Oh wow! In such short time you managed to tell a wholesome story. I almost could feel the freshness of this forest wind on my skin, that humidity and chilly air. That is truly a masterpiece. Not even mentioning that it was shot on a smartphone. You’re very talented! Keep up an amazing work ❤
I had preordered the iPhone 16 Pro in Natural Titanium, 1TB and filmed my unboxing on my channel! I'm in love with i. I've always got the max for years and years but the 16 pro feel so much better in my hands and it's comfortable to use as i use my phone for my day job and to manage my businesses. Highly recommend the 16 pro!
I actually never owned a Max. Always had regular Pros. Also, for this video I borrowed a Max to check the quality. I am gonna get a 16 Pro for myself :) I love the smaller form factor.
Hello.
I really appreciated this video and all the ones you realized. Maybe because you use your personal style instead of following the “trend”, an in my opinion you always get awesome footage: I really love that! Then I also love the sounds and the music you use in the videos. May I ask you from which music service you get those songs? Thank you for sharing. 😊
Hey thank you! Pretty much what I mentioned in the title and I kept the ISO as low as possible. I was able to keep a constant 1/48th shutter due to being real dark. 24p, 4K, ProRes LT
I might do it in the future. Still not super comfortable with my settings on Black Magic Camera app. Need some time to make final decision on settings.
Hi barparildar Great video - thank you for sharing! I have a question for you - hopefully you may have an answer for the issue I’m facing. With your SanDisk SSD, what format are you using - APFS or exFAT? The reason I ask is that after updating to iOS 18 on my iPhone 15 Pro Max I found that the APFS format on both SSDs I use was not being recognised in the iPhone native camera app when recording in ProRes Log. The USB-C device did not appear at the bottom of the display. However, the SSDs were recognised in the Files app. A recommendation came up on the iPhone display that exFAT was needed for the SSD to be used for video recording (but no mention of APFS). Prior to the iOS 18 update, all worked perfectly when shooting using SSDs formatted as APFS - this format, of course, is recommended by Apple along with exFAT. On one of the SSDs (dynabook/Toshiba 1TB: Write Speed 1000MB/s), after backing up, I reformatted the drive to exFAT and all worked perfectly again. Reformatting back to APFS did not fix the issue, so I again reformatted back to exFAT - with no problems using that format. The other SSD I tested was a Samsung Shield T7 1TB formatted as APFS. This wasn’t recognised as a USB-C device either, therefore I was unable to record video to it using ProRes Log. All my testing was done using 4K at various frame rates. I also tested using the Final Cut Camera app, with the same results using SSDs formatted as APFS - the USB-C device not being recognised. Perhaps all this works fine in the iPhone 16 Pro/Pro Max and the issue is unique to the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Cheers from John in Australia
Hey thank you! I had the same issue with iPhone 15 Pro Max. I wasn't able to use my Sandisk SSD with the native camera app. With 16 Pro Max there is no problem. I can use both Black Magic Camera app and Native camera app. Cheers!
@@barparildar Thank you for replying and confirming that - much appreciated! I might look at reporting the issue to Apple, although they may already be aware of it. In the meantime, I’ll use my SSDs formatted as exFAT as I won’t be upgrading to the new iPhone 16. Thanks again!
@@barparildar- absolutely mate. I live in the UK and visit The Lake District often. Days like this are standard there. I definitely need to get myself an external SSD and start utilising this. What external storage do you use for this, may I ask…?
Nice colors. I got mine yesterday. Do you think it will be possible to shoot on native camera app? And how do you like the microphone on the new phone?
Thank you man! My only issue is the ProRes file sizes. If Apple adds a ProRes LT option in native app I could definitely use it. With this bit rate I can't buy a new hard drive every few weeks :) Mic is great as always but still wind noise is there. I had to move audio around as always to find the part without too much broken audio.
I hope someone makes a video! I am sure S24 is really good as well. I am not a tech channel. I only make videos with gear I really own or use for a particular project.
@@barparildar Hi ✌🏻 recording, H265 or 422 HQ? It happens that I can't decide whether to work with the iPhone 15 pro, or with my Sony A7 IV. No offence but it seems a lot oversharpened with 720p equivalent texture even on 4K. I wish we get an option to disable baked in Noise Reduction in ProRes LOG else it eats up all the micro contrast.
Trust me... with a sensor that small you don't want the noise reduction removed. The sensor specific algos that go into it are lightyears ahead of anything that can be done in davinci and the likes. I find the log footage to actually be quite sharp so I think the oversharpening here is mostly in post and a creative choice, I tend to edit stuff more soft personally.
you did what you could with it and your part looks good just not sure the phone produces a sharp enough image without looking over sharp.. its just ok for me.
