Omg you passed by Douro lock 24. I love going swimming and fishing there. Lakefield also has a nice sandy beach. I also agree on the cycling paths. Cyclists ride a lot in that area.
I’m going to try and do this when it’s not so hot in the season but now who know as we have gone back to lockdown. 😖 Thanks for these vids, very helpful for trying to plan
Another interesting video ,thanks for showing me another part of my province. I had heard the name Trent-Severn before but really didn't know anything about it. I'm sure there are a lot of other people who have traveled to England and France to enjoy the canals there but didn't even realize we have the same here. The Ontario Tourist board should be sponsoring you. Thanks again.
Thank you. It's a pretty neat piece of infrastructure that we're lucky to have here, although I'm sure a very tiny percentage of Ontarians have experienced the entire canal system from one end to the other. My main goal with these videos is to inspire others to do their own adventures. I believe you will find that any part of the world has hidden treasures like this that are waiting to be explored.
There are different options for passes and lots of info about them on the Parks Canada website. I ordered a canoe/kayak seasons pass which was $4.50 per foot, plus shipping. It worked out to $76 for the 16' foot canoe. The pass is a large blue sticker that I placed on the bow of the canoe. You can see it in my Day 10 and beyond videos. Prior to that I just had an email printout as my prove of purchase.
Are you sure it's the law? I don't see any signs saying so. But you're right, in addition to it making an echo sound, it does make oncoming traffic aware that someone is coming.
@@cjhoyle perhaps im wrong, i was certain according to city bylaw it was mandatory! If im wrong kindly forgive me! Either way these videos are amazing!
i enjoyed this tremendously thank you
Thank you, I'm really glad to hear!

We enjoyed another nice day of scenery and paddling with you...thanks for sharing. Looking forward to Day 9!
Thanks for watching!
Wow
Thanks.
I am enjoying the canoe trip through the Trent-Severn water way. Interesting the Peterborough Lift Lock is the highest in the world.
Thanks, I'm glad you're enjoying it!
Peterborough has the Canadian Canoe Museum. I went there in 2013 an to its new location this year (2024).
Another great adventure. Peterborough looks nice. See you on day 9.
Thanks, it's a really nice city!

It's a really nice area, and a part of the trip that I remember fondly.
Peterborough looks like a nice little town.
For sure, it's a really nice city.

Nice. I hope you're able to!
Was the Quaker Oats factory the highlight of your trip?! I thought you would pause to tour it. Excellent video.
haha I'd definitely enjoy seeing a tour of it.

This was very interesting and entertaining thank you for sharing your adventures
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed!
Loved it. Can’t wait to try the corn thing next season. Thanks again!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it.
Btw did you need a pass to pass the locks?
Yes you do, although you can portage around the locks for free. I discussed my decision to buy the lock pass in my introduction video for the trip.
And where do you place a pass? I guess it is easier rather than partaging the canoe over the locks.
How much was the pass?

@@cjhoyle Thanks !
I try to go very often to Lakefield.
They honk their horns going through the tunnel cause its only one lane! Its law to honk so as not to have an accident!
