Randy bought this truck cab from Bobby Jackling . Bobby Jackling built the cab with some help in his shop in Sparks Nevada in 1993 1994.

This is one of the coolest vehicles i've ever seen.....!

This is Jay Leno's 1960 chopped Peterbilt with a 852ci two-stroke Detroit Diesel twin-supercharged V12 mated to an Allison 4-speed automatic transmission from a Greyhound bus. The engine produces 500 horsepower and nearly 1000 lb-ft torque with a red line of just 2,800 rpm. Built by the Blastolene Brothers.
I've never seen a Peterbilt quite like this before!
This is probably the most intimidating thing on four wheel that I've ever seen. COOL!

@kovacs88 They kept using them into the 80's. They stopped when people started getting serious about emissions.
there are different headers on this vid than the other one i saw.. idk if it was your vid. but the one where its sitting next to a big rig. the guy next to it, red lines it. says it only gets to 2500 rpm. sounds insane!!!

Despite all the negative comments, you gotta admit this is right "outside of the box"....just because it doesn't have the biggest rodding motor cliche', a CHEVY powering it....doesn't mean its not a cool concept...I would like to see some heavier throttle action, tho..wonder what this car/truck/rod could really do??
That thing would sound better if it was running on all 12cyls. It has leaking exauste valves. phut phut. You can hear it better when he shuts it off. It's missing on 1 cyl.
@kovacs88 not quite handmade, it started as a 1960 pete, but probally enough work that its just as well to say it was handmade

@Squarerig with most cars its kindve easy to lie to the cops about your exact horsepower but when you see a motor like that you know it aint legal

@sixtysevenchevelle only reason why people think 2 strokes are twice as powerful is because theres a combustion every 2 strokes of the engine rather than 4. yet still the disadvantages outweight the advantages. probably why even F1 cars are 4 stroke.

2 stroke diesel, needs a supercharger to aid exhaust scavenging, It;s just so fricken big it fits 2!!

Wrong. I doubt it used more than a pint, Diesels uses almost no fuel when they are not under load
maybe it takes longer to park than landing an A380... but the guy doesn't want to bruise that aluminum body or creush a ferrin car... something that long doesn't turn all that tight, and it weighs about 4 tons...
and it takes much longer to back an A380 into a hanger....

I love the creativity and work that went into this, but it's also a good example of what I don't like about the hot rod scene: it's mostly a bunch of rich old white guys who build awesome rods and then putter around at 20mph, waiting until their next Metamucil break.
At least this bucks the "350 chevy and automatic transmission" that you see in about...oh....99.99999999999999999% of street rods.

These engines were not user friendly..did not like mountains..best for use in flat lands like Texas..had to run em wide open or they wouldn't last very long...they did NOT work in the Rocky Mountains at all..
