There are 168 hours in a week, and for most people, that means around 45 hours sleeping, 45 hours working and 78 hours of free time. So, what can you be doing in that free time to become the best version of yourself, enjoy life more, and feel less stressed?
Average Brits and Americans are spending 5-6 hours a day on non-productive screen time (social media, TV and gaming). And there’s nothing inherently wrong with “non-productive” screen time - but that adds up to something like 20 years of our lives watching, swiping and scrolling… which does feel like a bit too much of our short lives to me 🤯
So, in this video, I share 13 things you can do in your free time to feel more organised, get wealthier, reduce stress, learn more and feel better. And most of these things are completely free 🙌

About Me
I'm a lawyer, part-time RUclipsr, son, brother, startup founder, fiancé, black coffee drinker and plant dad. I graduated from Cambridge University (where I studied French and Spanish), topped my law school class and now work for a corporate law firm in London as a trainee solicitor (which takes up a lot of my time)!
Around that, I'm a big fan of discovering new ways of thinking, of balancing work with life, and of performing to the very best of my ability. Ohh, and being happy. And I try to share all that on this RUclips channel 😀
Fun fact: I believe we massively overplay the role of “natural talent” 😮 AND… I also believe that TOGETHER, WE ARE ALL CAPABLE OF POSITIVITY, PRODUCTIVITY AND SUCCESS.

Scrolling is the biggest drainer of energy. We need to all get better at cutting down screen time and swap with real time things.
as much as these are amazing tips. We need time to do nothing, just to think and process
So true. Not great to have such videos that make people feel bad about doing nothing.

Scrolling social media is not thinking nor processing

You can go for a walk, or work out, or clean your house instead of scrolling if you want to empty your head.
I realised that I waste time by earning money to creators by scrolling through RUclips when I can be working towards a better body, a better job offer, a new degree, a higher salary (yeah, it comes with strings, your rich corporate employer will buy another yacht), or even a better relationship with your family and friends.
5 hours of free time per workday

First video I've seen of yours and was a great listen. Added to the watch again playlist. Forage is a great tool I've never heard of, so thank you!
Another great video! Thanks Liam!
Such a great video Liam!
Really love your video!!!
These are very do-able things...thanks bro!!
Amazing video, thank you
Great tips, I will apply them to my life
him speaking perfect french randomly at 5:03 just got me hahaha
I love it , great thanks bro
Nice video thanks man🙏🙏🙏.
Consistently great content!
Hi Liam. I love how your video has elements of balance! We always get swept into the currents of the grindset culture and that anything that's not pushing your career or helping you make money is essentially useless, but your information suggests otherwise! Thanks for another great video.
I'm using my tv time to watch you😂 great work buddy!
Helpful video!
Liam- great video. I love the idea of making a list of things you can do when you have time. True story- when I met my husband I fell super hard for him. I knew I was spending too much time thinking about him when I wasn’t with him so I literally made a list of things to do when I was thinking about him too much! It all worked out pretty well as we have been married almost 13 years. That started me on the habit of making list of things to do when…. Whatever. Love the ideas you shared. Some of them were the same as ideas on my list, and a couple were new to me. I will add them to my list!
That french was clean dude!🤝
Good one..
excelent recomendations
Awesome video! Ever thought about starting a podcast?👀
I have been unemployed for a very long time, moved to a new country a year and a half ago and do not know ANYONE here. Although my accounts are active, I don't use social media but for years, YT has been my biggest distraction. Also, I have been studying some IT stuff for some time to try to have a better career and I do basically everything around the house but to sum up, I spend/waste most of my time in front of a screen, and life is going by...
Thank you for making this video and sharing. I will definitely utilize more of my free time.
Great video Liam! Always inspiring !
Thanks for TheForage
Thank you for these! I actually thought about this today bc social media during my free time made me more tired than my actual job. So thank you! Super helpful
Très bonne prononciation! Bravo!
good job
Very helpful video Liam, really loved some of the more productive ways to spend my free time, and that freelancer/upwork idea was brilliant! Keep up the great content and helpful suggestions! Love your work, and your videos!!
Hi Liam love the videos, do you offer mentorship?
You're living a life I admire to live man :) might be a little sadist of me to write this, but make a video on the other side of things also, recently I came across a post from a motivational speaker telling that he was in depression for the past last year due to COVID and stuff and has eaten a lot of junk and things like that, and that makes me feel more connected to him, seeing okay sometime things go the other way for him too yk, loved your content, keepgoing
Thanks Liam, really productive content here!
Great video as always Liam. Excellent life hacks to spend your down time productively. I preferred the original thumbnail you used for this video though. 😉😊👍🏽
Gran video, definitivamente me llevo varios varios tips para implementarlos en mi rutina. Gracias!
This video was really helpful. Made me think about how best I can use my free time. Thanks Liam😊
perfect
Great content as always Liam. Love your work. These insights are really helpful.
Awesome video, Liam. I quite often do a few of these and I find them fun :)
I have 4 kids… what is free time?
Very nice and practical advice! thank you
Apologies for posting this here but I cannot find the correct video. I have recently binged watched a number of your videos. In one of them, you referred to a sleeping mask that you have. Can you please remind me of the make and model and also, the title or date of that particular video?
My two eye masks are towards the end of my Portable Desk Setup video 😊 Links in the description!
Thanks Jack Quaid
Good video, do you have to be under thirty to do a virtual internship ?I'm middle aged but I enjoy learning it's something I discovered through having a mentor at work . I enjoy listening to podcasts I usually listen to them on 40 minute train commute to and from the office
Now that I know how annoying disruptions are, I'm always reluctant to call anyone when I am free .... because I don't want to them hate me for interrupting them. Arguh!
like it bro
Thanks for making this video. I’m sharing it with my older kids - I think everyone needs a lot of this great advice, the financial advice and menu planning and chores planning as well as the reality check of what’s important and better ways to spend your time rather than scrolling! Thanks so much!
Would love some more day in the life vlogs! Love your videos Liam! You have such positive/energetic energy 🤍
Hey Liam, thanks for this amazing video. It helped a lot and i realised, that i'm doing a good portion of the recommendations you give us. I tend to be very harsh on my selfe but this showed me, i'm doing well so far. So thank you and have a nice day. See you in your next video.
This video was so much fun. Thank you. Nothing mindblowing but the perspektive on those tasks is so inspiering. Now it feels so much morerealistic to make some more of thosethings happen weekly. Thank you!❤
Honestly such a great video. I’m always looking for ways to increase productivity. Thank you 🙏
As a freshman college student I’m new to the workload and I feel like I have no free time because I’m always studying maybe I’m over studying but when I try to give time to myself I feel stressed and I feel like I’m not resting properly so maybe it’s the screen time I have because I don’t feel like I have time so maybe I’m going to start to get some productive hobbies thanks Liam for the tips.
Honestly I do think it's such a great video. I’m improving my English by watching videos in RUclips and ways to increase productivity. Thank you very much🙏
5:02 J’ai beaucoup apprécié t’entendre parler ma langue maternelle : le Français ! If one day you head to Luxemburg, be my guest, I’d be pleased ;-)
OK, where to find friends?
I really appreciated this video, Liam. I'm currently in between jobs and while my job search takes up a lot of time (naturally) and I do have a small side hustle, I have at times struggled to figure out what else I should do to fill my time. I am someone who actually likes to clean so I've been taking on more of the housework during this interlude, yet I also have tried to take some of this unexpected down time to rest and relax like you say at the end.
Really interesting video. I’m not on that numbers of screen time but for sure a bit addicted to scrolling. Truth is, I have two daughters that are helping me keeping that number low! 😅

