Every generation should be learning and advancing from the last. The word 'witch' has been used in the thumbnail not because Sadhguru calls goddess as witch, but because of historical reasons.
As described in the video, in past Europe, women who had certain capabilities were labelled as 'witches' and burnt. So in that context Sadhguru said that we need those witches.

Yeah , in India such powerful female energies are revered as Devi or amman ( mother ) . In the coastal Karnataka region where I come from there are some very powerful spaces like Siri , ullalthi .. etc . Mostly local people realise these energies and celebrate them , beyond our district people hardly recognise them . But as Hindus naturally are all accepting any visitor to the city are willing to bow down to such powerful deities even if they don’t know her powers , simply you see a Devi / Amman temple even those who don’t recognise the deity they will show respect . That is the unique nature of all Hindus . They don’t reject another people ‘s faith .

The living goddess which is shown in this video is from our ethnic group in Nepal. The tradition of living goddess has been around since the ancient times. But there has always been revolts from modern, educated people about this tradition. From their lenses, they see child exploitation, oppression of human right and all the problems of the modern mind. I watched a documentary on this a few days ago I think it’s a beautiful tradition but I think there are a few valid points with the people who don’t agree from the age of 2/4 if chosen they are only allowed to speak to family this makes them very isolated and they are worshiped for all the time until they get there first period so as soon as that happens they are basically dropped back into a “normal” life and that can be hard after spending so much of there childhood being worshiped and not speaking to others and also being carried everywhere this can make them very weak from such a young age not developing there gross motor skills being able to walk run jump ect it can be quite a shock to there body to suddenly be 15/16 and having to walk everywhere or at all in some cases I think it’s a wonderful tradition and that it should be continued but I think maybe they need to be allowed some freedom and be allowed to be children too it’s a very hard thing to balance being a goddess and a child 💚
