I've been having a blast. One thing I would recommend is don't use all your crew cards in the beginning. I recommend you choose the character you like then save the rest you get until the crewmates cap at lvl 45 in the crewmate card selection. This way you get all the abilities unlocked for each new character and you can save your mastery points
Smart
When does that happen? Immediately after beating story?
If you want to unlock crew mates when you hit maniac the level will be 60 that's the max. I have a full team of 100s
What are good characters to start with, I’m not familiar with this world but I’m excited!!
@@DigitalMaruthe base characters given to you in game are highly praised, from what I can see. Rackam and Rosetta are especially well liked. For unlockables, there are only a few characters that are technically more complex like Narmaya. I'd just pick one or two unlockable characters that seem interesting enough to put effort into learning and save the rest of your unlock currency for post story.
I hope instead of live service they do an expansion each year adding a new tier of content, increase lvl caps, new bosses and new chars - if the game worked like that I'd be happy dropping a good box price per xpac
That would be so fun!
My thoughts exactly. It is kinda scary lots of games are adopting live service input
Live service is so much better imo
@@Lyzander911 live service only depend on how much they can gross per Q.
@@Lyzander911Wrong!
Thank you arekkz for this preview and also the mention of the pc performance was a bit worried but now I can't wait for the game to release and jumping into the action with my friends on pc.
The fact that he said this game would BENEFIT from being a live service game is beyond insane! But he's right overall, for a first try from a studio like Cygames, this came out pretty well. Hopefully this will become a series on the console.
I agree. Hopefully it doesn't take 7 years for the next one.
In interviews the director said there will be continual support and they will add harder fights/quests. The first being Lucilius in March I think. You can check out the interview with Kayane last week as she was hosting the France Granblue Rising tournament.
thats not true. 3 dlcs and thats it.
Girlie I only have a Nintendo switch :((((
@@KazaarTV I literally put who the interview was with. If you are to lazy to find and watch the interview that's your problem but don't come comment "not true" without watching the GBVSR/Relink interview on RUclips SMH
Randoms on the net just like to say anything to pick fights.
@@MaximumCarnage-this is interesting bc I’ve only ever heard that the game MAY stop support after the 3 dlcs we were shown. But I do hope we get to have this game be supported for maybe at least a year?
@@Rockinsilver We don't know how long. People seem to be interpreting what he said during the last livestream as no updates after May. That's not what he said. He specifically said this is what's planned so far and not that it will end support. If you've ever watched livestreams before he has said the same thing before and then support the game for 2- 3 years.
It all depends how well it does and it may not always be free extra content. In the past he has said he's open to paid DLC if people want it so we could see expansions like Monster Hunter. Again depends on success and demand. I'm confident they will support for awhile though as they supported GBVS for 3 years and that game died after a month because of bad netcode and COVID. They play and love their games so they tend to listen to feedback and support for a long time.
Anyway enjoy it!
After being hyped for Blue Protocol and then being let down that it MIGHT come out '24 im more than happy to play this especially if there's singleplayer
That’s great news was a bit uneasy about pc’s performance. So I’m glad you were able to touch up on this. Cant wait to play this toniGHT!!!
PC BROS WE CAN FINALLY PLAY TODAY
Glad to know the system requirements are definitely an overshoot and high settings with 60fps at 1080p is more than playable
5am?@@bladidee
@@splork8616 time zones have an effect on it as far as i'm aware; mine's going to be available at midnight
Honestly the game runs great for me. 5700x with a 3080 had max graphic while still hitting 120 fps at 1440p. Those boss fights just gives chills!
Fkkkkk. Ok, my hype just increased.
I was thinking the same thing regarding your follow-up to their limited monster variety and story length. It sounds and looks pretty commendable for their first step into the genre. I hope it gets enough traction for Cy to continue updating, as well as incentivizing them to make a sequel at some point.
Great vid! Always appreciate the composition ✨
Definitely want to pick this game up soon but this month alone is absolutely insane for JRPGs! FF7 Rebirth and Persona 3 Reload are the two I have pre ordered.
