- Allison Hagendorf, the host of 2013 Times Square New Year's Eve was joined by the President of Countdown Entertainment, Jeffrey Straus to test the "airworthiness" of the confetti, eight stories above Times Square.
On New Year's Eve itself the release of one ton of confetti is carefully coordinated and is released by hand from buildings all around Times Square.
