soon. There were many emotions! Have you ever thought what a dream it would be Nadal singing "Gwendolyne", like Iglesias in Eurovision 1970, with his unforgettable suit!?
Avoiding injury whilst getting match practice has to be his priority here. He shouldn’t be trying to go all out to win Barcelona and risking more injuries. If he can win 2-3 matches, great, lose the next one, save the body for Roland Garros.
this guy is an absolute warrior, wasn't a fan of him when he was beating Roger, but one has to acknowledge what a legend he is, hopefully we can see him for one last dance at least in Roland Garos !

The good thing for sports, is there's a lot of life left to live afterwards and the maturation process eg becoming a father or doing coaching and so on.
He's made enough and his legend is secure. He's got one more Roland Garros in him but that's it. With 23 Grand Slams it is an incredible career and he's outdone even the great Federer. Joker will still chase a few more and could finish with 26 Grand Slams but all 3 are legends.
He may have 2 more roland garros in him this year. I am sure that is the plan. To win it once or even twice in 2024. That would be awesome.

Rafa will need to take his time returning to the tour this time, as he's made too many mistakes with handling injuries in his later years on the tour. Including his decision to play through an injury at the US Open in a 5-set victory over Taylor Fritz, only to pull out of the tournament the next morning and miss the next several months including the Aussie Open.
