Had I seen only the last 15 sec. I would have thought: "Now this is one patient baby rhino - just staying calm and completely motionless whilst being scrathed by that pencil". Quite unbelievable.
Impressive 🙂
Beautiful
I saw your deviation on DA first then came here to see... All I can say is WOW. I echo what others have already said and just stare in stunned silence. And, thank you for the wonderful write up on DA about the Rhinoceros. Master artist.
Sheryl Yaz Thank you for your kind words!
I can feel my ocd stirring in me while watching this video... Amazing
Tus dibujos son una pasada, he estado revisando el devianart y el de los conejos me ha dejado con la boca abierta, sigue así!!!
Muchas gracias deimost! He escuchado tus nuevas canciones del álbum "The ways not chosen" y me gustan mucho.

wow amazing! did you use nankin in the background?
Thanks! I think it was just woodless graphite 9B for the BG

amazing
wow it's so amazing *_*
Is that a stick not to stain the paper? Awesome drawing by the way
Yes, it relies in the easel's borders to comfortably switch around the different positions without touching the surface. Thank you Bdlsito
Drawing a rhino without horn
Oo omg!
Was that a carbon pencil you colored the paper with to turn it black?
That's a woodless graphite 9B
Just curious how it is not shiny? Thanks for the quick answer by the way.
Chad Wilkinson graphite is shinny though in this case light is not reflected directly on the camera view point.
Hi Fella!
I'M DOING A FAIR BIT OF GRAPHITE DWGS/PAINTINGS.
WHAT DO U USE TO GET THAT DENSITY OF BLACK WITHOUT BEING SHINY, LIKE 8B.
hope to hear, luv your site
Hi! That's right, 9B woodless graphite for the background. Still shiny as graphite always is but not on camera's direction. Hope that helps
Your drawings are amazing, and so your tallent. Can you please enlighten me with brands of papper to use, just to get to try some. I have this old Daler which they do not make any more It had a violet cover , and after that I could not find such good papprt to works for me as well in super realism pencils. Perhaps I need to search more so I need your opinion to try out some more that may work for me.
Thanks.
Thank you! It depends on different factors and the final feeling and textures you want to achieve. If you are using color pencils with wax or oil, graphite, pastel, charcoal....
For realism and graphite I love the smooth Canson or Strathmore Bristol but I also like the Canson Lineal sketch with certain sepia tone.
Besides, I use for other media: Fabriando, Derwent, Hahnemüelle, Pastelmat, Stonehenge...
Try, test and decide the one that suits you the best. Hope it helps!
Thank you , I'll check it out
I've seen pictures, but never one like this, is very real.
great work.
how long it took to do it?
I love the way you see the details.
Greetings from Argentina
OneMyth1 Muchas gracias! Unas 40-45h aprox
Absolutely stunning work. I was curious as to how you put so many layers on the paper without damaging it. Also what pencil do you use to outline the texture of the rhinos skin?
Thank you! The paper is bristol and it allows you lots of layers and erasing without damage because it almost has no tooth. I used woodless graphite 9B for the background. You have the tools used in the description. Hope that helps ;P!
Sorry i was meaning the pencil that you use from 0:51 sec onwards, thankyou for your reply
Ah! Ok, I see. I believe that must be B, 2B, 3B
I'm at a loss of words
Can you share how you make the black tone? it is so dark. what is the brand of the pencil? thank you
It's woodless graphite 9B from Faber Castell Pitt I think for this one. Hope it helps!
Thank you. What is the blue bottle to make white tiny wrinkle?
It's an electric eraser!
It looks great, what do you used for the highlight?
Yat-Fung Yeung thank you! mostly the electric eraser and the mechanical pen eraser
thank you.
Where did you get the images? I have a serious problem to find good resolution images. And, Congrats!
Thank you Rodrigo Realistic Drawings, make sure to search online images clicking search tools->size->large in the options or search web online "best places for free stock photos" and have fun
Thanks man!
i just don't understand how you eyeball proportions of the fine cracks and stuff, i have to grid stuff out
Skunk Pepin I think a proportional divider or even checking with the pencil is more useful in order to learn how to revise proportions if needed.
thanks!
What paper did you use to draw this on?
CareTaker Smooth Bristol!
Omg i love rhinos but it is so sad that the black rhino just went extinct :(
great news, the black rhino species increased from 200 specimens to 2000 in 3 years so if we can save them it will grow their population even more
Amazing
