- Ocean FFF Fluke Fishing the Sticks & Beach Talking Yummy Fish Sticks - Was thinking about fishing the sticks and as the summer sun slowly went down fish sticks came to mind. Lots of summer flounder up on in the ocean surf. Just walk down to the ocean, put on a piece of Gulp, and cast. You will catch a fluke. Serious. The fishing was fast, fun, and furious - FFF, or was that FFFF??? Started to think about fish sticks. They are delicious. I almost couldn't wait for the sun to set. Fish sticks and french fries are the best. I was extra hungry and I made mines extra crispy. I roll out a extra hamburger roll so I can make a fish sandwich with my fish sticks. Straight up with a pickle on the side, and extra catsup for dipping. So now I have a fish stick sandwich, fish sticks on the side, and french fries. FFF. All extra crispy. And catsup, no mustard here, all catsup. No mustard at all. Yellow or spicy. However, I do like my yellow mustard, it is the best. Just not with my fish stixs.

@@FishYourWay French fries with katsup and some ginger ale should fix you. I didn`t think it was possible to have to many fish sticks, next time make a sandwich with them with a slice of onion and katsup. Peace and brother love to you and all.

High school days, A train to Mott Ave Far Rockaway, 30 minute walk to Atlantic Beach bridge. Small jetties but decent fluke action thru June-July-August. Squid strips worked best. Think they have closed it all off now, no access to beach.

Bacon is more effective than gulp. I like the hickory smoked stuff on a buck tail.
I like that, have to try and a quick snack for some that extra energy! Raw bacon rules! Actually goes great on a summer salad with feta cheese and kalmata olives. Roll the bacon and cut into thin spirals. When served to the most exquisite guests from the high echelons of society they will be bewildered and ask, "what is that tasty addition?" Takes a culinary focal point. When you tell em raw bacon, they will have that look like they just ate a whole raw pig. If you don't want to scare em tell em its poitrine fumee or your trailers for your bucktails!

It worked wonders today the color is great for stained water but can’t beat the white good stuff
Maybe a better tool than needle nose pliers to remove those hooks are hemostats used in freshwater fishing. They are smaller and better for the small mouths.

@@FishYourWay Living in N.Y.C. driving to Captree State Park and staying overnight i would always make my Tuna Fish Salad and have a loaf of Martins Potato Bread in those day's the pass was $25. to park .
I love that Martins potato bread! Then I found those hawaiian rolls which bumped martins a notch down but hell yea!

Great fishing! Caught a 17" fluke under the bridge at captree on a jerk shad two days ago. What size rod are you running ? what Lb test ? What reel size ? Any info on your setup would be great. Just curious.
Nice fluke! That a 8' 1-4oz or so rod with a 4000 sized reel. Working the 17lb mono 12-20lb works great Anything similar will get it done for you! I like the 8' rods can use in a wide variety of situations
What is the keepersize? A lot of them looked like they were 15+ inches. Greets from germany

When does the Striper season start Jerry?
I tend to lean into them when the start to show in better numbers in the daytime hours. usually between sept-oct, however can be as early as aug or as late as nov

Is it ok to put a finger in the fluke's mouth? I got bit by a flopping fluke and it stung a bit.
No. Sharp teeth. You can lip a sea Robin just like a largemouth bass. Watch for sharp spines on sea robin’s head.

I would not suggest anyone do it as it varies per fish. Some have a few teeth, some have a full chiscos full hanging rack that aint the pretty type. I get scrapes but it is something to do if you feel comfortable with.
