Hey Syeda, I understand you are anxious about your extraction. But remember pain or infection needs to be treated and if that involves extraction of a tooth, then it has to be done. You can't continue with this pain or infection in your bone. Now that we have established the tooth needs to be extracted you need to destroy that wall of FEAR built in your head. All extractions are PAINLESS the only thing uncomfortable is the wound after, which will heal like you would expect a wound to heal. So let get that extraction done quick and you can tell me how it went 😉

I felt little to no pain after getting mine done. I was sensitive and had some minor throbbing but I was back to normal in about a week. My dentists where excellent! Very patient and very good at their jobs!

Just had a root canal 3 days ago and went back for crown prep the very next day. I asked a few ppl and they said it didn't hurt but everyone is different. The endodontist was awesome and the only pain I felt was the pinch from the needles to numb me. It was more so uncomfortable from having my mouth open for 40-50 min.
Actually the amount of pain depends on how much your tooth is infected . If it's an old infection i .e chronic infection it hurts when we put the medication in tooth and if it's a new infection it hurts when we are removing the infected pulp. Overall yes it hurts but ask your dentist to give proper anesthesia . And once it's done it's set for life. I hope this help.
My first sitting was great, maybe because of the anesthesia, and I am sure the doctor found the canals too. But after the second sitting, the doctor did a 'dressing' and since then I am devastated with pain. I need to visit him ASAP i guess.

I just a root canal done today 4/6/22. This has to be the most painful experience I have had in a dentist office, I had a tooth extraction and a prior root canal with no pain, just pressure. This root canal was the worst, so bad it brought tear to my eyes in the chair. And I and not a cry baby at all. The sad part is he didn't finish it. I have to go for him to fill the canal.😢😢😢😢
I am worried about something else, i have a severe deviated nasal septum making it very difficult for me to breath so i have to mouth breathe, now for rct they cover the mouth with a latex sheet for extended periods of time, i wonder how i will get through that.
Just got my first (and my last)RTC done a week ago and it still hurts! The procedure itself wasn’t 100% painless, although it was performed by an Endodontist. $1500 wasted; what I’ve learnt is you are better off getting the tooth pulled since it’s going to break/get reinfected eventually anyway.
there is swelling around my chewing teeth molar one where the Implant is done. there are 2 RCs ahead of that teeth. and even after giving huge dosage s of anaesthesia its been painful

The only painful part is the testing to see if the RCT needs to be done, ie. the refrigerant and tapping with the instrument. Not bad though. After the novocaine, it's smooth sailing and no pain for the procedure.

I have gotten braces, tooth extraction (for braces only) and RCT due to injury. I can assure that if you are getting it done by good dentist and your body reacts to anesthesia well and you take all proper mediaction and precaution, you would not have an inch of pain. Yes even ant bite is more painful than tooth extraction and rct. But I had severe pain when my braces were tightened every month. For a week I was in pain. Could not eat or drink anything cold for 2-3 days atleast. So for me the most painful dental procedure has been Braces.

I have done with my RCT for many years ago but didn't capped. At that time it was little pain while chewing from that side..after that I change my eating side.after so many years again I started chewing from non capped RCT side and I feel much pain. Got my root canal done 4 hours ago, and boy was it painful. I'm not saying it's painful for everyone, majority of the people I've talked to never felt a thing. But yes, it does get painful partly because dentist's tools might be touching the apex which is the gum part below the canal. Inadequate anesthesia might also be a cause and in my case it was a bit of both and funnely enough I had 2 roots in tooth which was "supposed" to have 1 so yeah, process did finally finish and I felt immense pain even after the root canal was done but as of writing this comment, I can't feel a thing. 🙂
@@munchocrisps it went pretty good actually. They numbed my mouth so i do not feel anything but the drilling vibrates ur teeth and it is annoying but not really painful. That the part i hate because the drill lushes cold water and i felt some kind of pain. Other than that it went well. I was vibing and they did their job. No pain after drill Infact i enjoyed it 😭
My RCT experience is very painful, while the procedure is going on i told my doc that I am having severe paint so she give me more anesthesia in different places, still i fill server pain during the procedure. And when I asked the doc she said I have highper sensetive nerves.

@@nanditamajumder5479 yes it's done finally after 4 setting, but also I had mild pain on that tooth for more than one month and sometimes it's feel of uneasiness in that tooth, and after reducing the pain completely i had done the capping also. Hope you won't feel the pain after RCT, Good luck 👍
I had a filling on edge of my molar teeth but that went few inch down after 2 yrs, and i was feeling cold sensation when i put water in mouth or chew anything by that portion, Dr removed filling & said Pulp is exposed in molar teeth, Dr advised to do root canal after few days, But IAM scared can i do fillings again, to bypass RCT

It is possible that the decay is not visible on the outside but it is on the inside I had the same problem when I was chewing it had an intense pain until one day the teeth crack open revealing the cavity half of my teeth were gone and the dentist said I might need a root canal so I am sitting with a root canal
My root canal wasn’t painful but, two days later. It was painful to the touch and I couldn’t sleep. Plus couldn’t eat anything on that side. Very painful. Thank God for pain meds.

