I was key grip on this shoot. My good friend Mr. Cely was the gaffer and my company, Danny Boy, supplied the G&E. Jerry was lots of fun to work with and was gracious and generous. On the main wide 2 shot you can see my 4x4 frame of 216 in the upper right hand corner of the frame (oops). Our DP was Mil Cannon and our producer was Francis Percarpio. Over a week's time I think we did a total of 3 music videos for Jerry's Branson show. His emphysema kept Jerry to short shoot days but it didn't affect his performance or professionalism. I think I have some stills of this shoot somewhere. We had a good time with this project. Thank you so much for posting this. I've never seen it before.
Thank you DanSo interesting and I've been a huge fan of Mr.Reed a of my life. They call me Gator her in Florida cuz it was rumoured I was poaching in the mid '70s.We have crocs now and that is changing the eco system but as to Jerry Reed. What a legend as you know better than I and even Elvis needed Jerry on a sing cuz try as they might they couldn't get that Reed fingerpicking without him so Elvis brought Jerry in abnd got what he wanted and they remained friends til Elvis' death. So cool your worh on this video and something to be very proud of.Good job Dan.I love this and anything Jerry. He,Chet Atkins and mark Knopfler are some of the best artsts and finger pickers ever. I'm 59 and have loved Jerry All of my life. Anything you care to share my e-mail is gator286223@gmail.com Stay safe Dan...peace Anything you care tio share sir
The video is genius and is a true tribute to an artistic genius as Jerry Reed who was a part of the American Renaissance of Music of the 20's through the 80's! The greatest period of Music that Man has ever known, and this guy was one great part of it!
Heard my grandpa play this a lot. It got stuck in my head and I used to listen to it at home and when my mom heard me playing it she said she just can't get away from that damn song! Haha
I always like that song When I was in basic training at Fort ord California I had a drill sergeant named Amos Every time I hear that song I think of him
Hi...this is great and I think this was done about the time Jerry Redd played 'Coach Red Beaulieu' of the University of Louisiana team, in Adam Sandler's "The Waterboy" (1998). Henry Winkler plays 'Coach Klein' of the S.C.L.S.U. team; the movie was filmed in Florida so, this is probably done during that filming. I love this video and I have always loved the song. I actually know several "Amos Moses"; I live in Louisiana and the town I grew up in, has several boys that attended my high school that lost their fingers/hand/foot from gator hunting (during gator season).
I never liked seeing Jerry Reed as an older man,,,,he was awesome though. He was a fave of mine when I was in the 6th and 7th grade,,,,,I loved this song,,still do. He was one of the greats.
When we were kids my cousin and I called a local radio station probably about twenty times requesting he play Amos Moses, he said if you little assholes quit calling here I'll play it. We said ok and he did. We laughed all night.
_" ... i have received _*_numerous_*_ awards and commendations for outstanding meritorious service in exercising the duties of my office as sheriff of this parish"_ *LOL*
Marz5004 well I hate to break it to you but it most certainly is illegal to hunt and kill gators at just any time you can only hunt during certain times different states have different gator seasons threw out the year with different quota numbers on how many you can actually hunt and kill gators have their season to be hunted just like white tail deer the only way you can kill one out of season is if comes up on personal property and is posing imentent danger towards a person where it is kill or be killed in self defense but most times they want you to try to have some one come in catch and release in less populated areas by wildlife org
Jerry was one of a kind for sure. Wished I had seen one of his concerts. I wonder who Cooter is played by. Man looks like he could lift a house. Another funny one is Another Puff by Jerry.
Spot on Paisan!! Jerry was known more for his skills as a guitarist versus a songwriter, but man-o-man, let those two hang out together for a few days and no telling what they would have come up with. By the way, I once heard Jerry say that when he finished writing Amos Moses at home, he played it for his young daughter and asked her if she thought it would be a hit. She said --- "Yes daddy."
One of my all time faves. I met Jerry Reed once and he was so cool. I shook his hand and said you are Jerry Reed! He said "Whats left of eem."

