      sux2bu2day he said back then that he wouldn't cut his hair until he finally made it. That's why it was so long when he made this video. The short style that people are used to was the way he always wore it before this period of his career and he returned to it once he reached his goal.

      The radio channel I usually listen to had a crossover with a classic channel from the same company and Beethoven's fifth came on and it got me thinking of this song again. Drove me nuts all day at work that I couldn't find anything but the original piece from Walter Murphy. Then, just when I was about to sleep, some random lyrics popped in my head and now I finally have some inner peace 😂

    This song takes me back to getting ready for high school and watching MTV/VH1 in the morning for music videos. To think that Lost Without You would be the next hit (that I remember) to come out by him is mind blowing because I didn’t put the two together for years.
    Genius transition from Pop/Soul to RnB/Pop. Def one of my favorite songs and artists.

    I was in HS when this dropped. I remember hearing it and loving it! Then I saw who sang it and I was completely shocked. He looked like someone from the grunge rock scene singing R&B. So dope! Long time supporter of this dude even in the midst of his personal life. Great voice!

      The same, but the music video and his image gave me an immediate major "one hit wonder" vibe. Sorry to say it, but image and attitude is vey important in the industry. I was surprised when he released his second LP, but then I knew he was going to be big, cause his image had changed and he had signed to Star Trek/Pharrell.

    A true artist, his talent and sheer joy just oozes on this track and there's so much to appreciate! Am blown away by the vocal confidence, drive, tones, command of tempo and lyrical punch-he totally K.O. owns it! That voice..those strings..that bass..those drums!!
    And this at the start of his recording career no less! Pure boogie-on-down track..so utterly addictive and in my humble estimation..a sleeping masterpiece!
    Re the video..so left-field and ahead of the game..he's just soaking it all in and loving it!!

    This song has been an ear worm of mine for over 20 years. I saw the video back in the day but could never remember the song name or the singer. I’ve obsessed over trying to rediscover it. Today, I finally found it again and was shocked when I found out this was ROBIN THICKE the whole time WTF 🤯

    Yes ! I remember reading about you in VIBE magazine when you first came out as a singer and it took forever for this album to hit the shelves . I remember that the original title of the album was gonna be Cherry Blue Skies ! God, i need a life.