I got pain very much while root canal procedure. I was given less anasthesia because of my small age. It really hurts and the pain was real. I suggest you to be powerful since rct is better. And moreover because of my luck... Ny rct failed and I need to do rct again

I got my root canal yesterday. It was painless but very uncomfortable feeling so much things drill in my mouth nd having my mouth wide open for long. My anxiety wss on High, i was literally shaking during the procedure 😭 When the anesthesia completely weared off on the 2nd day, i felt excruciating pain on the tooth with the temporary crown. I couldn't even sleep. My cheeks even hurt to touch. I've heard some ppl say the pain goes away and comes back after months or years, or the root canal wasn't done properly. Im terrified, seems like root canals aren't always effective 😫 If only i had Flossed, I wouldn't be going through this. I have major regrets 💔 i literally just hate life right now
This is my fear, most my cavities end up being deeper than they thought so I end up feeling a little nerve shooting pain and that is already unbearable for me. They tried to do just the pulp cap last time but it never got better and I never ate on that side since that apt months ago so I have to have a root canal and I am absolutely terrified of feeling any of it. I have the same level of anxiety and no way to calm that. Even worse, I jolt my head when my nerves are hit like that....
How can we tell if our filling needs to be replaced? I heard you need a crown at the age of 18. My second to last tooth on my lower jaw has a filling and it seams to cover most of the tooth but I dont think it is deep. Yep, after the numbness wears off, your body starts to react to those pressed nerves with major shock! Then once it realizes your teeth are fine, it gets better pretty fast.
Done it without anesthesia for the experience and punishment and yes there is pain you can suck it up but not always bacause i was already tired of work so I don't want to fill pain for rest of the day Final though go to the dentist appointment

The actual root canal didn't hurt while under anaesthetic but I am almost a week in and my cheek hurts so much and have pain coming from the tooth area.. I have 2more sessions to go .. I am not Able it's a slow process for sure .. and no way is it pain free, well not for me . We are all different so hopefully anyone considering this if it saves a tooth it might very well be worth it.. I let ye know in 12mts 🙄🙄

I had an abscessed tooth that I neglected for a few years. I finally got a root canal 3 weeks ago. I never had any pain beforehand just a gum bubble that would drain. Since my root canal I have had constant pressure on that side of my face with some pain and a swollen feeling. I was given antibiotics twice and taking ibuprofen but nothing is working. Is there a reason this is happening? I went back to the endontist twice for this with no help.
That gum bubble is basically a draining pus channel, Seems like the root canal isn't working for you. You might be better off with that tooth extracted.
Doctor Shanker MDS thank you for your reply. The gum bubble disappeared after the root canal, but my face now has constant pressure since that day. I also have cheek pain and some nerve pain in the skin. I went back twice and was told I was fine. No xray was taken when I went back, just looked at. I asked about hitting a nerve possibly and was told he didn’t think so. I’m not sure why 3 weeks later I’m having more issues than beforehand. Thank you again for replying.

Sorry to disagree just had a second session as per my doc infection had reached deep in the nere and despite two sided Local anesthesia.....there was mild pain but in the end the doc told me before hand and inserted the cleaning tool so deep I had a jarring pain right from my left molar going upwards to my left eye till above my eyebrow,,,and this lasted for 1.5 hrs I had to take kettrol DT some how anaged to eat from the right side so yeah Root Canals are painful!

did you cry hard? My tooth is badly infected because I could see the dark stain covers half of the tooth.

On my 1st sitting my dentist gave me local anesthesia there was little pain but on my 2nd sitting treatment was painful as my dentist didn't gave me local anaesthesia and pain was unbearable my dentist told me pain in 2nd sitting is essential to know how deep is the infection.Is it the case
I also had exact experience as you had. Today is my second sitting and she also didn't gave me local anaesthesia, when I asked why, she said the same thing as you have said. I have done with my RCT for many years ago but didn't capped. At that time it was little pain while chewing from that side..after that I change my eating side.after so many years again I started chewing from non capped RCT side and I feel much pain. Is it due to not capping that tooth or some other problem plz suggest me what I do in that case
Just cap the tooth with zirconium cap. Everything will be fine. I think so. But you should decide either you want to go for it or not.

