Damn, I wouldn’t be surprised if Ford started putting out Non-Serviceable vehicles in the near future. I would hate to be an Automotive Tech these days, the stress must be crazy on these guys.
Yo this helped me a lot. Biggest pains were detaching/attaching the positive cable and simply taking the alternator in and out in the first place. Regardless I managed to get the job done all the way, and I’d be much broker if this video didn’t exist. You da man!
Well I wasn't paying attention and bought the wrong version... so it didn't fit and I couldn't return it because i shaved some of the guards around output, before I found out. Then the regulator wire broke...lol my luck. Had to order one ($30) and splice it to very little wire with no room as you know. So put old one back but still ran new 1/0 gauge for big 3. $500 mistake. Sucks. But the video was still very helpful.
Ehh it could be worse. My Avenger was a pain. Had to move the a/c compresser and its lines to drop the alt out. This looks a lot more simple. I'm trying this soon.
I’m trying to put a 320ah high output mechman alternator, just wondering if my car will handle that without any electrical problems or if I have to upgrade electrical? Someone help plz
Hey man thanks for the video! My focus just freaked out on me and wont start anymore, the dash and lights are flickering like crazy when I try to start it. Could this be caused by a bad alternator? The battery is only 2 years old. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
@@anythinggoespealyvids921 hi man, thanks for the video. I take off the alternator but i was wondering if it's possible to replace the rectifier or diod? I'm pretty sure it's the only thing bad because the rest looks almost new, but it's very difficult to fin this rectifier part I can't find even by Amazon .
Josue Hernandez sometimes it gets really dirty in that area, you might have to spray some brake cleaner and wipe it down to make it more visible, when you remove the 13 mm nut, the 5 mm screw should be more visible to see, if your looking for a replacement screw, it’s probably called a upper alternator screw
Need to do this tomorrow. Yours is the best video I’ve seen. Thank you for taking the time.
Right to the point. Love that you explain every detail and no extra bull. Great video, thanks

Thanks for actually showing the bolts I just watch a video of the side of a car while the guy worked on the car
Thanks for the vid...getting ready to change mine out soon...thx!

Thank you 🙏🏻 the best video out there.
Excellent. 👍👍
Good video, I've done this job. I'm trying to figure out why I wrestled that thing into position. And yours seemed to slip right in there!
Nice video. Very informative
Thank you so much for this video. I'm putting in a 250 amp in soon, this video will help so much. This alternator is in a terrible place!!!
Jeff Brandt did that work out for you? I’m trying to put my 320amp alternator, did u have to do any electrical upgrades?
Did it fit & did u have any electrical problems after ?

@@zackgomer i would definitely upgrade wire while you are at it. Do the big 3/4. I'm assuming it for stereo.?. Mine is ok wish I bought correct one.
They put the alternator in the worst possible place to make it hard to work on. Terrible design

It is a very helpful video but when i got to the nut terminal I couldn’t get it in the right position to remove driving me insane lol
Us that 1.6 tdci?

Upgrade wire for sure

You can try a jump start, if that don’t work, then it’s probably the alternator.
@@anythinggoespealyvids921 Ok so if the alternator goes then it wont even try to turn over at all?
Yup, that’s exactly what happened to my car.
@@anythinggoespealyvids921 Thanks man, I'm gonna try that next.

Did you have your car on a ramp. Sorry I'm new to working on my car...
Belen Rodriguez yes, using ramps or jacks gives you more arm space to get it from the bottom
Hello what should the torque specs be ?
@ 0:57 where may i find this bolt? I'm having a hard time finding it
Josue Hernandez are you talking about the 5mm bolt
@@anythinggoespealyvids921 No, just the screw that you pulled out from the alternator with the 5mm. I have no idea whats it called lol
