During extreme cold fronts crappie will migrate closer to the bottom of the lake or river. This migration can occur in many depth ranges, but during the winter months this typically happens in 15-30ft. Down sizing your jig is a great tactic to catch more crappie during the winter and early spring.

Holy crap -- 2° . That's dedication. Come on down to Arkansas Davis. It's been in the middle 60's for the past 2 weeks with some low 40's for the lows. That would be so hard to fish.i guess crappie actuly don't have any season.i heard they will bite any season. You need some kind of Heather in there.
