Almost every winner depicts a past period with a few sci-fi and fantasy films in the mix. The only winner that has a contemporary background is “the Adventure of Priscilla”. Truly amazing.

How would you classify All That Jazz? While there were some fantasy-ish elements, that film was contemporary to its time, and even the fantasy-ish costumes follow that time period. Aside from that bit, your point is absolutely taken, period dramas tend to win the day for Best Costume honors.

@@jeniferbean503 also don't forget Travels with my Aunt. But yes, too few contemporary awards.

A very nice tribute, but is there a video containing the winners for 1948-1967? Also, since this video was produced, the winner for 2020/21 was _Ma Rainey's Black Bottom,_ for 2021 it was _Cruella,_ for 2022 it was _Black Panther: Wakanda Forever_ and for 2023 it was _Poor Things._

I can understand this category rewarding the effort and attention do detail a lot of period dramas make, but I feel as of some of these definitely didn't deserve their wins.

Thanks, Kawthar. The music is the soundtrack of "Angels and Demons", by Hans Zimmer

in the many yrs. of magnificent designs,
    2 issues 'stand out':
    1) How many X's can 'the Great Gatsby' b RE-hashed?...&
    2) in Ralph Fiennes case...being stunningly handsome while also being one of the MOST brilliant actors in film history...are NOT mutually exclusive!!
