  • Join us for a night in Maol Bhuidhe, possibly Scotland’s remotest bothy, after summiting two wild Corbetts in the heart of the Scottish Highlands.
    In between rain showers and high gusts of wind, we had some incredible views over the fringes of Kintail, into Mullardoch, and the Monar Forest. Maol Bhuidhe provided a warm and cosy home for the night, which had recently been renovated by the Mountain Bothy Association. You can find out about more of the incredible work they do, find a bothy near you, or learn more about volunteering opportunities on their website: www.mountainbo...
    For this fast and light adventure, Ben used the Bonfus Iterus 38L pack and Megs is using the Osprey Tempest Velocity 30L. Ruadh carried most of his own gear in his Ruffwear Front Range backpack, including his ECO Outback Dreamer sleeping bag from Hurtta.
    The heat exchanger camping pot we used was the Fire Maple 600ml G3 Petrel: amzn.to/4g2JGJ8
    Join us as we talk lightweight gear, hiking, camping and all things outdoors in a remote and wild Scottish setting.

    A fine trip guys. Yooz are Ronnie daft these days eh. 😉 Tis a fine bothy too. Ruadh is a wee trooper. 😍 Had this on the telly the other day but had to turn it off. My 2 love to bark at the TV. Dogs, cats, animals, even cartoons. 🙈 It was funny at first, now it's just nippy. 🙈😂

He’s such a great wee doggy, loves the hills! Hahah our pets have such endearing individual quirks don’t they? 😆

      Oh wow, this trip was in August too! Our paths must’ve almost crossed. Looking forward to heading in from the Kintail side, we’ve got a couple of Corbetts over that way to bag still. Perhaps one for our time off over Christmas & New Year 👀 sounds like you had a great time! Lurg Mhor & Bidein a'Choire Sheasgaich are stunning Munros too. The MBA have done amazingly with the maintenance haven’t they! Thanks so much for watching, appreciate it pal 🙏🏼

    A lovely outing to watch, Rua looks full of beans! A question, I was rewatching your excellent New Year's winter camp video from the start of the year and as an aspiring winter camper I was wondering what is your approach for dealing with the snow beneath the spot you pitch the tent, do you dig it out first or just go on top?

    Quick Q, does the gas canister fit inside the fire maple?

    • @OutdoorIntrigue
      @OutdoorIntrigue  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi 👋🏼, yeah a 100g canister fits and the Soto windmaster fits on top which is really handy. Performance is good but you can tell it’s not a perfect fit sometimes. For 20 quid it’s very good though.
