Oh thank you so much for that! Yes it's definitely effort on my part, I spend much of my "down time" editing the episodes, but honestly, it's all worth it - we'll have our entire trip on video for years to come! Thanks so much for watching! :-)
Haha! You should definitely ride the lift locks when you can! It's an experience unlike any other! The feeling of being on your boat, in a bathtub, going up or down, is amazing! but a little scary! YES BUDDY BOATS ARE THE BEST!! We are so grateful for these folks and spending our Loop with them has been amazing! Thanks for watching! :-)
The rock painting is cool, and thank you Chris for showing strainer maintenance. I help out on the farm so I'm interested in how to keep things going. The way you 2 do the locks was very cool, he knows where you are at and you know where he's at. Thank you. Great show. Learned a lot on this one. The heights of those locks would have made me nervous. 😊
Hey David! Glad you enjoyed this week's episode! The height is definitely intimidating but I go into them thinking... if these other boats can do it, so can we... but I was nervous in some of them, especially the 2 lift locks! Thanks for watching! :-)
Hello! We very much enjoyed Orillia! We hit up Mariposa Market and was so overwhelmed with the yummy choices! We stuck with the bakery items and the GIANT cinnamon rolls! We also ate at Rustica and it was so good! The people at the marina were so nice and helpful, we stayed there 3 nights and enjoyed every minute of it! Thanks for watching! :-)
Our paths crossed last week. I go past the Gamebridge lock on my way north to my cottage. It would have been nice to meet you but our schedules are busy & I understand how difficult it would have been to coordinate. I'm very happy that you are finding the Trent-Severn enjoyable. Enjoy the rest of your Canadian journey. Cheers, Jack
Hey there! Oh very cool, you have a cottage near Gamebridge!?! Wow! This area is so incredibly beautiful! We saw so many amazing homes, I am happy for you to have a cottage in this area! We are now in GB and it's beyond beautiful here! Thanks for watching! :-)
@@coolbeansloop2024 Thanks for your reply Lisa. My cottage is actually about a good hour & a half north of Gamebridge on Lake Bernard near Sundridge. If you Google Lake Bernard, you will find that it is the largest fresh water lake in the world WITHOUT an island. Just a bit of trivia. Keep enjoying your journey & I will continue to enjoy following you. Cheers, Jack
There is another you tube channel, Boating with Bugaboo that hangs out on the Trent Severn waterway. I have watched him for years. That is some spectacular countryside. Once again, than you for the maps and day to day descriptions.
Hi Scott, nice to know, we will have to watch that channel! We have definitely enjoyed the scenic views of the Trent Severn and are a little sad to have finished it this week! But I have to tell you, the Georgian Bay is spectacular! Thanks so much for watching! :-)
When you exit the Trent Severn system go to Midland (west) visit Ste. Marie among the Huron historical site, the Martyr's Shrine (take a walk up the trail of the stations of the cross) and then go up the coast a bit to Penetanguishene and Discovery Harbour.
Hello! Thanks for the recommendation! We have already exited and passed Midland, but are really enjoying the north banks of the Georgian Bay! Thanks for watching! :-)
Hey guys, I noticed during the stern time-lapse at about 15:30 noticed the American flag was rolled up and clipped with a blue clothes pin. Why was it stored that way?
Just stumbled across your channel today and binged watched several videos. We are in the planning phase of a June 2026 trip through the Trent Severn waterway. Currently getting our new to us 2005 Sea Ray Sundancer up to snuff, learning the boat, and getting some shorter trips under our belt. Thank you for creating and sharing your videos. I enjoyed every moment of them.
I noticed that in your stern time-lapse at about 15:30, your American flag was rolled up and secured by a blue clothes pin. Was there a reason you had stored it that way? Loved the time-lapse portions of the video and your locking procedures. Stay safe!!
Hey CS Ranch! I rolled it up so that when I mounted my rear-facing camera to video the lift from behind, the flag wouldn't flap around in front of the lens, blocking the view! I unrolled it immediately after filming the video! :-)
Hey David! We are all just playing our schedules by ear! Chris and I are going to the AGLCA Fall Rendezvous in Alabama in October, so we need to make sure we keep moving - if the other boats want to take it slower, we will just give them big hugs and head off! No plans at the moment! Thanks for watching! :-)
Hi there, we left for our Loop on Valentines Day, so we have been looping for +179 days now, so I am counting Travel Days as only the days we travel! Thanks for watching! :-)
Thank you for sharing your looping experiences. I appreciate the effort it takes to produce these videos. Thank you!

I love those lift locks! I want to ride those! I love that the three boats are working together. Buddy Boats for the win! Thank you again.

Lots of interesting information and great boating tips, as always - thanks for keeping these vids coming!
Hey Kari! Thanks so much! We are glad you are enjoying the videos. We will keep it up until we cross our wake! :-)
This video is so awesome I just watched it for the 2nd time!
Well thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it! :-)
I live in ORILLIA! Never had the opportunity to travel thru the lock system here, so happy to see it from your perspective! Safe travels in Canada!

You mentioned travel day 79. Have you done 50% of the loop in 79 days for that is just days you have traveled?