When was this filmed?
@@hueynapalm I'll guess this is 1997 or 1998. My stills don't have a time stamp, but I know when these lighting fixtures were on my shelves.
Is it true Les Claypool directed it?
@@legalfreedom inquiring minds want to know!!! ;-)
Wow 2022 I'm over 50 an never seen this before. Reed is LEGEND!!!!!!
Every now and then I return to this masterpiece.
The video is genius and is a true tribute to an artistic genius as Jerry Reed who was a part of the American Renaissance of Music of the 20's through the 80's! The greatest period of Music that Man has ever known, and this guy was one great part of it!
But that video was made years later, right? I mean, that's obviously not 1970.. it's also a later recorded version of the song I think.
Jerry reed is my biological great grandfather, this song is in remembrance of my pawpaw (the one who raised my grandmother) pawpaw cooter "amos"
That's awesome
Really? He’s that old already?
Awesome!
Bullshit.
That's so cool
What a fun vid!
I think Jerry had more fun than anybody in the music biz.
Chico Valdez - He sure passed enough fun along to others.
Yes you're right! Jerry Reed was very cool!
I always love that "big time" stars have a sense of humor about themselves. Jerry always had that and never took things too seriously.
One of my top 5 child hood fun songs.
Jerry Reed is in my top 3 all time.
God bless the Snowman!
Thank you for including this on San Andreas!
When mowing down Ballas and Vagos, I always keep it tuned to K-Rose!
Heard my grandpa play this a lot. It got stuck in my head and I used to listen to it at home and when my mom heard me playing it she said she just can't get away from that damn song! Haha

Ya grandpa has a great taste in music
Lmao!
Superb!!!! Still got my little 45rpm version from 1971!!!! Way to go, Amos!
How does this not have 10 million views? HOT DAW MIGHTY! Man this was a perfect video for the song! I think Jerry Reed would be proud of it for sure.
He was in it
Noah York: I know! :) Maybe I should have said "Jerry Reed SHOULD be proud of it." Either way it's a great video!
He was or still is a legend. It is a shame he is gone.
the drugs kill all the good music
He was not only immensely talented, but loveable as heck. He had a way of spreadin' sunshine.
What a piece of art, the clip and the music.
Make it count son!!!! 🇺🇸👌🇺🇸
This was my Dad's nickname for me, every time I hear it it makes me think of my Dad..:)
Jerry was such a showman. Great vid.

Never seen this before.
Jerry Reed is so talented.
I can't believe I never realized that Coach Beaulieu was Jerry Reed!
I always like that song When I was in basic training at Fort ord California I had a drill sergeant named Amos Every time I hear that song I think of him

I Miss him so Much!
Me too. He was one in a million.
This was the first 45 record I even bought. Heard it on the radio saved up my money went to Woolworths and bought it.
This looks pretty recent. Late nineties or early 00's. I like the new solo in the middle of the song! Thanks for sharing!
Jerry Reed, le meilleur "countryman" que j'ai eu l'occasion d'entendre.
That was a great video!! Too funny!!
I never liked seeing Jerry Reed as an older man,,,,he was awesome though. He was a fave of mine when I was in the 6th and 7th grade,,,,,I loved this song,,still do. He was one of the greats.

Mr Reed ALWAYS seemed like a REALLY FUN GUY !!!!!
Whatta hilarious video!
Jerry Reed is one of my favorite people ever
Really fun but “pretty wife Hannah” is a casting gem! Thanks so much for sharing with us.
This is a light hearted and humorous rework of a song that was originally much darker in tone, I like this version, but the original is more my taste.
one of the best guitarists ever
He doing a Buford t justice style. Makes me laugh. Rip Jerry!
I think he doing more like Sheriff Roscoe P Coltrane from the Dukes Of Hazzard TV series... 😆
When we were kids my cousin and I called a local radio station probably about twenty times requesting he play Amos Moses, he said if you little assholes quit calling here I'll play it. We said ok and he did. We laughed all night.
this is absolutely fantastic! thanks for sharing!

Nah, I think your thinking of the guy from Scooby Doo.
Which COUCH cuz I have looked at every COUCH in that movie and I don't recognize that there is a COUCH in this here particular video

I just realized who's playing the wife. LOL
First time I've seen this video. I've always liked the song. And Jerry Reed. I think he was the better part of Smokey and the Bandit.
Oh Jerry Reed you made me laugh..RIP...with Amos Moses, Dr. Mill South and his pretty wife Anna....
This feels like a GTA San Andreas mission cinematic
4:57 He looks like a Christopher Walken character!
At some point you have to blame those 2 cops for their general incompetence
Hilarious!! I love Jerry Reed!
good video
Bwahahhaaa!!!!
YES! Love this guy..
Polk salad Annie & Amos Moses Milsap would surely make a decent couple !
It look like Lymone swamps and bluewater marshes in RDR2
It's too bad Jerry Reed and Tony Joe White never recorded a song together. Amos Moses and Polk Salad Annie would have made a terror-iffic couple.

hey that's the dude from Waterboy!
Yeah, Jerry Reed...you wanna see a classic? Watch Smokey and The Bandit, he's in that one as a truck driver
"I'm talkin'..."
🤚IM TALKING.....im talkin
Ive had to educate several young folks who thought this was a Primus song.
Weird but I love Jerry Reed.

The great Jerry Reed channelling Bugord T Justice
