    I’m so glad that I stumbled across this video. I went to Sephora earlier and bought this exact product because I have oily skin and I deal with blackheads around my nose all the time. But I usually cleanse my face with the Cerave Foaming Facial Cleanser and then I use another product from The Ordinary that’s formulated to help with making dark circles fade away (the caffeine solution 5% EGCG).
    Would it be safe to use those two with the Salicylic Acid? Only because my Cerave says it contains Niacinamide and someone else on here said it was absolutely okay to mix them after the video said to avoid them. Is that true? I’m just now adding Salicylic Acid into my nightly skincare routine and I don’t want to irritate my skin barriers.

    • @SkinZoneTV
      @SkinZoneTV  Год назад +5

      Awesome :) yes that is fine to use salicylic acid but you won’t need to use it daily if you just have a few blackheads on your nose, a few times a week is plenty.
      You can use your cerave moisturiser that’s no problems. Most Niacinamide serums should be used separately to salicylic acid, most brands do not recommend to mix the two serums.
      Moisturisers are fine x

      Yes absolutely you can alternate. However you don’t need 2 exfoliating acid serums. Either switch between them and still keep to exfoliating 2 x per week or choose 1 exfoliating serum. Salicylic acid is better for oily skin types and blackheads,breakouts whereas lactic acid is great for dry dehydrated skin types x

      Niacianmide

      The cerave retinol is oil free so you could use it first before niacinamide. I would normally go the lightest serum first followed by the next. If you switch up products keep in mind that water based serums should come before oil based serums.
      In regards to the moisturiser, I would stick to a water based moisturiser to help regulate your oil flow and keep your skin hydrated.You could try the CeraVe Ultra-Light Moisturizing Gel since you are already using cerave products x

    How do I properly use these products?
    Need to know the application procedure
    How often should I apply salicylic acid? (Is this a serum or a cream that I need to use?)
    What kind of cleanser should I use for washing my face before application of salicyclic acid?
    What SPF is the best that isn't oily to skin but works in a weather temperature around 25-40 celcius?
    Can I apply niacinamide at night and salicylic acid in the morning? Or vice versa? Also, how often should I use niacinamide?
    What type of moisturizer do you recommend that is not too pricey and possibly available in our country local stores?

      Knowing that my routine is a bit bad due to my lack of experience, in the morning at 6:30 I use lotion and moisturizer, and in the evening around 10-7 I use lotion and medical cotton from Stridex, wait half an hour, then use salicylic acid with Neutrogena Bright boost Moisturizer.

    • @SkinZoneTV
      @SkinZoneTV  10 месяцев назад

      Hey there, is the stridex have salicylic acid in it? You don’t need to use salicylic acid every night and considering you are already using stridex you wouldn’t need a salicylic acid serum as well. Way to much for the skin which causes an impaired skin barrier and breakouts.
      Stop use and go back to basics for a few weeks - cleanser and moisturiser only.
      When you skin clears up you can reintroduce 1 type of exfoliating method. And start slowly once a week, and build up to twice. Monitor how your skin is going

      Hey there, as we state in the how to use section of the video - Twice a week.
      At the beginning of the video we state that the product says it can be used daily but we don’t agree as over exfoliating leads to an impaired skin barrier which causes more skin problems. Hey there, you don’t need to use both. Over exfoliating will lead to an impaired skin barrier and will cause you more skin problems (I did this at your age, and have also treated so many clients who have also given themselves an damaged skin barrier from over exfoliating)