Yeah that's def the big 3 this month. Huge month for jrpgs, I'm just gonna be grinding out p3r so the other 2 will have to wait for me 😂
@@nebula8893 I’m so excited for P3R and FF7 Rebirth! I will be playing those for a while. 😂
@@Jsobo28 judging by the pfp, I'm not very surprised by that 💀

I got rebirth later this month debating picking this up in the mean time tried the demo and I'm fucking in tempted to wait for a sale fack😅🤣
You explained what this game is really well cause for awhile people were throwing me off with saying it’s about the questing but now I get it monster hunter is a good example that you used I can deff dive into this 1
Bought it today and already 2h in on PC. Having a blast. I love games that WANT me to experiment with different things. So far Katalina has awesome gimmick with her stand but I want to unlock that shortstack with a katana. She seems motivated.
Let me just say, im happy this channel hasnt changed and is still turning out great content
I just subbed :)
@@rail7646 yea he made a video early last year saying he was stepping away to do other things and for a moment I was worried but the boys have been holding it down and i love to see it !
Looks interesting and pretty fun but im not spending 60 bucks for 10 hours of story, will definitely get it when the price goes down
Nice review! I think I’ll wait for a sale on this one as I’d mostly be playing for the story which seems pretty short
Same I was hyped till I found out the length. I can't justify paying 60 for it. It will be fourty in a few months
Same. I mostly wanted this game for the story. That doesn't seem to be the focus.
Thank you. The reviews really help and I am interested on this one. Going to try it.
Extra content is not limited to live service, dlcs and expansions also exist
I'm praying for an expansion like MH
Thanks for the review! You got me very interested in this.
is it worth to get the special edition or are you able to easily get those items ingame?
Looking forward to this game once I finished Persona 3 Reload. Thanks for the video!
I find it very strange how in this game executing a Perfect Guard still counts towards the unseen - but - present guard limit where if you Guard too much you get Guard Broken.
Oh sweet, I hate how perfect parries trivialize most anime games that use the system.
Guarding is stupid broken already. The limit is the only thing keeping it in check.
Just use perfect Dodge bro 😎
This game is everything that was good about FF16, without any of the boring shit in-between the big fights (which was most of ff16..). Plus an excellent online. I didn't think I would be super into this game but picked it up anyway and it definitely exceeded my expectations
This looks sick. Glad I know it is a short story going in so that won't disappoint me.
So far it's been fantastic! Controls amazingly well. The lock on is something they said they have on the docket for improving but I haven't found it necessary to begin with.
So far I'm pretty impressed with the product! And if they actually support it the way they are saying they are going to, this could be a really long term type of game for me. It's incredibly fun to play. Especially once you get past the campaign that's relatively easy for a seasoned gamer even on hard. But it definitely ramps up in the endgame which is the majority of the game.
It took me by surprise too, but it's super addictive, just in the "final chapter" now and looking forward to end game
Is it long? Did u find alot of quest and how about the map is it big?
the review literally told you it can be beaten in 10 hours easily. Especially since the game is brain dead easy@@tkbest94
@@tkbest94 not long
@@tkbest94making story you can blast through in a day or two, end game takes weeks, the exploration maps are medium; it's more focused on combat
The proud mode fight is a great challenge for your endgame build. Kind of like fatalis from mhw
Ayyy Fellow Siegfried Main! Gotta love the Oonga Boonga Gameplay "This is Power!"
For years i was waiting for a FF9 style game and finally is here °w°
NOTE: art director its hideo minaba (FF9, FF12, FF Tactics etc...)
To this day FFIX is still my favorite art style of any game/media. Such an amazing game in general too!
No wonder the actual art direction designs looks familiar. Painterly effects, high fantasy fused with some modern touches. Loved FF9 & FF12 both 😍
Will buy a physical PS5 copy. Physical for life, as long as available.
I know nothing about this game but I want to play it now.
Sounds like they're putting a lot of support and effort in the endgame, which is great for a non live service game. I might have to try this one out.
