- This episode features one of my favorite from Gen II, the dark pokemon: Houndoom! Did you know Houndour aren't actually able to be caught in the Johto region? Trainers had to travel back to Kanto to catch them in Gold / Silver!

BAG _Plays Keep in mind, the Pokedex says that’s what the flames do when it’s angry, so not all Houndoom flames are like that. And even then, you’re right about Pokemon Centres. When it comes to healing things, they are ridiculous. Maybe they just surgically remove the piece of skin that’s burned and some if the flesh underneath

Andres Marrero Considering it has teleporters, the previously mentioned healing, and has multiple examples of artificially created life, it’s a lot more advanced than ours.
@@aaroncampbell586 also a literal time machine, dimensional travel, resurrection, flying castles and fortresses made centuries ago, matter to energy complete transfer, exploration of the dream world, and more. They might be extremely advanced in both technology and magic. Though I would say that the pokemon world is best at the art of sealing and binding. Too bad we haven't gotten to see any of it.
@@andresmarrero8666 But they are still unable to bring back dead Pokemon or humans, at least not in the way they were before, but almost fatal wounds? Cutted limbs? 4 degree burns? Not a problem at all!
Though that has an in-universe explanation, since souls are a real thing in Pokemon, you can't revive a deceased Pokemon and expect for it to act like before its death, since while its body is alive again, its soul is still in the realm of the deaths, and you can't possibly bring back that with science... or can you?

@@rat161 Less so if you remember the entries are written by a kid and quite a few sound like exaggeration/an over active imagination. ; p That aside though if it is true I'm guessing the pain never going away is only for humans and not other pokemon... otherwise you completely shouldn't be allowed to battle with them.
@@kioku119 No no, they aren't, Pokédex entries are actually written by the Pokédex itself, as Prof. Oak comments in the start of the game, being a highly-advanced artificial intelligence.
It should be noted however, that several of the Pokédex entries are myths and folklore of the region, rather than scientific articles, which includes all the ones starting as: "It is said".
With this in mind, Houndoom's ever-hurting flames could be a tale, an exaggeration of reality; since its flames are made out of combusted toxins, it would feel like the now poisoned skin where the fire touched "burns forever".
Having a Houndoom as your pet,I can tell you that Robbers/Thieves won't be coming to the neighborhood

My guess, the reason why there's "the pain will never go away" entry is bc in the past, before healing/burn potions existed (dont have knowledges on items), people and pokemon would suffer from never ending burns

I’ve been playing Pokémon for years & could never really understand the mechanics or numbers, but the world & the biology of it always fascinates me to no end. These Pokédex entries you are doing are fantastic, showing the emotion behind each monster & the little tidbits for catching them in the games! I binged watched them all, I was so impressed! Keep up the good work & I’ll reference these entries when I can! (P.S. You just earned a new subscriber, my dude!)
(Scroll down for my suggestions & thoughts for the suggestions.)
List of Pokémon I would love to see: (Two per Gen, giving a sentence explaining why)
Gen 1:
Pikachu (Because Obvious choice is obvious... 😄)
Primeape / Mankey (It’s about time to diversify the typing, I feel seeing a fighting type would work out pretty good.)
Gen 2:
Xatu (This one should be relatively easy to draw in this style & has history pertaining to Aztec culture, which is a plus.)
Togepi (Ever since I watched the anime, I thought “What is this thing?!” & would love to know more, especially when it switched types from Normal to Fairy.)
Gen 3:
Plusle & Minun (Two for one entry, would love to see how they pull off the electric Pom-poms & helping others in Hospitals.)
Absol (Don’t know much about this one, but the design is neat & could provide some good backstory)
Gen 4:
Luxray (Lions are my favorite animal, there has not been a Electric type yet, & the design for it is so cool!)
Rotom (Seeing the different forms from machines could be fun to do, maybe even a chance to take over the Pokédex, as a gag or some extra fun, since Rotom is in the Pokédex in Sun & Moon.)
Pokémon I wish (Gen 5-7 / other, I know these will never be made, but I can dream...)
Gen 5:
Zebstrika (Zebra inspired Pokémon, but a little confused on the typing & would love to know more.)
Trubbish (For a literal “Trash” Pokémon, it’s god dang cute & would love to see how it functions in the wild.)
Gen 6:
Pyroar (I LOVE LIONS!!! 🦁)
Aegislash (A sword & shield Pokémon, sign me up immediately!)
Gen 7:
Decidueye (My second fav animals are owls, so it’s really cool to see this awesome starter!)
Mimikyu (An air of mystery surrounds this Shy cosplayer Pokémon & would love to find out more)
Other:
Missingno. (Maybe for a halloween special or an April Fools day video, maybe?)

I am seeing lots of comments about people talking about how you can just heal a burn from Houndoom. They are talking about canonically, not in the games. Canonically if you get burned by Houndoom’s fire, the pain will never go away, even if you get healed.

Once I got burnt from a toaster oven. Imagine if a Houndoom heated that up... I would be in- actually, not too much pain. By now I would've learned to deal with it.
