You basically described exactly what I have been doing since coming back. buying loads of skates trying various liners, shell sizes etc. Just got some cults coming too (as that razor boot is what I skated back in the day) so this video is really helpful
Thank you so much for this, this is literally the video I needed. I was debating the M12 and the 909's and your brain does the same thing mines does... so thank you for saving me the trouble of buying both of them!.
Super informative video.. i’m on the same boat.. coming back to skating after almost 20yrs.. so much research now.. when back in the day all I had were pairs of Lightnings with grind plates.. I couldn’t afford those K2’s or roces at the time lol..
Hey hello loved the video. Im 45 now i skated in the ,late 90s to 2004. I rocked these rollerblade aggressive inline skates a custom build skate u cud buy where u cud build it. It was the only like its kind when i bought em in 1997 or 1998. Im now back into skating 2024. I just bought the razors Brian Shima 3 Remastered for 2023 and the 2023 i think but i got my 2nd pair as the new Razors Andrew Broom pro skates. I also bought the gawds paul john ll pro 58mm 88A pink wheels. Back when i was younger just like u not much money and now more money to basically over think every detail and buy shit. Lotsa shit!! Before summer is over i cud buy 3 more pairs of skates who knows.!! Everything is on sale now cuz Warehouses have such an abundance of inventory they need to sell to make room for new skates to put on the shelves. I also snowboard and backpacking and i buy so much!!! But thankyou for this video i just felt we shared a similarity. Bro i soooo over think!!! I LOVE GEAR!!!
Cults really aren't a tiny bit wider, that tiny bit at first glance makes a huge difference. Roces m12...I literally can't wear them in my size, cults I can comfortably fit them snug. m12's hurt my foot pretty badly, so I don't consider cults a thin skate, I consider m12's thin.
Ps u really made me overthink some more!! We have similar foot sizes too..i just wish they wud make skates more universal if that makes sense. Cuz finding the rught skate with the options wanted ur thrown off on how they all fit so different and its too hard finding the right skates. Each skate has huge pros and then huge cons. That spectrum just makes decisions so hard and guess work ordering online sooo difficult.
Thanks for the reference point. I have a 28cm foot and had to send back the size Large 908 because the shell was huge. The Medium is sold out everywhere so now I’m considering other options. Any advice would be awesome, thanks!
@@RollOverTheHill Yeah the 909 is all gone too except for the Danny Beer. I lucked out and snagged a slightly used pair of 909s in Medium today though so it all worked out.
your intro is basically me in a nutshell. start with speed skate, broke them. got lighting, then got my first aggressive skate oxygen. only got skate when old one broke. 16 years later get back into it. have money to buy what skate. don't know what to buy lol. want a flat setup, waiting for usd team 21 arrive. try to find a good anti rocker set skate that fits wide
Hey I'm curious, what size shoe do you usually wear? I pre ordered the danny beers after trying a friend's new medium shell w/ intuition liners and I really liked the fit. But I'm a 9.5 shoe, solid EU 42, currently rocking US size 9 USD carbons 2s. If your size (10.5?) foot fits like a glove would you recommend down sizing to the small shell? Thanks for doing these comparisons, it really helps to have info with the lack of shopping experience the rollerblading community has right now. Cheers!
I wear an 11-11.5. The MyFit Crown liner I use is the 10/11. It fits me because the entire toe box is neoprene and expands to fit my foot. That’s how I can fit the medium 909’s. I don’t think I’d be able to skate them with an off the shelf boot + liner setup. When I put my foot in the medium shells without a liner there is room for 1 finger behind my heal if I slide my foot forward until my toes touch the end. I think that’s about as close as a fit as you can get. For reference the medium 908’s are too small for me, and they are only 4mm shorter than the 909’s. It seems to me that you will have an awful lot of extra room in the medium shell. I think Joey from Mushroom blading has a similar size foot to you and he’s skating the smalls. I remember seeing a video of him talking about the setup. I’d look for that. Hope that’s helpful!
Question about the them 909’s. I’m torn between the size small 7-8 and medium 9-10.. in sneakers I wear 9.5-10.. you said you wear a size 12 shoe and you have the Mediums and the fit perfect correct? So would you say they run on a lot bigger? based on my shoe size would it be advised to go with the small?
It’s tricky, I definitely have to use a different liner to make it work and they just barely fit. There’s some videos from the mushroom blading guys talking about their sizing with the 909’s. I think Joey has a similar size foot and skates the smalls.
great vid! Appreciate your attention to such details, this was really valuable info for me,cause i have the same feet size, or close to yours !:-) Kind regards !
From slimmest to widest skates? Which would you say? I love how the Cults and M12s fit me... But the USDs are Normally alot wider... I haven't found something slim in USDs
In the shells I am skating, M12 (11/12), Cult (10/11), and 909 (medium), I'd say they are all very close. The M12 might be a hair slimmer. I'm sure a 12/13 Cult would be noticeably wider than the 11/12 M12. I haven't skated a USD in at least 15 years so I don't have experience with them. I'm currently skating the Razors Shift and it fits like a Cult or M12.
It's hard to say. I wear a 12 shoe, but wear 10/11 skates. Which skates are you referring to? Usually you don't want to go with a bigger skate than your shoe size. With a skate your foot is locked in place so you can get away with a tighter fit that will make the skate more responsive.
@@peanutnitti7073 I think you’ll be ok. The difference in shell length is not that much on the bigger shell, so I don’t imagine it will be on that size either.
Hi! sorry for a random reply but how was the m12 size 9 (was it too big or did it fit right?) i also wear a 7.5 and was wondering whether to get a size 8 or 9
ha. this sounds like me. i cant buy skates because i cant figure out the perfect fit. i swear im going to open a skate shop out of my garage so people can try shit on. i overthink every purchase nowadays.

Cults all day baby! I learned all my groove tricks on that skate. Roces are comfy, and I love the buckle, but I can't stand the soul system.
What is the soul systerm

What kind of hat is that looks cool?

I’d go with the 909’s but both are great skates.
