Quite right! I knew this song with Channing Tatum's movie Fighting, the soundtrack included this song, I believe, really awesome music. Blurred lines is really messy, not like this one. Really enjoyable
I think that I was in Lowe’s when I heard this. I put on my Shazam app to find out who was singing this because the brother sounded dope. When I saw the picture of this dude, I LOL. Why? The likes of these never cease to amaze me. I would have put my life on the line that this man was black. Historically speaking, low key, white people in this country have always loved black music, even though they won’t admit it. They steal our music. Try to sound like us. Dance like us. Read about Elvis Presley’s past. They use to call his music N*gger music. AND he admitted to sitting outside of black churches, listening to gospel music. He literally sung black music, competing with Chuck Berry and Little Richie. ROBIN IS NO DIFFERENT. IF YOU LISTEN TO THE SONG ‘MOVE ON UP’ the melody is subtle. It’s the same. Even his MARVIN GAY like ‘Whoooooo’ ROFL.
Blurred Lines was nothing compared to all the other great songs he's done. Crossover drivel that led to nothing but trouble for him. But he came back to r&b land, thank goodness!
Robin Thicke is the genuine article. He truly doesn’t have to live off of his namesake. He’s an authentic Soul man. His vocals are smooth and captivating. He’s also a songwriter and composer. He’s only scratched the surface of what he can accomplish in music. Scary to think about.
It's amazing the smooth R&B vocals that pours out of Robin's mouth. Blue-eyed soul, very sensual. It arouses the senses and titillates the ears. Love it!!!
1.why would Marvin be proud of a person who made millions of his sound and refused to pay his family? 2.There so many other artists who write their own songs and create real music(no sampling) for Marvin to be proud of. 3 The song has a Curtis Mayfield sound not Marvin
Keep cool, this is RUclips, my comment aimed at underlining the song style as some kind of tribute to the 70's black soul music. I could of course have mentionned Curtis Mayfield, Bobby Womack, Isaac Hayes and so much others...
This was my grandmothers favourite song, I like to listen to it sometimes to relive those moments with her when I was little we would sing it to each other in the living room and joke around.
Just heard this song while shopping, & the strings in the intro almost made me cry! The memories that came rushing back hit me hard! I had to come find the video… great music!
I enjoy the blissful and magical/mystical energy of this Magic song by Robin Thicke, and I feel that this song has only gotten better with time (I was originally unexpectedly treated to hearing this Robin Thicke song around 12 to 14 years ago when I walked inside a shoe store inside a shopping mall).
I almost couldn't see the difference between Robin Thicke and Justin Timberlake in this videoclip. They both are awesome! Amazing talents!! Wish alot people know this song!
Remember hearing this on the radio , I said that brother meant what he was singing . Great song from Robin Thicke . Much better than Blurred Lines . He has the Magic .💯💋🎈
I used to love this song until I read the lyrics. "I took whatever devil offered me. Because I knew that he would set me free." 2:13 Nope, I'm good. I believe in The Most High and Jesus Christ! ☝🏽🙌🏽❤🙏🏽
Love it! Love this song by Robin. I heard several years ago and loved it then. Was in Office Depot today and this song was being played in the background and it suddenly came to me that it was by Robin. He sung this song when he was that talent show like American Idol several years ago, but I can't remember the name of the show.
String & horn parts courtesy of Curtis Mayfield. So many R&B/hiphop acts have sampled him over the years, I just hope his family is getting some well deserved royalty checks.
From what song? Are you thinking "Move On Up"? I'll admit the instrumentation is similar, probably done on purpose, but it doesn't sound like a sample to me, sounds like the notes are progressing differently. More inspired by, than taken from.
marinedoc92 Absolutely true. Some people don't know the difference between an actual sample versus a sobg or section being inspired by. I heard the Curtis Mayfield influence immediately but it's far enough away to not be plagiarism. He's obviously an fan of classic R&B artists like Mayfield and Marvin Gaye. It's in so much of his music.
So true; each person has the magic to make beautiful, a beautiful feeling.😘↗Love peace and respect to Robin Thicke for sharing his beautiful that plays importance in my life.↗😚
These songs that remind you of walking through the mall just hit different man, especially seeing how malls are dying out even more so than ever. Reminds me of cruising up to my local one thru the night with the lights beaming so beautifully. Bruh 2008-2011 was just a different time I swear...
Still under 10 million views 4 years after your post. It didn't blow up. But it should. And I'm not even of this generation. This is Robin's best song imho
This song is so sexy! Yet it makes you want that magic he is singing about! Thanks Robin for doing what you do, keep on making and creating the magic so fans like me can enjoy! Love it!

Whenever you're in doubt, play this. It's an absolute mood changer.
Yeah but not erasing the past. Bettering the present.
Definitely
This song needs more views, its so much better than blurred lines!! This is when he was the real Robin Thicke.
Quite right! I knew this song with Channing Tatum's movie Fighting, the soundtrack included this song, I believe, really awesome music. Blurred lines is really messy, not like this one. Really enjoyable
this is a hit
Omg it's been 6 yrs since that song came out.

This song better then blurred lines imo
Blurred lines got on my last nerve for years!
To be honest, I've always loved this song way more than Blurred Lines.
Blurred Lines was nothing compared to all the other great songs he's done. Crossover drivel that led to nothing but trouble for him. But he came back to r&b land, thank goodness!

Real music never dies
Well it did but the internet and digital downloads ensure it doesn’t now.
@@007Fusiion never did die
My comment was referring to 1970s swag and taste. This song could have passed in the 70s thats where the flavor came from
This song could never get old
Never ever, ahead of its time even
So much soul in his voice this man will forever be my favorite 🥰
😊Yes. Especially when he breaks it down towards the end
It's amazing the smooth R&B vocals that pours out of Robin's mouth. Blue-eyed soul, very sensual. It arouses the senses and titillates the ears. Love it!!!
Monster song. 70's soul music is back! Marvin Gaye would have been proud.
this is from 2008, a lot has changed in music so far
1.why would Marvin be proud of a person who made millions of his sound and refused to pay his family?
2.There so many other artists who write their own songs and create real music(no sampling) for Marvin to be proud of.

passion4posh Kind of what I hate about the previous generation, they keep comparing the new artist and reminesant sounds to older artist
That refrain is the classic Motown sound. You will hear that is everything from Car Wash by Rose Royce to Move On Up by Curtis Mayfield.
Magic from Robin Thicke makes me feel so relaxed and happy quality song
This song is so well put together it brings a certain sonic Joy to my ears and soul even after so many years later.
Some musicians that played on thriller played on this😉 thats why
He's tapping into source with this song folks. We all have the power to do the same. Just meditate. You'll think me later.
I grew up to the music from Robin Thick and till this day I still love his music