Beyond excited for this game
Ive jus completed the story...and jus unlocked hard difficulty n im having a blast
It's exactly what I thought it would be. Just hitting Extreme mode... I could not be more pleased with everything i've played so far!
I think this is the game I’ve been waiting for, it feels like those adventurer in manga and anime story
I dont say this often... actually i have never said this but your review was top notch! completely unbiased opinions on a game that i thought was a big over hyped. I was thinking damn this game could have been the next genshin impact but unfortunately that wasnt the case. I will be playing this day 1 but i must admit im kinda disappointed in the lack of story content.. but if they release a ton of DLC even paid DLC with good story content in addition to characters it will be fine.
Look forward to seeing how this runs on an ROG Ally.
The simple fact that this 100% could of been a live service game, yet they released it as a full package RPG excites me.
Ultrawide support on PC ?
Playstation Prompt on PC ?
no ultra wide
I'm glad you liked this game. The original mobile game has a lot of content, and GBF Relink is only the tip of the iceberg. I can guarantee that this game will keep progressing even more challenging with future updates. The anniversary for the original game is coming this March and usually KMR will announce what's new to expect in the game.
I really want this game and have been waiting since the first reveal but I just got both Tekken 8 and Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth, not to mention I’m still actively playing GBF Versus Rising AND then Persona 3 Reload launches tomorrow… I might just do what I did in my younger years, juggle multiple games at once lol.
As other's asked, what are your specs? Maybe adding them to description would help
Just to ask can you unlock more melee combos (x,x,x,y,y,y x,y,x,yx,y) and can you change the outfits of the characters?
Unfortunately no. The combos you have are the ones you're stuck with as soon as you acquire a character. As for outfits - I believe Grand/Djeeta are the only characters with different outfits. My guess is that this will change later down the road, but the only customization you have is at the end of the main story you unlock color schemes for your characters. Only four at the beginning but apparently you can unlock a couple more after the main story
Someone please answer why create session is not showing on ps5 when i go to quest counter. Only invite
Good news for steam deck play? Hell yeah!
Is there aesthetic upgrades like mh or just higher dmg numbers?
I got this game with fear yesterday and voy o boy I m having a blast love the combat game play and the history is not grey actual easy to understand love it
Thanks for the review Arekkz. Nicely done. My question is, will I be disappointed if I purchase this for my PS5 and not my PC? My PC is high end, but don't ask me why, but JRPG type games I love playing on the PS5. I know, makes no sense. So in short, if I buy this for the PS5, will frame rate be an issue? Will the graphics suffer any? Cheers all
I hope with the release of Relink, we will soon get news about Project Awakening. I've been eagerly awaiting news about that one.
The amount of jp va talent they’ve got in this game is crazy. They got the actor for yujiro, the actor for kenpachi, and the actor for overhaul as well and I’m sure there’s others that I haven’t recognized yet I can’t get enough
So it’s a good but way too short game, am I getting this right?
Seens confusing. So do story, then quests after main story unlock more story?
Does the PC version supports the Dualsense?
Asking the real questions, I really want to know too, because I heard it feels really good on PS5.
I mean either way you can just use Steam Input...
I use my PS5 Dualsense controller with Steam Input
refunded, those ppl can't stfu during battle this drove me insane lol
Crazy ... Clocked 42 hrs in the demo .. already hit 50 hrs in the full game via early release ... With focus on quests and farming... It's not perfect but it is very very good, making that 8 year wait all the sweeter! 😏
Crazy...no real life detected.
im happy to hear the game is 100+ hours i checked how long to beat the game and it said its only 10+ hours but it didnt mention the endgame system
I can deal with the flaws, I am enjoying this game so much! But, the quests are so short... and I wish there were dungeons to go on adventures online. Other than that, amazing achievement and cant wait to see what they add :)
Cygames art style is the best most beautiful anime art style to exist. (Rage of bahamut lover 2012 here)
Does the game have a PUG system for multiplayer? I haven’t got friends for that :(
The story was so great so I wish it was waaaay longer like a traditional JRPG because the setting just fits an open world!