Got my root canal done 4 hours ago, and boy was it painful. I'm not saying it's painful for everyone, majority of the people I've talked to never felt a thing. But yes, it does get painful partly because dentist's tools might be touching the apex which is the gum part below the canal. Inadequate anesthesia might also be a cause and in my case it was a bit of both and funnely enough I had 2 roots in tooth which was "supposed" to have 1 so yeah, process did finally finish and I felt immense pain even after the root canal was done but as of writing this comment, I can't feel a thing. 🙂

@@munchocrisps it went pretty good actually. They numbed my mouth so i do not feel anything but the drilling vibrates ur teeth and it is annoying but not really painful. That the part i hate because the drill lushes cold water and i felt some kind of pain. Other than that it went well. I was vibing and they did their job. No pain after drill

My RCT experience is very painful, while the procedure is going on i told my doc that I am having severe paint so she give me more anesthesia in different places, still i fill server pain during the procedure. And when I asked the doc she said I have highper sensetive nerves.

@@nanditamajumder5479 yes it's done finally after 4 setting, but also I had mild pain on that tooth for more than one month and sometimes it's feel of uneasiness in that tooth, and after reducing the pain completely i had done the capping also. Hope you won't feel the pain after RCT, Good luck 👍
I had a filling on edge of my molar teeth but that went few inch down after 2 yrs, and i was feeling cold sensation when i put water in mouth or chew anything by that portion, Dr removed filling & said Pulp is exposed in molar teeth, Dr advised to do root canal after few days,
But IAM scared can i do fillings again, to bypass RCT
Get the RCT coz you’d still face problem later even if you fill it.

It is possible that the decay is not visible on the outside but it is on the inside I had the same problem when I was chewing it had an intense pain until one day the teeth crack open revealing the cavity half of my teeth were gone and the dentist said I might need a root canal so I am sitting with a root canal
My root canal wasn’t painful but, two days later. It was painful to the touch and I couldn’t sleep. Plus couldn’t eat anything on that side. Very painful. Thank God for pain meds.

I got pain very much while root canal procedure. I was given less anasthesia because of my small age. It really hurts and the pain was real. I suggest you to be powerful since rct is better. And moreover because of my luck... Ny rct failed and I need to do rct again

I got my root canal yesterday. It was painless but very uncomfortable feeling so much things drill in my mouth nd having my mouth wide open for long. My anxiety wss on High, i was literally shaking during the procedure 😭 When the anesthesia completely weared off on the 2nd day, i felt excruciating pain on the tooth with the temporary crown. I couldn't even sleep. My cheeks even hurt to touch. I've heard some ppl say the pain goes away and comes back after months or years, or the root canal wasn't done properly. Im terrified, seems like root canals aren't always effective 😫 If only i had Flossed, I wouldn't be going through this. I have major regrets 💔 i literally just hate life right now
This is my fear, most my cavities end up being deeper than they thought so I end up feeling a little nerve shooting pain and that is already unbearable for me. They tried to do just the pulp cap last time but it never got better and I never ate on that side since that apt months ago so I have to have a root canal and I am absolutely terrified of feeling any of it. I have the same level of anxiety and no way to calm that. Even worse, I jolt my head when my nerves are hit like that....

My second to last tooth on my lower jaw has a filling and it seams to cover most of the tooth but I dont think it is deep. Yep, after the numbness wears off, your body starts to react to those pressed nerves with major shock! Then once it realizes your teeth are fine, it gets better pretty fast.

Done it without anesthesia for the experience and punishment and yes there is pain you can suck it up but not always bacause i was already tired of work so I don't want to fill pain for rest of the day

The actual root canal didn't hurt while under anaesthetic but I am almost a week in and my cheek hurts so much and have pain coming from the tooth area.. I have 2more sessions to go .. I am not Able it's a slow process for sure .. and no way is it pain free, well not for me . We are all different so hopefully anyone considering this if it saves a tooth it might very well be worth it.. I let ye know in 12mts 🙄🙄

I had an abscessed tooth that I neglected for a few years. I finally got a root canal 3 weeks ago. I never had any pain beforehand just a gum bubble that would drain. Since my root canal I have had constant pressure on that side of my face with some pain and a swollen feeling. I was given antibiotics twice and taking ibuprofen but nothing is working. Is there a reason this is happening? I went back to the endontist twice for this with no help.
That gum bubble is basically a draining pus channel, Seems like the root canal isn't working for you. You might be better off with that tooth extracted.
Doctor Shanker MDS thank you for your reply. The gum bubble disappeared after the root canal, but my face now has constant pressure since that day. I also have cheek pain and some nerve pain in the skin. I went back twice and was told I was fine. No xray was taken when I went back, just looked at. I asked about hitting a nerve possibly and was told he didn’t think so. I’m not sure why 3 weeks later I’m having more issues than beforehand. Thank you again for replying.

Sorry to disagree just had a second session as per my doc infection had reached deep in the nere and despite two sided Local anesthesia.....there was mild pain but in the end the doc told me before hand and inserted the cleaning tool so deep I had a jarring pain right from my left molar going upwards to my left eye till above my eyebrow,,,and this lasted for 1.5 hrs I had to take kettrol DT some how anaged to eat from the right side so yeah Root Canals are painful!
