I’m still seeing some minor breakouts and over oil production in my t-zone. Would you suggest including retinol and niacinamide?

    My skin often reacts with a burning sensation to salicylic acid serums, I definitely do not have oily skin. Therefore it would be best to avoid salicylic acid serums, but would this apply to the toner too?

    • @SkinZoneTV

      So happy to hear you enjoyed it! Try not using salicylic acid and retinol on the same day as they are both exfoliating. That is why you would be flaking.

    • @SkinZoneTV
      @SkinZoneTV  2 месяца назад

      Hey there, at 15 you don’t need to use a retinol or retinoid unless you have been prescribed one from a dermatologist or skin therapist - who have done a skin analysis for you in person x
      You should be fine to use the niacinamide, but at your age try and keep it simple - cleanser, moisturizer spf - you can exfoliate but don’t over do it :)
      If you aren’t sure what to use for your age and your skin - book a skin consult and they can analyze your skin and provide personal recommendations x

      You don’t need to exfoliate daily, but 2 x a week will be perfect unless you are treated by a skin professional who has you on a treatment plan and recommends otherwise.
      Over exfoliating leads to an impaired skin barrier which causes other skin problems xx

      Skin purging is normal when starting active ingredients, it will last 4-6 weeks and it's actually a good thing!! It's bringing out congestion from underneath the skin, and will clear. If it lasts longer than 8 weeks, it is most likely a breakout and I would stop use. Some people react to this niacinamide, so I would try a lower % from another brand

      That's actually called purging our skin goes through that when using active ingredients but it's mostly our skin getting rid of all the gunk
      Just stick with the process
