    Thanks for the video. Not easy to find out the actual weight of this model online. I found somewhere that the Factory mode weighs in at 1370g, which is 200g lighter. I didn’t suspect it was such a big difference in weight between models. Thanks again.

      I was recommended this fork by fox, I noticed it doesn't have a remote Lock out.

    i have a 2019 SC Blur that came with a 32mm Performance Stepcast with a handlebar remote. So for servicing would this be considered a Fit-4 or a Grip damper. I ask because of the different oils needed for the damper side bath.

    Is it suitable for a lock/unlock lever on the handlebar? Or is it a manual version?

    Hi James, I’m being a picky language guy, but hear me out.
    Watch your videos and “drink” every time you say “going to.” Then ask yourself, “Going to? When?”
    For instance, Fox is “going to” allow 4 spacers. (When?)
    Rather than future tense, use present tense: “This fork can take up to four spacers.” It’s not “going to”. It does now.
    Thanks for reading my (hopefully constructive) feedback!
    I’m “going to” love your reviews. 😉

      Fair criticism, and something that comes up during public speaking classes. I have a problem with "repeaters". On the plus side, while I take care of my issue, you have an awesome drinking game!

      @@Jamesthebikeguy True. I didn't know I used a certain word in almost every other sentence until someone pointed it out to me. I became very conscious of that word and consciously tried not to use it. Now I sometimes notice that I never use that word when speaking. It was kind of something similar to 'you know that, you know this.'

      Jamesthebikeguy - regarding the content, I currently own the Fox SC 32 Factory. I love the light weight on my XC climbing bike!
      The stock fork had a 51mm offset and I switched to the 44. It makes the steering more linear. A large offset is stable when straight, but starts to pull the wheel more and more as you turn the bars. It’s progressively more aggressive. A low offset is more eager to make small adjustments and is more eager to turn from straight, but I find it more linear and predictable as I turn the bars.
      I’m a climber and a downhill wimp(!) I plan to add a spacer or two and lower the pressure to make the fork more supple over small bumps. The spacers should keep it from sagging with low pressure, and would keep it from bottoming if I hit a surprise.
      But the big win is weight. It’s so light!

    Planning to get a 29er version of this fork for my (small) 27.5 frame. Do you think it'll cause problems other than bike geometry?

      Yes it will. Buy the correct fork, travel and wheelsize for it to work properly

      Check with the frame manufacturer, or read the specs that came with the bike as fork offset is dependent on the exact bike

    44 mm offset is actually slower steering.

    • @Jamesthebikeguy
      @Jamesthebikeguy  3 года назад

      Reduces trail, thus it is quicker steering.

    • @zap...
      @zap... 3 года назад +1

      @@Jamesthebikeguy Sorry buddy. A shorter-offset fork will produce more mechanical trail and slower steering.

    Aren't fit and grip, two completely different damper models in fox range? You call this fork's damper a fit grip damper.

      First came the GRIP, now it is FIT GRIP for the basic damper.
