Thank you for this video flying the Socata TB10. There needs to be more videos showing this unique general aviation aircraft.

The people at that FBO are awesome people! Hospitality was second to none for a transient pilot.

We (myself and 2 other partners) have been looking for 4 particular aircraft for 2 months now.
Primary requirements (aside from the "given" ones), are 180-H.P., fixed gear and IFR certified.
Before having found an "ideal" 3rd and final partner, my cousin and I had a list of only 3 potential candidates:
    #1 choice...177 Cessna Cardinal-
    #2 choice...Piper Archer II-
    #3 choice...Beech Sundowner-
Then, we met our 3rd partner,, who brought to our attention the Socata TB-10:
    *great ramp appeal/modern in design-
    *roomy/comfortable-
*respectable cruise speed and fuel burn-
*a low wing with 2 gull wing doors...comfortable entry and exit-
    *large windows-
    *bucket seating throughout-
The list of 3 candiates became 4, but the I'd research the TB-10, the more the list of 4 became a list of only 1!
Unfortunately, availability here in the states is minimal.
    Ugggh!
Regardless of all that...your videos about the TB-10 are greatly appreciated!
    Love the camera placement/angles/footage!

I LIKE the TB-10 for a 'tweener' training aircraft OR even a primary trainer! The constant-speed prop (only) makes for an easier transition to a Complex (although some were equipped with a faux gear lever just for that purpose!). Also, the TB-10 is also great for Instrument training since most were IFR-equipped. The problem is finding a TB-10 for sale!

You can leave the aircraft at full throttle and full pitch for your entire climb, the engine can take that beating (Lycoming O-360?). Actually, according to the POH, the climb is full power, full pitch and mixture full rich. I used to drop RPM and MP like you are doing here, but it inhibits the climb performance. With all in I get to altitude faster as well! The flight schools teach differently for VP's, especially on turbo engines (which is that case is correct). But you can fly this thing like a fixed pitch all the way to cruise alt, and you land it the same - all levers forward except throttle. I love my TB-10 - brilliant aircraft!

Nice landings in a great, cool-looking, nice flying, under-rated airplane! During your control check at preflight, don't forget your rudder & horizontal stabilizer next time, they're easy to see out of the Socata's big windows.

Thinking about getting checked out in this plane at IPJ and this video helps with getting familiarized. I fly their Arrow a lot but need a back up plane.

These TBs seem to be very comfortable, a pilots airplane, and cheap to run tbh... love the extra short finals, i do the same XD, had an ex-military instructor. Just maybe turn on that carb heat when idle power, ice can creep up in the intake on these older clunkers after one or two tgo's easy... nice video man!

Love the video! I’m gonna be flying on a TB-10 soon as well. I was wondering what equipement do you use to record your voice and R/T? :)
