I see videos of road schemes like this and know that local villagers will finally get some peace from congested local roads. An excellent view of Cornwall too - there's more to it than just the coast!
Whereabouts is car land Cross in relation to the rest of the A30 please? I know the eastern M3 area (near Stonehenge) and the western Yeovil area (by Haynes International Motor Museum) ?
Part of me regrets seeing the old route disappear, kind of liked getting to Carland Cross and knowing I was only half an hour or so from my home town PZ, the single carriageway road was quite enjoyable; that said I never really got caught in a traffic jam on that stretch westbound! Next trip down hopefully after the kids go back to school in September... Interesting juxtaposition of the "Cornish Alps" in the background compared with a 1970 pic I saw yesterday, taken at St Mawgan in which more pyramid like heaps I vaguely recall from that era were visible in the background. Time and excavation (or landscaping?) has softened them quite a lot...
Final tarmac later, white lines, barrier installations, top soil on the verges, central reservation, finishing loose ends on the current A30, sign installations…

It's in Cornwall, by Truro. I know they are currently dueling the A303, near Haynes, I'll see if I can get some footage of that
@@droning-about thank you! 😁

Cracking video - not long now!
I moved to Cornwall age 14, I couldn’t ever leave, how did you do it? Haha
Parents! I'd love to come back...
Hi Hooliganism, I’m from Kent so I don’t know the West Country abbreviations for towns like PZ but I’ve just guessed it might be Penzance? 🤔
@PhilTucker, excellent guess, I'll have to make it harder next time! 😀
Few weeks ago carland Cross were a mess looks nearly good to open now
So the full weekend closure was to do white lines?