I love this game. Music and staging are so good. One thing I don’t like though is that it’s hard to find people to multiplayer with and matchmaking is bad
I bought the game without great expectations, mostly cause i am in love with the "Granblue fantasy Versus: Rising", so i gave it a chance, soon i was hooked. Playing SiegFried also.
When you said that there will be DLC in the future at 6:20, do you need to pay additional money for these characters or will they be unlockable for free?
dlc is usually paid
Can all missions be played multiplayer or only specific ones?
All mission apart from fate mission and story mission
Hell no part of why I love this game is because it isn't a live service. Stuffing mtx into it would be annoying
I love this game. Great story, great combat and it gets better after you beat it
Inshort it is playable on steamdeck with 99% compatibility? I've been waiting for this for a long time
I heard that is runs well on the steamdeck, not sure about 99% compatibility. I haven't heard about any glaring issues on steamdeck yet tho
Giving your team high stun will raise your link faster, then when your team link hit at 100% time slows down! by that time your SBA gauge should be 100 so your team can let loose, or just wait wait till the boss "breaks"
Soooo happy that it sounds like the PC port is actually good. Can't wait for it to unlock on Steam!
Same
Can the cooldowns be removed by endgame?
A good analysis mention the spec of the rig used to review.
Hi ! thanks for the review. Can you do the main story in Co-op or only the quests from the board ? I'm sorry if this was answered, I didn't catch it.
Main story is single player only.
@@shabazahmed21 Thanks for the answer, that's too bad :/
@@amoineau Yeah that does suck, but it's not too bad because most of the games content is in multiplayer. Single player is only 10-20 hours long. Enjoy it and then you can enjoy a 100+ hours playing multiplayer 🤝🏼
@@shabazahmed21 Unless you wanna try the ultimate difficulty that unlocks after you beat the story on hard 😂
@@icarus1455 Which is still single player?
What are your PC specs? What resolution did you play at? Were you getting a consistent 120 FPS? Is there DLSS and/or VRR support? Would be nice to know these things...
I need to know this as well, got a 4060 ti and not sure it this game will support dlss
game does not have upscaling technology@@tkbest94
seriously... what a completely useless "performance" section... this channel is completely useless as always for pc gamers...
just hoping I can run this well on my 4090 at 4k resolution, unless that is too weak to run at 60 fps constant....
@@diocub4022 I think with a 4090 you will be fine...You should easily get a consistent 120fps at 4k with that gpu
Can you beat the most difficult content using CPU with maxed gears?
Okay I’m convinced
I’m getting it lol
Monster hunter world seemed like a game I would not like, ended up playing it recently and loved it!! I now have almost 100 hrs of playtime for MHW. I'm thinking this game in the video might be my cup of tea!!! 😊😊
Do you know how to get Zeta's final weapon?
Glad to see PC is a good port
Waiting for "Why is the Sky Is Blue?" story chapter for the game, it will be a banger for sure @,@
Hooray🎉🎉🎉
I love this game I’ve been playing it on my Steam deck Oled it’s gorgeous hopefully we get second sequel of this game
It's odd to think that this game of all things is lacking in content, given how long it has been in development. Hell, I'll check it out, I think - that said, I absolutely could not disagree more with that live-service argument on basic principle. I would never have looked at this game twice were it actually one of those.
Can u do quest even if you havent finish n main campaign?
Yes you can do quests while still playing through the campaign.
Yes not all of them though
Even as someone who's not an anime fan at all... I LOVE THIS GAME!
Story is a bit rough to get through but voice acting is pretty good and it's wholesome enough so that's fine. But the gameplay, OMG the gameplay! It's fantastic.
BTW, side note, the art style is beautiful. I love it. I actually thought that the new upcoming RIOT MMO should use a very similar art style and even the music sounds like Legends of Runeterra music. If Riot simply took this style of combat as well and used it in the MMO they'd have a great addictive system. That being said, it was just a weird thought I had. This game though on it's own is just super fun. And again I do not like or watch anime.