I just heard you say you watch reality TV. I watch a bit because those involved and in diguise are the " pillars of society"
It takes a bit of time to figure out who is who, but I figure it out eventually.
There is a great deal of "dirty laundry" air in reality TV. The one I watch. All I can say is Sheeeezus Christ!
Hey Liam, loved the video as always! Do you have any tips for memorising law cases? (I’ve just started A-level law and there are so many!) I really love your videos and everything you do, please never stop making videos because they’re the best!!!
Yeah, because my life is boring, I'll organize my finances and do freelancing on my spare time... very well.
With young kids, I average about 8 hours a week of spare time. I find it rewarding to read, take courses and do a bit of self care to unwind. It does get better and even with very little, we can do a lot for ourselves
Any Suggestions For People With ADHD
Everything mentioned in the video
Hi Liam great video as always! Just a very simple question: why did you not include sports, and in general physical activities, in this list?
he did. #2... listen and walk :)
💐
Really good info. Nice to have a new perspective on what productive things can I do instead of playing Subway Surfers 2 hours a day haha

I think i'm living in a different America. lolol. this is depressing. the average person has 5 hours of free time? Jesus. I wish.
Try having a child with special needs. Free time is zero. You just survive. That is what life in the UK is now for anyone on the margins - survival. I have a very good executive job, I earn a very good salary - but life is just survival
EVERY one thing cost money. if it's free somebody eals is paying for it!
Tips for people that are single and have no family 😅
I think meditation is important, you can’t constantly keep active and processing information. You’ll be knackered after a couple weeks
The content outlines various activities that can be done in one's free time to enhance happiness, fulfillment, and stress reduction. The author, a corporate lawyer with a busy schedule, emphasizes the importance of efficiently utilizing free time, such as 60 hours a week, for personal development and well-being. The 13 suggested activities include maintaining contact with friends and family, engaging in physical activities like walking while listening to audiobooks, organizing social events, learning new languages, managing digital clutter, planning meals, doing chores, reviewing finances, remembering birthdays, staying informed, freelancing, taking online courses, and relaxing with TV shows. These activities are designed to balance productivity with relaxation and personal growth.
Let your feet touch the grass
first woo!
Have kids lol
The irony of a guy working for a soulless, vacuous corporate law firm who would replace you within a week if you died saying "Why your life is so boring" genuinely made me laugh out loud.
Wait till u get kids 😊
Still boring
Fun fact people who started following these things ....
He won't be getting any views on RUclips 😂😂
