do you have any links for lenses for this thing because i get allot of glare on board or just tell me what i need to google and is there any standard for lenses for this thing
Thank you, i've been looking at this one for a few months now. There are models with two leds on gooseneck thingies. It looks awful and I thought why would someone want to have that. But after seeing your review, that might actually be the best solution there is. I would never have thought about the problem with the reading of the tiny letters that it is washed out by the light. A brand which makes this things knows that as well you would say. Anywho, thanks for the review. There weren't any when this hit the marked and I immediately thought it would be interesting for me. I want to use it for electronics/leds and model building/painting. I really would like to do more with the combination of those things, for instance soldering tiny leds on model buildings or fairground attractions. But that is so freakingly tiny nowadays that I think this would be the best solution. And perhaps I'll make RUclips videos about it, then that function would come in very handy too.
@@alexanderpasnl Tag your videos if you decide to make them ! Also since I made this video there is a newer version of the camera with an Autofocus so this is also worth considering before you make any purchase! Thanks for your comments
@@JFIXX1 Yeah, saw that one from TomLov, which is exactly the same. I am so in doubt right now. Ali Express has this one with the regular stand for 146 euros for sale. That is an amazing price and under 150 euro (incl free shipping), where we in The Netherlands need to start to pay extra import taxes and so on. So it's 146 euro and that's it. The one with the arm, the flex, costs the same but has 82 euro shipping costs 😞 So thats 230 together and then the import duties add another 20%, so it's end up costing me almost 280 which is double the amount of the regular stand! But the flex would be so much better haha
@@JFIXX1 That weird, I reacted but now I don't see my reaction any more. I am terribly in doubt right now, since Ali Express has this microscope now for sale for 146 euro incl. free shipping. Since that is under 150 euro, I don't need to pay extra import taxes from around 17-20% in The Netherlands. Due to back to school actions, it'll even come down to 134 euro which is a steal! But unfortunately it's the one with the regular/small stand. The flex costs the same, but has 82 euro shipping costs... is 230 + added taxes will be around 280 and it will be delivered in... end of October! Oh my. That's double the price and two months longer shipping than the standard version. Even looked at buying the arm separately, but then the arm alone costs an extra 120 euros. On one hand I already thought it'll cost me around 300 and I was fine with that and it gives me a lot of freedom with the flex arm. On the other hand... the exact same microscope for less than 50% of that price.I don't know if I can justify those extra costs to myself.
Would be good if you could do a side by side with a flagship phone camera with microscope app. I use a galaxy z fold 2 and works just as good as what you've shown here as far as magnification goes. I can't justify spending more money on another device.
Thanks I also agree with you I have the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and the camera and zoom is amazing and great quality. However while it's good for recording video etc for me it's not great for working on as ideally I want to have it looking top down so I can't see the screen. The microscope has a much bigger screen. Also I don't want to be interrupted with phone calls etc in the middle of doing a job. I could get a second dedicated phone perhaps but the cost of my phone is over £1000 so the microscope is a fraction of the price and it's also better for youtube eith the HDMI output for recording
You are right but the money wasnt too much of a consideration. I think the only benefit would be to gauge depth while soldering etc but unfortunately, I do not have very good binocular vision. I also like the idea of being able to glance at test equipment like multimeter or oscilloscope at the same time as looking at the screen. This was the best spec microscope of this type I could find. I will see how it goes over time and look at other options if I struggle.
@@JFIXX1 I also don't have much in the way of binocular vision. I've just got a trinoqular scope, but I think i would prefer this type more, or one like northridgefix uses.
Thank you for the review. Can the optic be tilted upward? If so, can the screen be tilted in orden to remain vertical? Does it have a photografic stand screw inlet?
Ok it doesn't have any camera mount screw. The stand does rotate 45 degrees but the screen and microscope are attached to each other they can't move idenpenditaly
Good morning, I've just seen your video on the Elikliv EM4K Microscope, a very nice video. I would like to ask you a question: how do you recharge the battery? And can I leave the power cable on all the time? Thank you in advance for your feedback. Best regards
Thank you for your comment the battery is charged via the USB-C cable that can be left attached all the time which I plan to do. The battery life I would estimate would be maybe 3 or 4 hours
I have not used the scope yet for any work I still need to play around with the focus and height to get the best possible image. I will see how it looks when I attempt some repairs
I think it is, but the screen isn't captured in focus by the camera for youtube, you can see that if he moves te camera. Same as with the monitor. I though oh my god, that is a terrible quality, but then the camera focusses on the monitor and then it's sharp as could be.
Maybe you can try also a polarisation filter instead of the uv filter for elimating reflections.

Elikliv just came out with a version of this microscope that has autofocus. Would you say it's worth it? How is the focus on this model?

is it posible to disable black bands on top and bottom of the screen?
I don't think so but I will double check - the hdmi output doesn't have them tho