EDIT: BTW, 20 hours to complete the main story is very fair IF you don't rush through the missions and explore each zone for chests etc. Also do side quests to get materials to upgrade your characters and weapons. Oh and also I'd HIGHLY recommend not purchasing or at least not using the deluxe addons at first that offer a ton of early points and materials to fast forward through early progression. Play on the base hard mode (not too hard but feels just right without the addon bonuses) and you'll find you need to start doing side quests and upgrading around midway through the story. Again adding to the fact it's good to treasure hunt during missions plus there's some cool hidden content as well. Just a tip as someone who watched a buddy play WITH using the starter pack and deluxe DLC stuff and totally make the story trivial.
I didn’t expect to have as much fun as I did. I’m really glad that i picked this up instead of Suicide Squad imo.
What about the equipment? is it visible to the character after equipping them just like MH or other games.
Yes but the only equipment that you change out is your weapon. So your characters pretty much look the same throughout the entire game.
I hope they add rolan as a playable character. He’s very cool.
saw the video here from asmons channel, leaving a like and a comment for the algorithm and some positivity - good work guys!
Why does my quest counter only have the play online function it does not have find session like yours
click play online then it will bring a window with what you want your online name to be, match-making options etc
@@jesseochieng I'm playing on ps5 when I click play online it just let me choose what my session settings will be like then proceed to make my own session. But I can't seem to find the. Find session option.
How much of the content do you feel can be completed solo? I saw another review that was saying they didn't think it'd be easy to do
I’ve completed everything alone
from what I've gathered so far, the super super end game quests will be quite challenging with the AI, but I also didn't see anyone tackling them with an actually fully geared team of 4, mostly because it takes quite a bit of time to develop each character, so it might be possible
It's funny he mentioned about a live service game, and for once I kind of agree. It could honestly picture tons and tons of fights to come if it was live service.
Live service isn't inherently bad. It's actually great. Predatory monetization is the issue. Fortnite, dota 2, league of legends, warframe, path of exile, etc are all amazing live service wise. People just focus on the bad sadly cause it can ruin some games if not handled right
And the game being slowly watered down as time passes with more and more menial tasks with each update just to fuel an infinite gear chasing treadmill.. Nah, thanks. I'd rather have a good game for a couple of years with the possibility of content DLCs and title updates and maybe even a sequel on the horizon than a decade of samey mediocrity
you are just creating a scenario that hasnt happened to justify your stance against it being live service.@@hua..
hmmm by the looks of it this game feels best with a controller right?
Yes 💯
Ps5 on performance mode has been stable and enjoyable
This is the most beautiful anime style game to ever exist. The menu the graphics the characters the art everything is perfect. I loved the artists that made rage of bahamut in 2011 and im glad they never changed their art style but instead further bettered it all. Ive heard this game gets continued support like monster hunter so i will definitely get it.
But is higher level content also copy and paste maps? Are we just playing the same maps over and over
This game so far has been a blast. I'm happy with it and it will fill the void for me until dragons dogma 2.
im addicted to Lancalot
Does it give an option to remove/minimize the HUD?
Would also like to know this!
Sadly not on ps5, maybe pc
was there an ultrawide option on PC?
As a person having a 32:9 screen, I'm curious as well!
There is no ultrawide support. I don't have the game yet myself but there is some reviews that touch upon this.
@@kitoshinThis is very disappointing news I've not seen until now, I was so excited for it too 😢
is it worth it if i only play the mutliplayer mode or do i need to play singlepayer to unlock online mode?
the story mode has to be done solo iirc, and you need to progress through it to unlock more multiplayer missions.
i see ok ty@@Tzeeensh
Story took me 11 hours, and that's with watching all cutscenes and listening to all dialog. If you skip all the story scenes you can probably do the whole campaign in a single sitting, so don't let it deter you too much
Can wait to get the full game the demo was amazing
Hopefully they add cross play, want this game to succeed. Having a blast playing this game.
